Maybe this is a major part of the problem with ADCC/Flo. A purple belt just submitted the #1 seed and overwhelming favorite in the tournament and instead of an interview with that guy, or excitement on the next stages of the tournament, excitement on the fact that anything can happen, we get this? I think this video might have made sense next week, I wish Meregali a speedy recovery, but this ain’t it Flo.

100% and the strategy for success is not complicated. You know Meragali gets the clicks? Cool…so have the Meragali interview in the video…right after the interview you show with the winner so people learn to know him and will click NEXT TIME when the video is just about him.

U can tell he’s been crying. I am not enjoying him being sad or injured. But I enjoy him being humbled. He might say those words, but he knows deep down that he lost and why. When 2 men are in the ring, in the cage or on the mats, they know and feel what each other is capable of. He was dominated and because of his arrogance/ego he cannot process it and admit it on camera. But he definitely felt it. His jiujitsu is GREAT. And I really enjoy watching him rolling (comp or training). Even learned a lot from him. But no one is unbeatable in Jiu-jitsu, especially at black belt level. The best thing is to learn how to take a loss, learn from it and grow. Like Gordon Ryan did after he lost against Peña some years ago. He didn’t look for excuses, reflected on it, came back stronger and is the GOAT now. And he will still lose one day to someone. It feels Meregali won’t grow because he won’t learn from it, because in his mind he didn’t lose, HE GOT INJURED. No man, it doesn’t work like that. Get well man ✊🏾, recover, rest, reflect on it, train, stop all the antics, humble yourself a bit, and give us beautiful matches and subs. OSS

He injured it by landing on his shoulder trying to maneuver during the throw. He was already in a losing position, but the pain seemed to make him tap much sooner than he normally would've judging from his matches in past. Shoulder dislocations are often very painful but when reduced (put back in place) sometimes heal with time/rest. However, if the ligaments stretched too far that they're too lax, it re-dislocates too easily going forward so many athletes need surgery to make it stable enough for such high-intensity activity.

People tends not to see overall picture, and discuss only what is at the present moment. This shoulder dislocation most likely happened as a cumulative effect from his chronic overtraining and disrespectful attitude to recovery part of routine. This is also part of mistake by John. Although I personally do not like his personality (as a cocky person copying Gordon), I respect him as a professional athlete, and sincerely wish him speedy recovery and all the best. Stay strong Nicholas and come back soon!

The fact that he prematurely posted on Instagram about his double gold victory and being proud of himself for winning ADCC 4 days before the tournament even started is why people are mocking him. Choose humility over arrogance

The thing is everyone would love you if you just acted like yourself instead of putting up an act like if your Gordon let Gordon do his thing and follow your own path be your self. The twins are super humble down to earth and they’re loved by everyone tye got hurt and no one is happy he got hurt. Im sure he’s getting a lot of support on instagram

In John Danaher voice “Nicholas you failed to understand the dichotomy of the intrinsic and complex mechanics of jiu jitsu therefore we must exile you from new wave jiu jitsu to preserve the fundamental philosophical truths we have developed in our study of jiu jitsu”

Seems like Meregali underestimated Pixley. Satisfying loss but hope to see him bounce back

Bro acting as if he tore his ligaments by just falling on the ground… he did nothing to Pixley. Lost playing on the top and bottom…

Tough to watch, imagining how painful it would be to suffer a major injury that prevents you from doing the thing you love most in life. The downside to competitive jiu-jitsu is that injuries happen and they can sometimes nag you for the rest of your career. Hoping that there's no ligament damage and that he makes a full recovery.

Aside from the love/hate comments, he made a tactical error forcing the wrestling/standup exchanges with Pixley and should have switched to guard to force a sweep, after being taken down multiple times he made a mistake of posting which often results in injuries against explosive guys, no fluke or bad luck here just a plain and simple loss that could happen to everyone except the very best who would have adjusted, he clearly isn't the best, best of luck for his recovery and comeback
