Technically he fell to his knee right before the ref counted him getting back up, thus continuing the count, and since Nick Bruiser wasn't fully up, at the count of 10, it was considered a KO.

The reason the ref didn't stop counting when Nick got up is because he hadn't come to his senses yet and wasn't ready to fight. This is something real refs actually do, which I think is a cool little detail on Nintendo's part.

Freak accident. Also, before you say that Nick has 0 losses, the sponsors most likely didn't count it as a loss for him, due to it being that, an *accident.* Though they could have still gave the win to Glass Joe, out of pity. However... since this game is best to be seen, as an alternate universe (due to Mr. Sandman being younger, and Bald Bull being the same age, even though Super Macho Man is older), I think we also have to see this Glass Joe as a different guy, of sorts, or think of his win in Punch-Out NES and Punch-Out Wii, against someone else, probably the original universe's version of Gabby Jay, or a similar boxer.
