That's where the 'scary' look comes from- it takes years and masses of sensitivity and personality to come close to understanding. Most, never will- in a way they're lucky. When you're on stage, it can be disorientating...so you pick out three people to sing to...1 to the left; 1 in the centre; 1 on the right. I was the guy on the left. I had also taken some LSD, so I had a pretty groovy night!

It wasn't Manchester Uni - it was actually at the Sheffield Leadmill and I was there on the night this was recorded!!! She'd been due to play a while before and the gig was cancelled as she was in hospital with septicemia. I have a video ( somewhere in my attic ) of the performance. I have fond memories of seeing her play live - such a tragic shame the way she died.
