This is really really helpful. I've been diagnosed with hypertonic pelvic floor dysfunction for over a year now. Still ongoing chronic pain, but finally decided to study the muscles of the pelvis and look for the muscle that is really affecting me. Found another video that said the spots next to anus is a very common pressure point. I pressed on those pressure points by rolling a tennis ball around that area and was extremely surprised that it immediately stopped my period cramps. I've had very very painful periods all my life and I can't say how happy I was; Not even high doses of ibuprofen was able to take my pain away!! This video mentioned all the symptoms I have been experiencing. I've always questioned if pelvic floor PT is the answer to my chronic pain, but now I feel reassured and motivated to continue my journey! Thank you for posting this video :)

Currently dealing with that kind of onset of symptom for the last 4 months. Its not everyday but like once a week or 10 days. Just cant pin point the location but feels deep in around the sphincter or so. Not inside directly but around it. Its the sitting life style that lead to my prob and also stress in life general contributes to these flare ups to happen. Its not so severe but its damn annoying. Specially if it comes out at night.

Thank you for such an informative video. I’ve been suffering with symptoms of levator ani syndrome for the past six months. I have yet to find a health professional who is able to do the triggerpoints on the inside of the rectum. I’m desperate to find relief as it really bothers me when I sit down fir any period of time. It is like having a toothache in my butt. Can I learn to do these triggerpoints on my own? Pls advise.

This such a depressing condition. It has changed my whole personality. Chronically depressed. Never happy. A constant fight or flight mode. Been suffering for 30 years with this affliction. I am a shadow of my former self. The pain and tension spreads through out the body as time goes by. It becomes a musculoskeletal disorder. My Psoas muscle is beyond f'd up. The abs and lower back is also affected. In the 90ies males who got these kind problems where just diagnosed with chronic non bacterial prostatit. But 95 % of the patients hasn't got a prostate problem.

So I’ve dealt with the golf ball sensation for about 9 months. I was extremely active in the gym prior to that, always focusing on my posture when I sat, etc. and this pain in the anal region basically shut my life down since it started. Missed out on many good days since I spent most of my time inside avoiding even sitting properly to not feel that terrible sharp pain from sitting. I thought it was a hemorrhoid for the longest time and approached self treatment from that perspective. I finally went to a proctologist and he shocked me by stating I have no evidence of fissures or hemorrhoids after examining me. I explained in great detail all my symptoms and tried to paint a full picture of what I’ve been dealing with to help get a diagnosis that made sense, because Levator Syndrome, on paper, did not. Long story short, after two sessions of simply massaging the area I’ve been experiencing pain, it shifted away to a new area closer to my tailbone. I knew I was on to something finally. I started gently using a massage gun in that new area and I can honestly say I’m about 90% pain free after only 2 days. The pain was so bad I couldn’t even think of any direct contact with the specific area before just a few days ago, but now I see that it truly was muscle/tension in that area that needs to be worked out, despite the sensation saying otherwise. As you said in the video, I think the lack of attempting to sit more was also prolonging improvement in the condition as well.

Hi Austin, I have exactly the same story, background and issue as you, and may I know if you have completely recovered?
@Str8ABH Жыл бұрын
@@boybakergg Hello, yes I believe I have completely recovered now. I have returned to working out and can fully sit and have normal activities just as I did prior to the initial onset of symptoms. I do occasionally feel some muscle tightness, but I attribute that to the months of not even being able to sit properly and finally being active again.
@boybakergg Жыл бұрын
@@Str8ABH congrats! Mine started on 4/1/2023, and the recovery speed is so slow. May I ask if you use any lotion or medicine,yoga stretch? Have you ever experienced flare up after Internal trigger point release.
@Str8ABH Жыл бұрын
@@boybakergg Thanks! The only things that I have done is massage the area with some moderate pressure, some pelvic floor “thrusts” while lying on my back (a few times a week), and some use of a massage gun with a dull head attached over anywhere that had any tightness from before. I will say, that the first time I did moderate pressure massaging in the area, I literally felt a cramp “release” in the area of discomfort. Similar to if you’ve ever had a cramp in your foot that eventually released/relaxed. It seems like massaging the area has been the most beneficial. I wouldn’t say I’ve had a flare up after massaging, but I would say I’ve had days where I could tell there was some tightness similar to the feeling after a heavy leg workout. Just massaging and flexing the area pretty heavily and it’s back to normal for the most part.
