According to the article the robot's speech is normally powered by GPT-4o but in this case it was controlled dialogue. In the end there was no artificial intelligence displayed, only a very fancy remote control robot.

The robot and the movements are real - you can see them on 1x's site. The voice isn't. The guy was probably back there doing the voice.

No, it’s a real robot. It’s just being controlled by a human. They’re doing it that way for now so that the AI can learn from what the human does. They’re gonna be selling them with fully functional AI inside it once it’s able to work without human intervention :)
