It's really cool that this actually ended up different from Kravin's playthrough. He never went back to the computer game and so never got the phonecall, none of the weird business with the corrupted video game ever happened, and the tower never set on fire. His dream 'death' happened in the shack outside and he was killed by a guy in a fireman outfit.

My theory is that there is an actual arsonist serial killer that kills the ranger either by burning the tower or killing him directly, then the ranger ends up in Hell where the PDM killer lurks. The reason I think this is because of the satanic pentagram and the biblical quotes at the end of both this game and PDM. Also, the protagonist from PDM has a car crash before she investigates the abandoned factory, some have theorized that she died and ended up in Hell/purgatory. Interesting fact is that in PDM if you're lucky you can catch a glimpse of a little ghost girl, just like the one described in the text video game...

huh. Watching this again later in the minotaur game, you die - pretty sure it's mandatory - and wake up as a spirit after being followed and then killed by something (which sounds like a revving engine, apparently?). Jim experiences someone stalking him, and then burns to death, waking up back on the bed - the sacrificial altar? Then, in the game, you help the little girl, and then she leads you into hell, where you glitch out and are trapped forever. Jim offers to come help a camper, not because he wants to, but because the situation gives him no choice. The campers are afraid of something that sounds like a human mimicking an animal. Minotaur? Teddy bear = doll. The weird pool = the lake? the fire = the heat? i don't know. something something jim was dead the whole time after the fire? beats me i don't know what's happening in the puppet combo cinematic universe

Based on some of the stuff I'm reading, it sounds like the game isn't quite as linear / on-rails as it appears here. This was probably one of my least favorite Puppet Combo games. It has potential, but imo, it takes too long to get anywhere and has too much downtime. It also doesn't really felt like the player is actually in danger of being killed most of the time, even though some moments were pretty good. And I don't mind the more narrative focused games, but I think they've done it better with a better scare factor, like Night Shift.
