As you go through the journey that is Nightwish, you will find a whole lot of Easter eggs in each song. Tuomas lends parts from one song to another. Example in this video you can hear influences from the song Sahara in the break from dark passion play. So this is your 3 song of Nightwish, the rabbit hole is deep. The journey well well worth it.

The celtic atmosphere at the end was created by Troy Donockly on the Uilleann Pipes, the whole production has British elements as it was recorded in the Abbey Road studios London.

3rd single from the brand new 10th album ,Yesterwynde, first album recorded with Jukka Koskinen on bass, he came from Wintersun same as Kai on drums, joining in 2021(permanent in 2022) after the departure of longtime bassist and vocalist Marko Hietala in 2021. Yes it's different from previous albums , but it's still Nightwish. The album is the 3rd in a trilogy of albums, along with Endless Forms Most Beautiful, and Human:II:Nature, all with themes dealing with life, science, nature, evolution, time, etc. Yesterwynde is a made up word, they didn't know what to call it, how to express what they wanted , so Troy made it up. Troy Donockley , from Cumbria U.K., is a multi instrumentalist playing at the end of this song on the Uilleann pipes, the Irish version of bagpipes that uses a bellows squeezed by the elbow to inflate the bag. Uilleann is the Gaelic word for elbow. This allows the user to sing as well, which you will hear in other songs. Troy joined in 2007, made permanent in 2013 , along with Floor. This is the longest song on the album, 4 singles the other 3 are "Perfume of the Timeless" , "The Day of...", and the ballad "Lanternlight" To see Troy on the Uilleann pipes, try "I Want My Tears Back" from the Buenos Aires 2018 concert (2019 Decades DVD), plus a fun song with Floor dancing all over the stage.

Tuomas wanted to put all NW elements into this story he tells out to the world. In 10:13 not going enywhere...nooooo...you should know that Tuomas organizes surprises and just wait for a while. Troy plays the final with so strong feeling of being an islander.

Yesterwynde kinda feels like a hybrid between Nightwish and Auri. So far I have only listened to Perfume of the Timeless, The Day of, An Ocean of Strange Islands, and Lanternlight, and I have to say, I like what I'm hearing this far. I have been a Nightwish fan since the Tarja days, and they have yet to release an album I don't like, I doubt it will ever happen, though. My favorites on Yesterwynde so far is An Ocean of Strange Islands, and Lanternlight, I think. I preordered it on CD, but haven't recieved it yet, I guess the weekend got in the way.

Spot on with the Auri references. Love how Tuomas is pulling some of that atmospheric feel into Nightwish.

If you stick with Nightwish your in for a journey that's wonderful and full of masterpiece's, Tuomas Holopainen on the Keyboards is called the Mozart of Metal and is the composer of their music. Enjoy your journey, the rabbit hole runs very deep. If you here from Gabriel in the comment section he is referred to as the General of the Nightwish Army, he will help guide you through the Nightwish journey. 😀
