Just watching the little dog "holly" happily running and barking freely in the vineyard, while the two little girls are picking grapes from the vine was truly an emotional moment for me. Just the perfect picture that you usually only see in movies. Beautiful!

Hi everyone. Please consider subscribing to Nicki's channel. I, for one, have needed her videos as a sort of life line (mentally) because of the chaos in my part of the world(of course not as bad as others). I live in So Cal covid is still kicking, fires are still smoking, our potus is a ----- and lots of worry about peoples jobs, housing...SO when Nicki's videos come out , it's a big sigh of relief for me. I don't know if she truly realizes how important her work is appreciated. (And all those steps she took in today's video...wow !) So thank you all for listening. Blessings to all...

I didn't know about putting oil around the lid that floats on the wine. I guess that stops bad bacteria from getting in and lets the gas from the fermentation get out. Smart.

It's to prevent air to come in and start oxidation.. otherwise it will became vinaigre

@@1977Timp So it's to slow the fermentation, which is a combination of oxygen and bacteria, right?

My grandfather made his own red wine. All I know about it are the family stories. He died when I was 2. The grapes were purchased at a farmer’s market. As the wine aged my grandmother and uncle used to “sample” the wine using a bucatini pasta for a straw! After sipping, the straw was dropped into the aging barrel. When the wine was bottled, grandfather could not figure out why there was pasta among the dregs of the cask! I love how everyone works together to make the wine in this video! Another great video, Nicki!

Wonderful, tradition and great produce - gathered by family and friends. Holly always makes me smile. Like my dog, Cooper - she is always ready to join in what what the significant family is doing. Wish I had that de-stemming machine at my home today, I was making blackcurrant jam. Lots of stems. We have a new vineyard here on the farm, so this video is timely. BUT sadly I think we will out source the processing. To much happening here. I cannot even imagine the team getting down and dirty with the grapes like your crew. As always Nicki - great capture of life on the Amafi Coast. Miss it.
