Nick Diaz and Paul Daley confront each other in a hotel restaraunt after the fight

On the occasion when two fighters have incredible respect for each other, they meet after their nationally televised altercation just to give each other praise on being a formidable and highly adept opponent. No water bottles will fly towards your general direction if both competitors attain an unspoken level of admiration that can only be recognized after the audience has left the arena and the cameras are stored in whatever bags they originated from. Fortunately for us, we don't have a camera bag. Check out this video captured by MiddleEasy's LayzieTheSavage of Nick Diaz confronting Paul Daley at a hotel restaurant shortly after their Strikeforce title bout this past weekend in San Diego.

@am to the pm to the am I think people think that cuz he insults everybody he fights until afterwards. After the fights he's always really respectful and polite. People just don't pay attention to what happens between fighters after fights they only care about what happens before and during, so they wouldn't know that this guy has class

5616steph Diaz is in the Pro's, Daley is in the Triple A's. Daley has no ground game. Diaz could EASILY take him down and get a submission. He could have done it in the first fight, when Daley was a blue belt and Diaz was a black belt. It would have been laughable to see Diaz dominate him on the ground like that. But Diaz doesn't like to put on boring fights to the mainstream media/viewers. Daley won't ever be signed to the UFC again (Dana has said so).

Dominik Cruz, Frankie Edgar, Benson Henderson, Chael Sonnen, Ben Askren, etc. etc.... the list of fighters who use position and wrestling to control and dominate their opponents but rarely finish could go on forever. Of the people I mentioned, two are current UFC champions. You may not think controlling someone is exciting, but to hate on GSP like he's an anomaly is just plain ignorant. He's just part of a trend. He gets hate because he's so successful and smothering. What he does is not easy.

Speaking of Jab - it is a very effective weapon. Josh Koshcheck almost lost his right eye because of GSP's Jab, Jake Shields face looked like it had been shot with pellets after the GSP fight. Check the photos out for yourself. Instead of faulting GSP for what he did do - he come you don't fault Diaz for what he didn't do. His much vaulted striking made no difference, he couldn't stop GSP's takedowns and he was outclassed and had no way of getting off the mat. That is being dominated.
