I've loved Nickelback since 2001 and never cared what anyone thinks. I'm glad you guys appreciate them too.

Yeah I like them. I never cared that they got crapped on. I've been a Metal head since the mid 80s in high school listening to Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera, AIC, Slayer, Testament, Korn, stuff like that till this day, and luv alot of newer heavier bands like Trivium, Bullet, Lacuna Coil, Static X, Nevermore, Slipknot etc, but really too many too mention here. But Nickelback are a band that you can switch off and enjoy with the occasional heartfelt ballad like "Lullaby" which is their best song imho... very commercial, but are good musicians and if you want a reliable band to listen to thats something lighter but not Pop they are pretty good.

Music video just dropped too. Man this song slaps. They dont deserve the hate they get, but when you earn as much as them why would you care.

The country vibe to their lyrics that you note likely has a lot to do with the fact that their roots are in Alberta, Canada's "cowboy" province. Western Canada seems to produce some heavy, country-inspired rock going back to the '70s with bands like BTO. Rock on good ole Canadian boys! 🇨🇦

6:46 Nickelback was the first Rock I ever listened to 15years ago. Totally agree, that intro tease could've lead to like a heavier drop tunes riff instead of chord progression.

A few people who reacted to this thought there was going to be a breakdown right before the last chorus 😂😂😂

Dont worry Nath "Ive got my truck, I got a beer" is damn near any popular country song. You were one blue jean and a pair of boots from a hit. But this was a solid rock sound. Have always enjoyed a good Nickleback song, alwasys saw them as like "Dad metal/Rock" haha.

PS, i agree with you guys at the end, very expected and just Nickleback-ish lol.

Been a Nickelback fan for years. Sure I like heavier stuff but they are as you say is catchy as f and easy to listen to. I won't be a sheep and follow the masses I like so many genres of music it's kinda ridiculous but I like what I like and I won't deny to fit in with one group of people.

You mentioned Nickelback having the southern twang to their sound that's cause they are from Alberta, Canada. Also if your looking for heavy Nickelback I recommend the album The Long Road by them. Bought the CD when I was younger that's all I listened to. Lol

They’ve done this before. They teased ‘feed the machine’, and ‘edge of a revolution’. Great tracks but albums following were average. I expect this will be the heaviest track on Get Rollin. Used to be a huge Nickelback fan. Still follow them loosely. Sounds like their song ‘something in your mouth’. I think when they were huge, they were considered heavy. Now what was heavy then is now the standard. So after a few years break, for them to come back with something catchy but nothing special, is disappointing. Especially when the likes of Bring Me The Horizon, Falling in Reverse, Parkway Drive are around. They lost me when they started doing songs with the likes of Flo Rida. I mean really?! Once they’d turned pop, you need something special to gain that respect back.
@robharrison38492 жыл бұрын
On a positive note, they sound the same as they did 20 years ago. Not many bands can do that. And they’re great live. I just hope they’re are still considered relevant in the rock/metal world. I also hope I eat my words and ‘get rollin’ ends up kicking ass, with one or two ballads. We will see.

As someone who can't quite understand the Nickelback hatred...I absolutely detest this song! It makes no sense and sounds almost exactly like their songs 10 years ago...but just nowhere near as good. Never Again, Animals, Something In Your Mouth, etc were so much better than this. They aren't a bad band but this song is poop on a platter!
@improviseandtheguitars58592 жыл бұрын
I think I'm missing the point with this sort of music.......its not metal its kind of rock and its so generic and ready for the radio after 9pm at night......great vocals ect......but the song writing is so shit to my ears. Wish I could appreciate it. 😢 no disrespect intended..
