@AmazingAutist
@AmazingAutist 9 ай бұрын
@@nekomancer47except that's not true. Pitbulls are excellent guard dogs and if you are getting a pitbull for protection you will train it. Bad dog owners that don't train their dogs leave cooped up inside of a small crate with pent-up energy that can be only be released once they finally escaped, and a child that doesn't know body language for animals and could unintentionally challenge a dog or activator prey drive is a bad combination. This happens with many dog breeds especially dobermans, rottweilers, German shepherds, and other strong breeds but the only reason it happens with pitbulls is because the people who tend to get pitbulls and not trained them properly are the ones that are using them as a status symbol, don't treat them like a dog and give them the proper training they need, or and the worst case actively train them to be aggressive. Pitbulls may have a slight tendency to be aggressive towards other dogs because of their breeding but that can be easily trained out during early socialization, especially since they were used in fighting pits against other dogs it would be bad to have your animal not being able to be handled by humans. The dog fighters don't get mauled by their animal victims, which we would see a lot more if they were Savage breeds that are aggressive to everything which they are not. All of Michael Vick's dogs were already home and successfully and had no incidents and lived peaceful lies until their natural deaths, some of which were being used in hospitals and Elderly Homes to help me therapy dogs. The only one who was in successfully rehabilitated was rosie, who died because of her injuries. They are one of them more tolerant breeds when it comes to human activities and provocation. Whenever there is a pitbull band, the number of incidents goes down, only for those incidents to climb right back up as the same people that caused those incidents with a pit bulls move on to another dog breed if they can use, abuse, or neglect for the status that the muscle of the dog provides. But it is way easier to claim that a dog is a violent and vicious simply because of loose breed definitions, instead of acknowledging the source of the problem which are the people who tend to get them irresponsibly and with malicious intent. These types of people who choose this easy and incorrect response are also the type to conveniently ignore that no dog, no matter what size, are advised to not be around small children unless they are actively supervised by a parent, and children are supposed to be taught early on what is and is not appropriate behavior when it comes to dogs as children can press the tolerance levels of dogs without proper training of both a child and the animal. The fact that some common human behaviors can and will be interpreted as challenging and instigating behaviors by animals only combines that problem. If you want to talk about a dog that is inherently dangerous and hostile to children, stay away from poodles. By the way, if you want to talk about a dog that is documented to be extremely hostile and suitable to be near children at all, keep your eyes on the poodle.

@Gambit Odsey I was a little more irritated than I necessarily needed to be. Sorry about that. I've been playing since the nineties, starting with 2nd edition, although honestly 5e is my favorite edition. You're correct with 5e it totally depends on your deity and your oath and all that. A couple of years ago I was actually playing a pirate paladin of vengeance who worshiped both Hoar and Helm. Complicated character. Super fun. Paladins might be my favorite class. Although cleric comes close, in 5e, which is funny because I never enjoyed them in past editions. Anyway, it sounds like you're having a good time in your games. I used to get really irritated in old school games where people played the classic lawful good heroic paladin as violent a-holes. That was the reason for my original comment, which was sarcastic.

A paladin wants to own slaves... and that is permitted in their oath? easy out there DM, EASY OUT! Vengeance Paladin? "Fight the Greater Evil" and "Restitution" tenets would definitely prohibit slavery. Not taking no for an answer is a common common theme in a lot of these nice guy stories, but Anarcho-Capitalistism (apparently that is what ANCAP means)... ok, that is a good start to find out somebody is probably going to have some very twisted views. But anyway the story overall is rather simple, NiceGuys are socialpaths that lack the awareness to realise that other people have different views and beliefs; thus he can't understand why OP (or Wizard before that) don't fall immediately in love with him for being right about everything. Reality obviously being that his view points are mostly fantasy and fabrication, I wouldn't be surprised if he buys into conspiracy theories and other nutjob things. The biggest issue with the 2nd story, it's been a year and he is still chasing, it's no longer time to be considering getting a retraining order; that is definitely past time to get a restraining order already! I think a big part of it is that there is just so much bullshit out there on the Internet, from neggers, incels, mgtow, pick-up artists and others, that people susceptible to bullshit buy into a very distorted view of reality of what women are actually like. Add on to this a guy who can not tell the difference between a character and a player... you get weird shit like this, where most guys would move on because they know they fucked up, he continues to harass instead and fails to understand that the "no" was final. Very very nice guy of him. If you want to learn what women are like, try interacting with them probably, don't chase the goal of finding SO, instead make friends, accept friendship and ask for advice. With these things you can learn Empathy and treating people as individuals, not as some misguided group stereotype.

@gambitodsey8606 I do, and I also know that Vengeance Paladin oath doesn't allow one to become a slave owner, two of it's tenants specifically would not allow it.
@DoomsdayR3sistance
@DoomsdayR3sistance 2 жыл бұрын
@gambitodsey8606 you're either being dumb or haven't read the original post. There are TWO; yes TWO specific tenets which would not allow slavery for a vengeance Paladin. Those are Fight the Greater Evil and Restitution Fight the greater evil specifies, "Faced with a choice of fighting my sworn foes or combating a lesser evil, I choose the greater evil." Slavery and Slavers are a great evil, so that is an automatic that you HAVE to fight slavers. Restitution, "If my foes wreak ruin on the world, it is because I failed to stop them. I must help those harmed by their misdeeds." It is harder to find those harmed more by misdeeds than slaves, keeping slaves is in direct conflict with this tenet too.
@DoomsdayR3sistance
@DoomsdayR3sistance 2 жыл бұрын
@gambitodsey8606 Not all orcs are inherently evil (they tend towards Choatic Evil but not all orcs are evil), even in 5E, and more so not going to be in one D&D. Saying Orcs are evil because they are orcs really isn't vengeance paladin. Vengeance Paladin is about obtaining Vengeance against evil, that means against people that perform evil acts, like Slavers, who usually are murders that perform many other cruel acts. Vengeance Paladin is specifically fighting against Evil, they might resort to a lesser evil and that is how they are lawful evil, they do not seek needlessly evil acts like slavery. That is not what Vengeance Paladin is, they only resort to Evil to slay a bigger evil, buying slaves isn't ridding the world of a greater evil, it is funding a greater evil which is in direct opposition of Restitution and Fight the Greater Evil
@DoomsdayR3sistance
@DoomsdayR3sistance 2 жыл бұрын
@gambitodsey8606 Alignment isn't the same as 3rd edition (restrictions don't exist anymore) and a specific tenet of vengeance paladin still fight the greater evil. If you were to look for example of a lawful evil vengeance paladin then Darth Vader, he believes he is fighting a greater evil than the empire, even if he is mistaken in that. Paladin's still need to live by their oaths, and vengeance does still include fighting the greater evil.

Really the amount of these stories that throw around terms like mysonginistic (however it's spelled, don't really care) and whatnot is a bit....old. You can just as easily just call them a jerkbag, waste of space, or whatever and get the same point across. That said, these stories make me glad my group of rp buddies is nothing like this, though they have their own issues and flaws, it's nothing compared to what's read here thankfully.

If any of you are wandering, Ancaps are what libertarians see themselves as. There an overlap between between libertarians and ancaps, but ancap is all about getting that sweet money at any cost.
