I like RR. Although I have to say in the show, she had about her building and renovating an old burn into a home in italy kind of made me see another side of her as she's kind of bossy and very picky. And I really didn't enjoy watching that show. Sometimes people forget that at 1 time. They had no money like everyone else. And sometimes their money changes them. I don't know if that's the case with Rachel ray. But I know she put that builder through hell to do that house. She's very picky, very precise and very bossy. And very loud during the show. And I really didn't enjoy watching that with her. Her persona is not ruined for me. But I think she should have been different during the show.

It is easy to get ripped off from celebrity endorsements. Rachael Ray is, at best, an overmarketed home cook pretending to be a professional chef on a popular TV show. . With the possible exception of a Vitamix blender, professional chefs don't have much use for most of the cooking equipment used in home kitchens. The best cooking equipment is purchased from a restaurant supply company that sells to professionals.

The British counterpart to Rachel Ray is Sylvana Franco. The first time I saw Sylvana was on a BBC show called “The Best”. It was a competition between three chefs; Sylvana being one of them. The premise of the show was in one room were three people who would send requests for particular dishes. The 3 chefs in the next room (kitchen) would cook up their versions of what was requested. She won most of the tasks with simple dishes that took a fraction of the time and effort of the other two chefs to their dumbfound. At the end of the series they asked her why she kept her dishes so simple. She said that she interviewed many families who told her that they wanted simple recipes that were easy and quick to prepare since coming home from work they were already tired. Both Rachel and Sylvana are my heroes. Cooking doesn’t have to be complicated nor cumbersome. It just needs to be delicious and easy to prepare. Period. #RachelRay

Anthony Bourdain summed up Rachel Ray best: Complain all you want. It's like railing against the pounding surf. She only grows stronger and more powerful. Her ear-shattering tones louder and louder. We KNOW she can't cook. She shrewdly tells us so. So...what is she selling us? Really? She's selling us satisfaction, the smug reassurance that mediocrity is quite enough. She's a friendly, familiar face who appears regularly on our screens to tell us that "Even your dumb, lazy ass can cook this!" Wallowing in your own crapulence on your Cheeto-littered couch you watch her and think, "Hell...I could do that. I ain't gonna...but I could--if I wanted! Now where's my damn jug a Diet Pepsi?" Where the saintly Julia Child sought to raise expectations, to enlighten us, make us better--teach us--and in fact, did, Rachael uses her strange and terrible powers to narcotize her public with her hypnotic mantra of Yummo and Evoo and Sammys. "You're doing just fine. You don't even have to chop an onion--you can buy it already chopped. Aspire to nothing...Just sit there. Have another Triscuit..Sleep...sleep..."

Smucker’s sold Nutrish in 2023. Post Holdings acquired Nutrish from them for $1.2 billion dollars. They also acquired Natures Recipe, 9Lives, Kibbles ‘n Bits and Gravy Train. All of them crappy grocery store bought dog/cat chow brands. I dunno about Nutrish. I used to work for Petsmart. So, I know which brands are of the best quality. Blue Buffalo, Royal Canin and Hill’s Science Diet are pretty good ones. First ingredient should always be a protein, not a by-product protein. No corn. Rice is great. Yams yes. Dogs are omnivores.
