The beginning's actually bad because horses can break their legs accidentally stepping in rabbit holes. Fun fact: before filming the scene of the Rohirrim charging in Return of the King they had to check the entire field for rabbit holes so the horses wouldn't get hurt.

As a kid I saw the scene of the guy in the cabin being attacked with the woman shooting at it, and for years I had it in my head that he was attacked by a wildcat because after all, why the holy hell would someone legit be attacked by a giant rabbit? Oh well, memory solved. Also, as pleasantly surprising as it is that this movie went far enough to include mutilated bodies, but why would the giant rabbits only eat a little bit of their victims instead of all the food source like any reasonable predator?
