Man, the MPS-2C series pull stations would be almost perfect if they hadn't screwed up with the resistor placement! They're durable, easy to use, hard to accidentally activate, and somewhat visually appealing, but a PITA for installers. Very unfortunate, but it's good that you guys got all of these installed without a problem.

For some reason at my school, has disabled, all the annunciators there’s two in the whole building and they said that they disabled them so they can control it from the panel and if you’re wondering what the panel is it’s a notifier I don’t know what kind of panel it, but the CPU looks like a 3030 and yeah there’s a lot of disabled smoke and beam detectors. The reason why those are disabled I believe one time my school was having a party in the high school gym and they asked one of the custodians to disable some smoke detectors in the gym because it gonna be using a fog machine for a party in there, but some of the smoke made it into the locker rooms and set the system off and the fire alarm system was not on test so the fire department responded I believe two fire departments responded because I believe the fire chief and the ladder truck responded also

Hello dear Nic i really love you video's i would say keep up the great work!! But i have a little crazy questions as of the old devices from the school or any building i wanted to ask if i could maybe get some as im planning on making a fire alarm system for in my house, i was trying to make my own devices but so far no luck. As for the device i would need i will make a little list. I would love to get, 4x Alarm bells (the ones from the last video) 4x Strobes (from last vid or any version) 4x pull station (any old version or one you plan on never using) 4x smoke detector (any old version or one you plan on never using) 3x heat detector (any old version or one you plan on never using) 1x any old or new FACP (any old version or one you plan on never using) 1x monitor module and ofc 2x slc loop isolators I know for a fact you will never do it, but if you do remember that i am a 15-year-old boy wanting to follow his dreams. Anyways keep up the good work and if you do somehow convince yourself to send me some stuff feel free to message me or anything.

You have to replace the EST genesis? It has been there like not to long and you still have to replace it. That doesn’t make sense that it is probably like 13 years old and you still have to replace it
@nics-systems-electric3 ай бұрын
Yes? It's not compatible with the new system the panel is less than 10 years old too but you still have to change it that's how it works.
@SomeGuyWithInternet3 ай бұрын
Technically the Genesis probably would have _functioned_ but not correctly. For health and safety reasons, modern codes require that all signals on a system (especially strobes) have to be synchronized, but the ways that alarm manufacturers synchronize their devices are different and often proprietary. The majority of the signals on the old system were unsyncable so they couldn't be kept, and the replacements for those (from System Sensor) are incompatible with the way that the Genesis syncs.
@mingez3 ай бұрын
Very good question @maiyo8518. I wouldn't have realized that a 13 year old strobe is already obsolete! Thanks for asking!
@nics-systems-electric3 ай бұрын

@@mingez yes, fire alarms from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s needs to be replaced. But fire alarms from the early 2000s, I thought they didn’t need to be replaced so that was surprising. The reason why they replaced it because of the system was Edwards so as the genesis is owed by it.
