What I like about these Puppet Combo games is how they build up to the horror. Like it's usually really boring stuff in the beginning but eventually when they decide to let the horror aspect kic in, it's often a good payoff.

As a young woman who has worked a graveyard shift 11pm-630am at a rural 24/7 convenience gas station alone for almost a year, this hit home for me. It was everything my worst nightmare was when I was working. When men ask you if you're all alone, it is very intimidating and scary. I had mace, a little stunner, a secret knife that I wasn't supposed to have and I would always grab a fish beater off the shelf to keep with me too. Thankfully I never really had any violent incidences, just awful ones. A druggie got blood on the wall in the bathroom, another tried to flush needles wrapped in toilet paper and clogged the toilet. I had creepers too though....the worst. You never know what their reaction will be. ugh Anyway, looking forward to the new PC game =D

Depends where you work. I'm a woman (only mentioning bc comments said most are men, not exactly always true we had mostly women at mine) and worked there for a couple years and never really felt creeped out at all, even when occasionally covering 3rd shift. But I attribute that to the store being extremely well lit, inside and out, and there always being at least 3 or 4 people working. Plus there was a surveillance contractor that had like 30 cameras around the place. They worked hard on bolstering factors that deter robberies. I moved from my hometown but to my knowledge they've still never been robbed lol.

Bob Roberts other puppet combo games : powerdrill massacre, babysitter bloodbath (both of these games were made when they went under the name pig farmer games though - they weren’t puppet combo then), the night ripper & nun massacre. nun massacre is the newest game. they made this prologue and the actual game that follows this prologue (stay out of the house) is supposed to be out soon, i’ve played some of the different versions of that game and it’s came along super good.

Not if you live the 'States, it isn't. Every gas station I know of keeps a handgun or shotgun within easy reach under the counter. Hell, according to where the gas station is located it might also have bulletproof glass in the windows and around the register to protect cashier, a panic button that slams bulletproof glass and chain-link fence down over the register and all doors and windows while the alarm alerts the cops, and/or a cop car permanently parked in the parking lot to attempt to dissuade would be robbers.

Definitely a big fan of this sort of horror, one that you can relate to. I remember my time working at a gas station, we'd always get some shady customers during the evening hours. Being alone at night definitely increases the fear factor a lot, especially if you get nervous easily. We, however, had the advantage of being in the middle of a small town. I can't even begin to describe how bloody unsafe I'd feel at a gas station such as this one in the middle of nowhere, nothing but trees around. This is what I mean, the sort of horror that feels real in a very disturbing manner. Any sort of e.g. home invasion horror, be it at your house or place of work, just works really well for me.

This demo is a fine example of what a psychological horror game is like when done properly. It tries to lull the player into a false sense of security with an "innocent" start and some everyday tasks. It tries to distract us from the fact we're playing a horror game yet at the same time amplifies that feeling of suspicion and paranoia the longer it goes on without any action or jumpscare. That creepy, afro guy, the sound of the back door opening amidst the silence and the killer actually hiding and waiting for you was nothing short of amazing and well executed. Just gets to show you don't need monsters, jumpscares, chase scenes and endless key quests to deliver a scary experience.
