Hello, this build is still plenty viable especially for PVE even after 1.05 Night comet does not always have to be chain casted. When you need to chain cast, jump cast night shard => night comet still works. This is more of an issue for reacting in the PVP build because jump night shard => night comet is more obvious. One more thing because I've gotten way too many of the same question: Godfrey Icon doesn't buff Night's Comet if you don't fully charge night comet, so it isn't very useful for this build as you chain cast your night comets.

@@VigoDoria You will still be doing slightly more damage with 2x staff of loss at 80/80 but at 99/99 you're definitely better with mainhand PoD staff. However, with a mainhand staff that isn't Staff of Loss, you can better combine other spells if you want to mix in something else.

@@Chrightt Getting the second staff of loss was one of my motivator for NG+, I even upgraded my first one to +25. I could rebirth the faith points elsewhere but that would also lose the utility of incantations. So at my point, best course of action is to go 99/99 and have the staff of loss offhand. I wish the meteorite staff could be upgraded, then it would be worthwhile to dual wield for rock slings he-he. Thank you for the answers, you are awesome.

Have you checked out the math on Ritual Shield Talisman over Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman for high NG cycles? I've found the flat 30% boost to be *amazing* a lot of the time. Mostly, I'll take hits one, or maybe two, at a time, and often it saves me a flask, despite needing to keep my HP topped up.

small tips: 1. holding the "switch spell" button will switch to the first spell in memory slot, good for switching spells during fights 2. swift glintstone pebble can cast in air, after roll, and running, it could be a easier way to start the combo in some scenario edit: just tested night shard, also able to cast in air, after roll, running, it is the better choice for this build

Holding the switch spell works great for builds with more spells! I usually just scroll for this build cause there's only 4 spells. It's faster than holding the button.

@@Chrightt ^ just like equipping all 6 melee slots and having your Quick Items fully equipped can be cumbersome (when you really only use a couple things), having all spell slots equipped is just unwieldy, especially when only a few are necessary.

@@Kezzic Though part of the fun of a caster is just having a carnival of spells you can throw out and chain together. "You get an arrow, you get a sword thrust, you get rocks to the face..." And so on. I find that the most interesting part of a late game magic build is figuring out how best your spells can interact with each other and then chaining them in effective ways. Like using the death sorcery to stunlock them so you can cast slower, high damaging spells. Setting up a lingering AoE spell and then pulling them in with gravity. That kind of play is definitely nowhere near as effective as spamming night shard of course, but it is more fun imo.

I like to switch spell during dodging attacks, then use the spell right after, holding down the button to switch is easier when you are also inputing other moves.

In the spreadsheet there are the motion values for each attack from a moveset, but for Ashes of War there are also values for AtkPhys, AtkMag, etc. What are these and how are they factored into damage dealt?

Really looking forward to any and all build (or otherwise) videos. Something I haven't seen yet is an Arcane build that doesn't use bleed. Thanks! The problem for arcane is a big part of its power comes from scaling status buildup (and it only includes poison, madness, and bleed). Since madness doesn't work on most PVE enemies, people tend to choose bleed since bleed finishes enemies off faster than poison. It is also why Occult infusion is typically weak when the weapon doesn't have innate status build up. There are some weapons that scale to arcane without any build up though... I'll explore more of them in detail!

I actually have an Arcane INT/FTH hybrid caster build, the Albinauric Staff and Dragon Communion seal are very potent letting you primarily scale using Arcane as your main casting stat (which the seal and staff both have a hard cap at about 45-50) due to Marika's Soarseal and the Silver Tear mask giving you a solid +13 Arcane and +5 to INT/FTH and Mind. Its alot of fun using dragon spells, blood magic, pyromancy and death magic on the same build.

This build is truly a lot of fun both in pvp and pve. I have one recommendation though which is the wear the Briar Gauntlets so that when you fight skeletons and other undead that can revive you roll through their glowing bone pile after nuking them with the night sorcery and the briar gauntlets do just enough damage to stop the revival. Makes for a much more satisfying experience against those foes.

If you don't rely on a certain ash of war, it could be useful to change your spell swap button to one of the shoulder buttons. It makes it much easier to swap your spells while doing other things.

"Since we don't have faith for cleansing debuffs" while this is true, law of regression is a pure intelligence incantation and acts as a psudo cleanse for all negative status effects and their buildup at the expense of also negating any temp buffs you may have active, as well as a longer cast animation than flame cleanse me (and costing more FP+needing a seal to cast). It is a great tool in PvE for when you are in an area that has a lot of status effects so you can save consumables, and IMO a must slot for PvP to take care of the hard counter to mage, barrier of gold, because BoG grants a 60% magic resist for a full minute (as a bonus, regression also counters the players that love to stack 3+ buffs and physik). It can be awkward to get off in PvP combat, but almost always worth tanking a hit to remove BoG unless they are running a one shot build.

My build, astrologer. 150 40 vig 50 mind 15 end 16 str 12 dex 80 int You’re a full caster, you have enough strength and dex for both MGS or the axe he mentioned. He’s pretty much laid the talismans down, but I often use primal glintstone because it feels like having 60 mind. I’ve been using a lot of close spells cause of pride, and it’s honestly been working well. Slicer - powerful spell for the FP cost, out performs every spell in the game. Shard Spiral - séllens quest can have this unlocked if you help her, it’s a very good spell. It tracks very well and staggers as well, optimal in both pve and pvp. Shattering crystal - underrated but great for roll catching and just baiting a spell follow up, does pretty good damage and you can charge it to mess with the player. Carian piercer - bro, this spell is dumb, wouldn’t be surprised if it’s nerfed. It knocks back any knockable enemy. I abused this on Malenia when I needed a breather or wanted to give host a breather. Found ruin of stars - this is just nice gap spell, don’t expect to kill anyone but know that most don’t wanna risk jumping in which can let you FP or add more dps onto enemies. Collapsing stars - very great, I leave this as my last spell, no matter what I add in between, because after it comes my carian slicer. It does great damage, and pulls enemies which you can’t hate. Hate birds? Yeah, birds hate this and I’ve had an easy time in any area that has flying freaks. How I listed them is pretty much how I have those spells, carian slicer will always be your quick rest slot. Use shattering crystal to bait with a quick swap to piercer. Adulas Moonblade isn’t a bad choice, I do enjoy it, but if you opt for less mind, use the greatsword version. For pve you always want either moon spells. A solid melee weapon is any straight sword with pebble. MGS is amazing this patch going forward, and you have just the needed amount to wield it. At 80 int, with scorpion on, it does 824 AR, and 897 with the buff. Armor isn’t too bad honestly, plenty of sets will work within your endurance, I’m rocking the drake knight with haligtree helm. But one thing I will say is radagon icon, it does help and I recommend it. Love the vid, learned alot from it, gonna have to give those night spells a try.

Honestly, the thing that I'm liking about your build the most is that it's not just regurgitating the same stuff all the time. Instead of saying "Just use moonveil", or "just use this glitch" (which I don't know why anyone would actually suggest just abusing something like that) you are giving a new, fresh look at what you can do, as well as backing up what you are saying is good with more than "watch me blow up this boss with my infinite FP," which is a one time thing at any time, and can't be used for too long. This instead says "You think this is a worthless spell, but I'm gonna just hit for more than a comet spell with less FP and stamina."

I didnt realize the passive buff to a staff's spell school could stack with itself... neat. One thing I would add is law of regression for pvp. This incantation only requires 37 intellect to cast and can remove debuffs and buffs. No need to spec into faith at all and its rather handy as a mage.

Well you need to get yourself a sacred seal. Let me tell you, i had m first plathrough as a mage, and second as strength faith. First plathrough i didnt even know what a sacred seal was, i kid you not. I had to look up how to use incantations because i tried to use law of regression and had no idea why it was not working.

@@Sharkamfss i would say the commitment you have to have to get the frenzied seal is more then the commitment to get a low level seal that requires a little faith. since you literally are locked into that ending unless you use miquellas needle in a special spot. why would you even suggest the frenzied flame seal? I only said i didnt even know what a seal even was on my mage playthrough, and i did ending of stars. I'm very familiar with faith and incantations now, considering i have 100 hours on a strength faith character and its on first ng+

Switching talismans to increase faith just to use one spell is quite cumbersome and isn't exactly viable in a duel or invasion. Getting it is only a matter of time and it's pretty doable if you know the fastest route.

Oh this is very useful. I also ran this build back when some other people pointed out how it is better and more efficient to use Night Sorceries. I'm quite surprised to have a similar build except I put in more spells like Loretta's for the ranged and knockback. (Incase I get to push people off the ledge... I find it fun...) I also have the Carian Slicer and Adula's Moonblade for melee but I do think that it is unnecessary. It's just there for the style. I really like the Melee Magic. It's really good for roll-catching apparently, with the Carian Piercer but I find it easier with Slicer, I think. I do wish we can just put Carian Slicer or Adula's Moonblade as an Ash of War on the sticks, instead costing spells but that's kind of the shtick of using Sorceries. I just want more variety to put there on Ash of War and I just ended up using Mods for PVE stuff. So I can put whatever Ash of War I want. Like BHS. That aside, I think the only reason why we can't put BHS on Staffs is for balancing. It'd be insane to fight a Mage that can dual-wield staffs that has BHS on it.

I wish there were "Ashes of War" for staffs (and seals), which are essentially just spells to slot into the staff, so you could remove the melee attack (which let's be honest, is useless) with a spell. that way you could R2/L2 and always cast this one specific spell, no matter what you have selected in your spell cycle. would make casting so much more fun and versatile, without the hassle of switching. I also don't think it would be OP in any way - melee weapons get R1, R2, L1 (if dual wield) as standard AND an AoW that potentially has follow-ups on top. really enjoyed this video. I hope we see more build suggestions like this, alongside your more general analysis (which is also amazing!). this channel was a great find.

so I finally beat the Elden beast using this build. I was level 160 and added the extra to int/vigor. I also did not have the magic scorpion charm nor did I have a second staff of loss so my comet was not hitting as hard as your build but the build is so strong I managed. I will get the charm this time around from sulivan as I missed that for some reason. Thank you for taking the time to explain and posting this build. I tried your build late game so I will continue this on NG+ when I decide to start it. very thorough and easy to understand the way you explain everything.

I took your build and ran with it. But wanted to stay below level 150 so I swapped the Ritual sword for shield+ dragocrest for Radagons Icon. So, I can attest that this works VERY well. Switched from a simple Uchi build that got me to Lyndell, got there and decided that I had enough lvls to switch to sorc. Did a basic int build using the glintstone spells and the laser, was decent but still a bit meh, then I read on reddit about dual staves, I remembered seeing Chright and some video about dual staves, that led me here, and with the Carian Royal Scepter and Staff of Loss, I walked through the game haha. OFC Malenia, and Elden Beast made me spend WAY too many rune arcs to beat, but this build is unbeatable (Ignoring Renalla in NG+ because she was my first death by boss even after I killed Godrick and Mogh, never dont keep a sword equipped anymore haha). Anyway, love your work Chrightt, love the detail and proofs, numbers, numbers, numbers my man, keep it up.

I heared the staff of loss boosts night sorceries by 30%. Significantly higher compared to the other staffs and their sorcery classes. I didn't know that if you have 2, those 2 sets of 30% would stack. Too bad it doesn't boost night maiden's mist because that's the spell I love using to cheese everything.

Other useful spells. Ambush Shard: It is a night sorcery but for some reason isn't affected by staff of Loss's bonus. Probably a glitch. Hits people from behind with shields up, hits people who are directly below you when you climb up somewhere the enemy can't reach. Hidden Body and Roiling Magma: Cast hidden body, cast charged roiling magma at the ground near group of enemies (don't hit the enemy or it won't explode, and will alert them). Immediately crouch again and go to cover. It'll explode, dealing large damage and the enemies who went to investigate will stand in the lava, not knowing where you are. Also, you can cast night shard while jumping, to hit things behind some cover.

I've been running a sorcerer that only uses night sorcery, while including Ranni's Dark Moon, and it's been simple and fun. I'm glad I came across this video because I didn't know the Staff of Loss stacked it's effect, it sounds like something that would get patched. I've been using Assassin's Gambit on a dagger in the second slot and a Miséricorde with Bloodhound Step in the first slot. Would love to see more of this build for a PvP scenario.

Pretty sure this is an intended effect, so it won't be patched. This works for pretty much all other % multiplier bonuses that doesn't create an icon below your HP/stam/FP bar.

Also on my build I hold magic infused misericorde in right hand, so when boss gets staggered I can go at it. Man that does damage! Really satisfying and fun you can usually get in the crit plus bunch of small stabs with the dagger, way more damage than I was expecting.

I'll be honest I started noticing the benefits of night sorcery when the game was still initially very popular. Fortunately for me I had a buddy who I played with that traded me his staff of loss in the first playthrough for my mogues spear and I know what you're all going to say that was a horrible trade but being able to dual wield two staves of loss with night sorcery using an astrologer definitely worked in my favor and this was before any videos like this were created.

So I’m new to Mage. Iv always played a strength build 2 hand UGS on my blind playthrough. It’s just a bit easier for me as I’m not great at these game, however I love them. Subsequent playthroughs generally use Quality build so I can play with more weapons. Great question. I'm running a very similar build to this, but I invested heavily into dex for cast speed (and dual dagger frost shenanigans). I also tried the dual staffing with carian regal (like to open big fights with ranni's dark moon) but felt the minor bump was less useful than having my misericorde out and ready to bloodhound step or crit.

Casting speed for this build is not very important because for regular mobs you tend to just one shot them (sometimes 2 at most). Since you break off from your cast chain and cast speed doesn't affect initial startup animation, it isn't that great for this build specifically. It is a lot more quality of life for some of the slower spell builds to to react better though (but a personal preference at the end of the day). I find myself forgoing cast speed in PVE scenarios and maybe slotting Radagon Icon for PVP depending on build.

Yeah, we were running and recommending this build on discord servers for a while. Some people were/are very resistant to this but its the highest dps spell in the game, and bosses/enemies dont dodge it either. Was gonna try and make a video myself but good to see a video made about this. A lot of people even linked to your very video on "the REAL best glintstone staff" to delegitimise my build of dual staves of losses night comet. Taking it as a holy gospel and saying that my build was bad cuz an in depth video missed this interaction. One could also include other good situational spells like lorettas bow, great glintstone shard, cannon of haima, adula moonblade, rannis moon, comet azure, meteorite of astel, and crystal barrage. For conserving FP, longer range, applying debuffs, and dealing even more massive dmg. Each is good in its own unique scenario.

Ah, thanks for telling me. I explicitly stated on my glintstone staff video description & pinned comment that it was about a singular staff :\ Sorry that had to happen. I actually played this build from the first week, but was busy playing/planning vids and stuff instead of making videos so this took quite a long time. As for the 3rd paragraph, I kind of disagree there. While there are other spells that gives you different options, they are in general not more FP efficient nor have a highher DPS (at least on dual staff of losses). Also, the whole point of this build is to use fewer spells to do more as you pretty much outperform regular spell builds without the hassle of slotting 8 spells when 2 can do the job better.

@@Chrightt Nah bro. no need to say sorry. people who blindly believe stuff without using even a bit of logic/math are doomed for this kinda stuff anyways. Was just kinda annoying people clowning on me ig. And I am glad you are the very person to now clear it up. Comparing Carian Regal to Dual Loss: Crystal Barrage is only 10 to 16% less dps than night comet but costs half the FP. It probably out dpses with a single staff of Loss + carian regal as that is about a 22% loss in night comet dps. Also more stamina efficient. Great Glintstone Shard is great for trash mobs since it too is more FP efficient. Other spells are just situational mostly. I get that you are going for a theme so you didn't include more spells. But for a pure mage build it can be beneficial to slot in stuff like gavel for crystalians, loretta for long range, etc. it also generally makes game more fun and varried. One will still end up spamming night shard + night comet for 90% of the game but if u just slot em in first and second slot u can hold up button to quickly switch to those. Also, turtle neck + turtle talisman can be good since this saps stamina very quickly when chaincasting. With both those effects, u can cast night comet twice once u recover from 0 stamina. Green Crystal Tear is useful too.

I think you're slightly overestimating crystal barrage a bit because it has a lot of other aspects to consider that are not just raw damage or FP/stamina consumption. First up, let's assume you always hit with every projectile (which is not true and a large part of night sorceries is its anti-dodge function while still having the slight tracking). I think it is a very good spell (especially being very FP/stamina efficient). However, a large reason why it is not compared here is because it lacks the range (which increases its chances of missing too if you're too far away) and is completely stationary. It also has twice the startup frame so for trash mobs I can just do 2x night shard (which, btw, is more FP efficient than great glintstone shard). You can try testing crystal barrage again, but even if you're not running dual-loss setup, crystal barrage's damage is still a tiny bit lower than carian+loss chain cast night comet at 80 intelligence level (dependent on enemy magic def of course with higher NG having higher defense and favoring loss. Also, as a bonus, night comet DPS comes in bursts when the night comet fires off - which is actually better since if enemies die quicker, less time for them to attack). Furthermore, it isn't like crystal barrage doesn't have a recovery period for after you hold the spell. You also can't choose to dodge in between like you can just roll away through your night comet chains. You must choose to hold crystal barrage at the very start. There is also one other caveat. Because of how MVs and defense works in this game, pre-80 intelligence level crystal barrage is even weaker because its damage is split into too many hits. So, yes, at endgame crystal barrage is a great spell. It is ironically quite bad early game (despite being readily available early on). Overall, a great spell for sure, but not a lot of point of me adding it to the build not because of thematic issues, but rather because it simply underperforms in multiple departments that I think matter more. Yes, it can be more FP/Stamina efficient, but I already don't run out of FP pots by the time crystal barrage is good. And this was written with regal + loss in mind. Loss + loss, there just isn't a whole lot of point running any glintstone type spells. As for the fun part, I actually have 2 caster characters (1 prisoner and 1 astrologer). I've tried the other sorceries too, but this became my favorite build because rather than cycling through a list of 7-8 spells, I found it more fun trying to use the limited tools in more creative ways to get past my enemies in exploration. For sure a lot of spells are situationally good, but part of the fun for me comes from brainstorming my approach so I can avoid having to fire at enemies with their shield up for example by just sniping them with a charged night comet. I'm not saying your playstyle is wrong or anything, and I don't mean to be rude. I'm just trying to explain why my build didn't include those spells. I think it's great people can optimize their build for their own needs. My version just doesn't happen to need those spells is all. Hope you understand where I'm coming from. Also, one last thing. Sometimes you just need to believe you're right and ignore the naysayers. I mean, I said moonveil/RoB are actually good katanas in my katana guide and plenty of salty people still insult me. It is impossible to please everyone, so just come to realize when you should listen to the suggestions of others or ignore them :) Sorry this message dragged out so long. It was nice meeting you. ​@@Chrightt My friend said he tested crystal barrage (including recovery and casting frames) and it did only 16% or so less dps on carian regal vs dual loss. I agree that it is a tiny bit lower than dual loss, but it does do more dmg for the people who do not want to bother with dual staff of loss (including recovery). i understand all the drawbacks that u are suggesting and i completely agree. but I do think it is an indespensible part of a mage's toolkit due to all of the advantages (higher fp efficiency, stamina efficiency, and higher dps with single loss). Especially in haligtree and such areas where I used to run out of FP quite a bit with night comet. As for the claims about it doing less dps even with carian regal + loss, I might need to test them on my own since my friend said 16% less dps(including recovery frames), and as i said previously, swapping loss for a regal should cause a 22% reduction in dps for dual loss. But yeah, will just test on my own later. Cuz crystal barrage recently got buffed. Would also like to/want to test out how much crystal barrage sucks early. Cuz if it is very bad then I might need to switch what I recommend to early game players. Probably back to pebble or GGS maybe. Night comet is too fp costly to be used early game imo. And I completely get that u cant please everyone and ur videos great. dw about that part. You like to play with less spells, some like to play with more :shrug:

I've been running the same build and can't think of anything more powerful than this. Another great melee weapon option is Clayman's Harpoon. It's a buffable (e.g. Scholar's Armament), INT-scaling spear with an Ash of War slot.

I started a new game and giving this a try. My first go at an int based character. One thing I’m finding is that there’s just many situations where it’s better to fight without spells, using Moonveil katana etc.

I actually had the opposite experience. Moonveil is highly overrated for me. Sure, the WA is strong, but for PVE you end up taking damage here or there at close range and have to take risks. Whereas I usually just ignore learning bosses completely because they die in a few sec on this build (easily higher DPS than moonveil since moonveil has a long recovery time). This is, of course, after completing the build. If you're in the very early stages of a playthrough on the first game, moonveil is definitely better. This is an endgame build when everything is done.

At risk of being a little glassier, you could replace the Greatshield Talisman with Radagon Icon for faster chaincasting, Godfrey Icon for better charged damage on Night Comet, Marika's Soreseal for 10 more relevant levels, Ancestral Spirits Horn or Primal Glintstone Blade if you're gonna be on a longer run without a grace, or whatever niche talisman happens to fit in the current situation. Also, Ambush Shard, while weaker, is boosted by the Staff of Loss as well and can be used for taking down enemies that are tanky in the front, like the barrier slimes in Nokstella, or any enemy with a sizeable shield and bothersome turtle tendencies.

Marika's soreseal is crap for 10 points of stat even for 15. This wiill come in my talisman video. Godfrey Icon only buffs fully charged night comet, which I don't usually do but is usable. Ancestral Spirit's Horn is something I don't find myself using either because this build typically has enough FP to last a long time with just 6 FP flasks even when you max out your flasks. As for Ambush Shard, it does NOT get buffed by staff of loss! I usually deal with shield enemies by just killing them before they see me.

I run this buils, with one difference, i have snow witch hat + Moon Blade / Dark moon. The snow witch hat gives a buff to cold damage, which both moon blade and dark moon are. Dark moon is very good at catching people out at range, it's surprising how many people fail to effectively dodge it. Moon blade is still good, works better in pve for clearing large masses of mobs imo, whilst still being useful in pvp.

Does the night shard + comet combo still work? The night comet doesnt seem to cast direcly after I cast night shard. Idk if they fixed it or something. It does work tho when jumping + casting night shard and dircetly after that casting comet.

We already have OP pve builds everywhere and we pretty much all done 5-6 playthoughts with differents builds. Yep, regal as the casting weapon. At super late game when you have 80+int and faith you can swap to prince of death for mainhand too.

I was very sceptical of this build until I tested it, because I kill bosses well with rocksling, meteorite/regal staves....but with my old setup first hit is only 1512...with new staff of loss at level 20 s scaling, and main hand regal scepter I get 3324...all this testing was done with 99 int, 80 dex so I'm switching to night comet.

If you don't have a second SoL yet, use Carian Regal as your mainhand and your SoL as your offhand. Good preparation for the full build (remember to cast with carian regal as it has a higher sorcery rating).

I'd like to throw in here that Night Maiden's mist is a spell that can absolute melt boss healthbars with even low sorcery scaling and using non-Loss staves. I wouldn't be surprised if late game a single cast can net you multiples thousands of damage

I pretty much enjoy all the data and effort behind your analysis. I really want to go for a most optimized build /RL 125, mainly PVEing) and this is even better than what I had before. Still some questions if you do not mind answering... 1) I missed the magic scorpion charm and wonder how I best replace it. I can follow your inputs about Godfreys and Radagons, so perhaps another one: what do you think of Arrows Reach Talisman? I saw that It extends also spell range. I tried for myself but could not really figure out - do you have the possibility in your pixel thing matrix to see how more far we can hit at full damage with Night Shard and Night Comet (and Rock Sling) with that talisman? 2) I have only invested in INT, MIN and VIG, everything else is at Astrologers base stats. Therefor I am limited to some of the daggers and Straight Swords (also enjoyed that video from you) on close range or a Rapier/Nobles Estoc - Which of all those do you recommend as melee option for this build from the maths? Which ash of War? So bloodhound step for one, for another one perhaps Golden Vow? Or pebbles / Redmanes for staggering? 3) What about Carian Slicer for up close? 4) You use for Rock Sling also Meteorite Staff to buff gravity while casting with Regals? Or is that too much weapon swapping in your opinion? Cause I really face myself sometimes in having changed things too much and suddenly have in a hectic situation the wrong spell/weapon in place.... It doesn't work for spell range. Even if it did, range is not your primary issue. For a melee option, it doesn't matter much if you're not going to swing it around much because it is mostly for the BHS. It depends on your personal preference what melee moveset you're more comfortable with. AoW-wise you don't really need much other than BHS unless you really like the AoW or need more damage. Redmanes is not a good choice for this build because it is str scaling. Pebble/Golden vow is fine but I suggest golden vow to just boost your night spell damage instead of taking up a long animation for pebble since comet out DPS pebble and has a longer range. I don't use carian slicer much because again, comet just out DPS slicer. For regular gameplay if you learn chain casting or just spam shard you're fine with any regular mob close up. For bosses you do like twice the damage you can do with slicer with comet. Meteorite staff feels like too much weapon swapping. I pretty much almost always only tab through 2 weapons per hand.

Carian Regal for mainhand. I don't suggest running Lusat's if you're below RL150 as it is quite costly for a small benefit.

I don't know whether the Sacrificial Axe FP regeneration is part of the bug currently affecting spellcasters, like Golden Vow and Flame Grant me Strength no longer working for us. But...I repeatedly tested this today on a group of six that drained my FP bar while using Night Comet, and, whether I had the axe on or not, I was left with 5FP after the circuit. Sadness 8(
