Really great filming. It's exciting to watch. This seems like a frustrating bike to fix, though.

4:00 , as standard socket set can do this with an extension bar if required . I have 600 millimetre extension bars . This method is much easier .

Hi, first vd-40 and then heating, is it more effective? than just heating? 2) what did you measure in the new chain with a ruler? 3) why do you need to break the chain of the new and old?3.34min 4) How did you find out how many links of the chain need to be removed? usually you need to skip the chain without a switch and plus one link. Thanks for the answers, well done
@threeDeeBeginnerАй бұрын
1) yes, anyway you must try with wd40 before using heat 2) it's to show us the stretches at different places 3) to ensure you don't have tight spots on the new chain 4) Shift the Chain: Place the chain on the smallest cog in the rear and the largest chainring in the front. This is known as the "small cog, large chainring" setup. Check Derailleur Alignment: Look at the derailleur pulleys (jockey wheels) from the side. For correct chain length, the pulleys should form a straight, vertical line perpendicular to the ground, ideally creating a 90° angle. This alignment indicates the chain has the proper amount of tension without being too loose or too tight. Adjust as Needed: If the pulleys are angled or not perfectly vertical, adjust the chain length by adding or removing links until this alignment is achieved. Test Shifting and Tension: After setting the chain length, test shifting through all gears to ensure the chain moves smoothly across the cassette and does not put excessive strain on the derailleur in any gear combination.

6:51 by adding lube on this screw, you would have far better preload so it won't move in long term.

Hello there! Great video as usual, but isn't the chain a bit too long at the end? As in the derailleur should be more extended outwards? Thank you
@NiceBikeServiceАй бұрын
Thank you for your comment. The length of the chain is fine, in principle, you can remove one more link, but it doesn't matter. When the chain is inserted, the derailleur stands without tension, so it looks unusual

to tight the quicklink it's easier to backpedal so the quicklink is on the upper side of the chain, at that point you only have to push the right pedal with your right hand while holding the rear wheel with the left hand, and you'll feel the click.

That old chain was really stretched. Perhaps the owner needs to invest in a chain cleaner and some lube.

comment tu peux peux mesurer/tester si la cassette ou pédalier sont usés ?
@threeDeeBeginnerАй бұрын
tu le vois à l'usure des dents. En général c'est d'abord la cassette qui s'use, le pédalier est généralement d'un alliage plus solide et surout il répartit les efforts sur plus de dents, ce qui ralentit beaucoup son usure.
@makantahi3731Ай бұрын
a worn chain has a larger pitch than a new chain, that's why only the tips of the teeth are worn, which when new look like a U and when worn look like a V. the best indicator is if the chain skips, but only on the cassette, because the chain almost never skips on the ring gear, it should be completely worn
