Aloha from Hawaii! Oh - Grazie for the memories! 17 yrs ago I was blessed to visit this very special place, which became one of my favorite places on earth. 14 yrs ago returned, this time with my Hawaiian friend who had never been off this island and she fell in love with Capri too! There were Tango dancers performing in the piazza under the clock one night - so enchanting. The second night there were fireworks above the Marina Piccola which we watched from our terrace, we could hardly believe the magic of Capri. I'm very happy you are able to enjoy some of your home without so many visitors, we also have almost no visitors here and have had a time to enjoy the solitude. Hydrangea's are some of my favorite flowers and which make beautiful Haku (head) Lei's. My mother has a huge one where she lived in Oregon, it was a Lace Cap variety and was so lovely in the summer, I used to make Haku Lei's with the blossoms for all birthday celebrations. There are few things more precious than little girls in matching outfits. My sister always goes out and when she buys herself a new dress, she buys one for me too. The only thing is that we are in our 40s, so when we wear them at the same time, we look like a couple of adult down syndrome women, lol.

It is almost eerie seeing how quiet it is on this beautiful island. There must be a way to find tourism between the way it looks today and the masses from previous times. It is so hard to enjoy the beauty with large crowds. Wishing the businesses survive this viral year.

Heavenly! Thank you for taking us along, I’m really beginning to feel like I know your part of the world now, even the bits of Capri that you have taken us to, never thought I would say that. I’m sure it will all be back to chaotic normality soon enough, well I hope so for the livelihoods of the people, but for me if only the world were healthy but this genteel again, so lucky you and lucky us to be able to see these places as they are seen at their best, not just noise and bodies. The gardens and the singing of the crickets were so peaceful, I could just listen to that for hours! Oh and by the way the scarfs, all blue and turquoise on racks outside a shop o the way to the villa of the swedish doctor, are the colours I have been looking for for ages, next time you are there, could you pick me one up! Lol 😂 You live in a precious place with a wonderful family and lovely people around you, just thankful you share it, it certainly has helped me in these times of stress and uncertainty. 🤗🙏🤗🙏

The Villa San Michelle was my favourite part on my visit to Capri, I was there in early oct 2018 and though every where else was packed the Villa was really quiet. And the story of Axel Munthe (especially his love for animals) was fascinating. Just lovely.

Wow! The flowers on Capri were just stunning. It’s a shame that tourism has dropped off but at the same time to have the streets to yourself must be a joy. Everywhere you went there was a beautiful view but the best is always the sight of Positano as seen from the sea. Just eye wateringly gorgeous. Lucky, lucky you 🍀

My little sister is called Anne with an E.. I say little, she is my younger sister and and the youngest of 4 girls but she is 63 years old, 3 years younger than me so I always refer to her as my little sister.. When we're together we are back to being kids again.. age is just a number, we all have that inner child and your inner child will give you the strength and the love for yourself to see you through this difficult time.. I firmly believe that things happen for a reason and you will come through this with a different mindset. We all have so much to be thankful for even though sometimes it's difficult to count our blessings when there is so much rubbish stuff going on.. sending you love and healing energy to see you through... stay safe xx

I visited Positano Oct 2018 and even though it was “off season” it was pretty busy. I would love to visit now and experience the beauty of that area without the masses but we in the USA can’t go yet. Beautiful Capri. I always dreamed of going there and was so lucky to finally go last summer. My husband and I followed your advice and walked to the natural arch. We got to enjoy the quiet and beautiful nature of Capri that so many tourists don’t get to see. We were alone most of day. Everyday in Italy was a dream for me but that was definitely one of my favorites. Thank you for sharing.

I had never see Capri so empty via Axel Munthe it is always crowded with people walking and shopping same with Via Tragara but is so nice to see it and remember my vacations there on 2016,17 and 18.

Oh my gosh-what a great video-I re-watched your May 2017 video hiking to the Arco Naturale with Holly🙂 November 2012 and stayed overnight-I too walked a trail and sat at the same bench and have video of a sweet cat walking along a stone wall on the trail-lucky cat-missed the Swedish villa tour with a group because I was too tired to get up early in the morning-enjoyed the rain and many walks-I revisited Capri July 2017 -this time included a boat tour around the island-always a fun time in Capri-a feast for the eyes-Love Capri-Love Italy🙂take care

Oh what a joy to see Capri again and especially San Michele and the beautiful house and gardens. I was there in 1993 and loved every minute of it. I also bought the book about San Michele written by Axel Munthe about his life as a doctor and the establishing his home and garden. It is a treasure for me. Lovely lovely video Nicki. I missed my girl Holly but the beautiful scenery and views made up for it. I just loved seeing Capri thru your lens and it was definitely enhanced by the lack of crowds. And I couldn’t help but appreciate the bittersweet thought that while I enjoyed seeing the beauty of the solitude, I know that same solitude is hurting the business owners who rely so heavily on tourism. Also your thoughts on the huge crowd vs no crowds make me think that hopefully there is a happy medium sometime soon.
