So, Allegiant was supposed to be split in two films since that was all the rage at the time. But the failure of Allegiant meant Ascendant (Part 2) was never made. Three books, four movies planned, only three ever made.

Points that are clear in the books but not in the movie: Dauntless aren't just climbers and parkour enthusiasts. They are the cops and soldiers. The guardian. Being Dauntless isn't about being fearless, but about being brave. The whole point is to overcome your fears to protect society. As Four pointed out, everyone is afraid of something. They train to overcome their fears and put others first and are always climbing and parkouring to push themselves.. Eric and the others just want more power. Four refused to take leadership because he knew he'd have to interact with the other faction's leaders, which would include his abusive father. He also doesn't show his tattoo to anyone but Tris. The way to overcome your fears in the fear landscape is to basically calm down. Most people take awhile to calm themselves but, since Tris knows it's not real, it's easier for her. Figuring her way out through the various fears basically just draws out her time and makes her seem braver instead of different. Abnegation is about selflessness. They aren't homeless, they purposely go without because it's not about their comfort, it's about being of service. And being factionless means no contact with family, no food, no money, no clothes,, no homes, nothing that isn't handed out to you by Abnegation and Amity (because they believe in charity and kindness). It's considered total failure and a fate worse than anything. At the end, they had her shut down the simulation and wipe the program out of existence (so she couldn't just turn it back on). Jeanine was freaking out because she would have to start from scratch and the program took most of her life to create.

After Tris juiced Janine up with the serum, she told her to “shut it down and WIPE THE PROGRAM!” So Janine shut it down. When she wiped the program, it released everybody from the sim, including Janine. That’s why she was trying to restart the program. Kate Winslet was 5 months pregnant when she made this film and she was starting to show. That’s why you always see her carrying folders and stuff to hide the bump. This was her first time to play a villain and she had a blast! I’m the books, you take the test when you are 16 years old. To me, the only reason Tris and Caleb took the test on the same day has to be that they are twins, but this is not mentioned in the books. Yes, Zoe Kravitz is the daughter of Lenny Kravitz. She is ALSO the daughter of Lisa Bonet! She looks more like her mother everyday. Four (Theo James) is actually British and was in Downton Abbey. Miles Teller is not a penis in his roles. He is a dick!… which to me dicks are not a bad thing.

They're not twins but their parents pretty much immediately got to " business" again after Caleb was born, meaning Tris was born before Caleb turned 1 year old. That's how they are in the same grade but Tris is one of the youngest in the grade and Caleb is probably one of the oldest. Hope that helps. ;)

14:27- Well, Tris grew up in a peaceful faction. It makes sense why she is clueless about fighting. 18:06- I never read the books, but considering that when they choose a new faction I presume they're 18 years old. 23:15- Zipline is cool, I've tried it and liked it. I might try skydiving, but I'll need preparation for it. 38:59- The last fear of Tris is intimacy. And of course the fear of sexual assault is on the mind of everyone even if you've never experienced it. I can't imagine how it is for people who actually have been assaulted.

I know you’ve probably heard this a lot by now, but the books were wayyyy better. I’m sure the movies are pretty good for people who haven’t read the books, but once you’ve read the series you can’t unsee every mistake and cringe moment in the movies lol. I first read Divergent when I was in middle school. It’s got a special place in my heart and is still one of my favorite book series.

FYI, the 1st movie is god tier one of the best book adaptations of all time (paired with THG Catching Fire), but the 2nd movie was so bad and the 3rd was so lame they cancelled the 4th movie that was supposedly gonna finish the saga on cinema.
