While we were filming this video, someone stole Josh's backpack along with his camera equipment, laptop, and other valuables. It was totally unexpected and we did everything we could to find it. He's a really awesome KZbinr so please check out his channel and show him some support! kzbin.info/door/WZs3J4-EI5nfznIV_lTMJQ

Great to see two amazing KZbinrs collab and be a amazing resource and providing advice about the expectations, reality, and other things about college. I know the video is old. But mr Josh and mr Nic have really helped me throughout my college experience so far. The goods, the positives and challenging moments. Even though I don’t attend a Ivy League. But I thank these guys and another KZbinr mr Kyle Kabarases, who is a final year PhD student, that have helped me through out my college journey. I really mean it. I am not saying it, as just saying it. Like I really mean it. The videos have at least been a sort of motivation, and pointers, when adjustments, and moments both high and low were good and bad. Thank you mr nic, mr Josh, and mr Kyle. As I am almost done with my first semester of my sophomore year of college with my very good excellent good grades. So thank you mr Nic, Mr Josh, and mr Kyle, I hope you guys can reunite, in a future video, and continue providing resources, and advice, even after you have all graduated. @Josh Beasley, @Nic Chae, @Kyle Kabasares.

Loved the vid. I'm just here to say Impostor Syndrom is real as hell and I haven't even gotten into a college yet. But I went to a summer thing AT a college and everyone there was like pro swimmers and they've met Obama and stuff and i felt like i didn't belong there and everyone there was so much better than me and getting over it was hard but I really hope that in college I can accept that I belong there just as much as anybody else.

ytf would you do engineering at Yale
@Capybara-2045 жыл бұрын
I mean he probaly got into a better engineering school but Yale was probaly the best college overall and why would you pass up going to an ivy
@johnrock75305 жыл бұрын
@@Capybara-204 you pass up going to an ivy if it means skewing up your future because the school doesn't foster the same environment for your course, which is engineering in his case. Yale has superficial extracurricular opportunities to demonstrate a passion for engineering. Moreover, if you consider where he'll end up, without the proper motivation and guidance, probably in banking/consulting firms instead of pure engineering companies.
@thecolossus42444 жыл бұрын
@@johnrock7530 which Ivy would you say is best for engineering? Colombia, Penn, or Cornell?
@johnrock75304 жыл бұрын
@@thecolossus4244 id say penn or cornell's. Although columbia SEAS has a lot of academic opportunities, job placement there sucks from observation. I've been paying close attention to where engineering alumni from each of the ivies end up in, and I'll say that ironically even though Columbia's engineering program is ranked high, id personally rank it low just cuz alumni job placement there (ppl end up in consulting mostly instead of traditional tech jobs, unless ure a CS person ig)... Moreover, columbia seas facilities- and clubs- wise is just so underwhelming. It's like one building on campus and thats it. Still id say people will do engineering at columbia to get a strong stem background, but I wouldnt recommend it if ure trying to pursue an engineering career. between penn and cornell, it really depends at this point because at penn, there is more opportunity to pursue interdisciplinary studies especially since they are known for a lot of their dual degree programs between SEAS, CAS and the Wharton school. Cornell's is really really good too, and their job placement in the engineering industry is outstanding. The same is with princeton, which is why im wondering why you didnt include that in your question. So at this point it really depends on fit and your career goals since penn is very pre professional and again is known for its DD programs, whereas the other two are just better in general for stem amongst all the ivies. Job placement among these three are solid, and they have good placement for top grad schools for engineering as well.

It seems ridiculous that people have to use consultants like crimson to get into IVY leagues- at that pt, it’s truly not merit that gets people into these schools but money and questionable application markup.
