My mum used to read some books about teaching sign language to babies before my brother was born. It allows them to communicate a lot sooner and tell you when they are hungry etc. so that instead of crying all the time, they can tell you when they are hungry or tired. Mum found it really helpful.

Hey Sarah! :). I am really into child development and parenting/educating stuff so I have some book recommendations for you!! Some of them are for older kids like 2-6 but they are still very interesting to read for soon to be parents. I don't have kids yet but I am so glad I read these books before having any. They definitely got me thinking about what kind of parenting philosophy and "discipline" I wanted to use. - Positive Discipline, Jane Nelsen -The Whole-Brain Child, Dan Siegel -How to talk so little kids will listen, Joanne Faber -The Absorbent Mind, Maria Montessori -Any books from Magda Gerber -You can also look into Pikler -Zero to three website -The Beginning of Life Docu series on Netflix is soooo good, very informative and inspiring Also I think that learning about child development (language, motor, emotional, social etc.) will help you immensely in understanding which stage your baby is at and how best you can help him develop at its full potential. There are free course online you can take, on edX for example. I hope this helps you and Kurt!! Let me know :) xo

CAUTION: heard from my midwife, (45 yrs experience). Essential oils can be highly estrogenic. Don't want an overload of estrogen during pregnancy. Just be careful.
@vidz9536 жыл бұрын
Good call! It's also my understanding (I could be totally wrong, though) that it can be bad for pets as well (if they're exposed to too much).
@hadesbaby_6 жыл бұрын
This is true! essential oil misters/machines can be toxic to pets
@caitlanjolley56956 жыл бұрын
To be honest it is safe to use in pregnancy. And as for dogs or pets. They will deter from the smell if they don’t like it. I use essential oils around my cat all the time and he just stays away if he doesn’t like it
@alexisleonard9846 жыл бұрын
Essential Oils are perfectly safe to use during pregnancy/with animals, only if they are Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade. If a bottle says "100% pure" it DOES NOT mean it's pure. CPTG oils like Dōterra are so pure you can ingest them. And for animals if you have it diffusing in the room just leave the door open so that if they don't like it they can leave!
@Squares09876 жыл бұрын
Actually just to clarify the more pure an essential oil is the more potent/toxic it can be to animals. Not all, but especially tea tree and eucalyptus have been fatal to dogs and cats. Natural doesn’t mean safe, especially for our furry friends :)

It is called "The Natural Pregnancy Book: Herbs, Nutrition, and other Holistic Choices" by Dr. Aviva Jill Romm. It speaks in a way that is meant to empower you and create healthy and positive mantras. Much love to you guys! :)
