I live in an upper middle class neighborhood and haven’t had a police interaction in over 5 plus years. The one thing the community don’t grasp is folks in high crime areas is going to receive the worst policing because the cops have their heads on a swivel. If you make mistake you may not make home for dinner. The higher the crime and violence the more ultra aggressive the police are going to behave to the public. When I was deployed in Iraq, the hot areas that we had to patrol, our mind set was simple it’s better to be judged by nine than carried by six. The math is simple, but we’re so stuck on color it makes folks like Candace Owen super important.

Part of redlining was where homes in Black neighborhoods were defined mortgages to repair their homes as well. Thus contributing to lower property values. Redlining is not just about moving out of the hood to a white suburb.
@krisjones4051
@krisjones4051 3 ай бұрын
Redlining maps and that entire narrative are in fact horribly inaccurate. Those maps were drawn up by HOLC (Home Owners Lending Corporation) but in fact had nothing to do with lending patterns. HOLC _did_ lend to blacks (moreso than other institution as a percentage of their loans) and others who resided in redlined districts and their maps do not reflect how the FHA distributed their own loans. Now, FHA did engage in racist practices, yet it’s implementation wasn’t synonymous with the commonly used term “redlining.” Whites, too, were impacted with how HOLC maps were drawn up and this correlated with high crime, poor infrastructure and inner city districts (not strictly minority population.) Furthermore, wealth typically doesn’t transcend more than 3 generations within a family. Whites (and even more so, Asians) are disproportionately wealthy in America because of culture, not inheritance.

I have police in my family so I dont hate all cops or think they are all bad. That said I cant believe this conversation. I have no police record, and what you say may be partially true in Detroit. What about Livonia, Westland, Dearborn or any of the cities in Oakland County? I got pulled over often from 16 on, searched every time in Birmingham. Pulled over at gunpoint searched, and I have been robbed by the Detroit police twice. Most of the time never even get a ticket and obviously not ever charged with anything since I dont have a record. The harassment stopped as I got older but I think you are speaking from a perspective that is unique to you. Born and raised in Detroit my whole life and I had to stop at the 10 minute mark because what you are describing sounds like somewhere outside of Michigan altogether. I dont know if you have been rich your whole life but the Detroit and Michigan you describe is not the reality for most middle class residents

I rock with Anton heavily. However, as a retired NYC police officer that's African-American growing up in the city, I've been harassed by police officers constantly. I've never been in trouble. They pastel the black hoods harassing all the time. I became one to combat that very thing. I've worked with many racist officers that did see race when pulling people over. You guys are out of your depth with this one.

I rock with some things as well but they’re getting out of their lane. They don’t know enough about these topics. White glasses doesn’t even know what redlining is from his statement! Anton is good talking about relationships and such but he’s getting out of his league when talking about politics. Stick to that my guy, I rock with you there. Trying to get into politics is not your lane!

Well, Detroit police Force is mostly Black and they try to have a connection with the Black community that’s why they have different programs or different outreach things for the Community.and Candace Owen job was to go in front of all white audience and I tell them about Black issues where she also bring up those old and out date tropes welfare and fatherless home to a group of people who could care less.And we know that Black race here is 90% African-American 10% are African and Caribbean and she identify as Caribbean and we know many of them love bashing African-American And let talk about how 9 out of 10 red states live below the property rate receive the most welfare had the poorest education, healthcare, and mental care and yet they continue vote red and and white supremacist has to do more or less with the system, like going after a Black women that a program that helped Black women in her Community and she ask why she not helping white women to even though they’re not part of her community and try get her program shut down and we they don’t like anything that help Black people into a good position, that why many African-American women, are networking, black businesses and this also include African-American men
