Honestly Nico’s my favorite character on the show. I love her character, and her fight scenes are fire af! And the staff is awesome! Nico is such a compelling character to watch. That’s why it makes me sad that she gets hate.

Chhewie Nico is powerful, but also severely limited. To use her staff, the energy also has to come from within. U saw in season 2 where she struggled to maintain the shielding spell she cast on their bunker home and she eventually used up all of her energy and down the shield went. Also, she is essentially powerless without the staff. She can’t do any magic without it. However, she does come form a long line of witches/sorceresses so she does have innate magical power in her which she then learned how to access in the series finale in the 3 year time jump, but even with her new found prowess in the time jump, she hasn’t reached Dr Strange, Odin, Loki or even MCU Scarlet witch yet in power. Thanos would destroy her without her staff. And lastly, the staff of one itself is a limitation. She can only use one spell one time and that’s it. She can’t say “burn” twice or “freeze” twice, so her powers are limited by her own knowledge of synonyms. For instance, if Nico wanted fire, she would simply say “burn”. Now if she wanted fire again, she can’t say “burn” again Bc she used that incantation already. Now she is limited to all the synonyms of burn in that regard such as fire, ignite, flame, blaze, combust, etc.

Even with her innate magical abilities that she had in the erased timeline/time jump, she is not on par with Loki, Strange, or Wanda (two of witch solo'd Thanos). And we have seen Nico use her magic, but it seems street level at the least. I wouldn't say she could be able to fight Thanos just yet.

She slept a whole school bus and she can keep repeating that over and over, while with the staff she could have only have done that once, and we havent even seen her power yet if she went with the dark magic. As well as if she had a spellbook like Morgan had, she would literally be unstoppable. I think her new profound powers, literally close to no one can stop her

Hmm nico uses blood magic in a sense since the staff needs blood to summon itself .Well in the comics.But then in the comics nico met with the one the one being the staff of one in human form.Where him and her did a new contract .Where instead of blood for spells. He wants to pour a tiny bit of his essence in nicos body .So he can hear the outside world.
