@@sasailicc The whole point is not only in the only parameter, like the frequency of the voice (especially since the ability to make a high-frequency sound is higher in Floor, as I can conclude by comparing many of their songs, Tarja doesn't sing at all in a wide range). And more I appreciate the strength and versatility of the vocalist's voice apparatus. And Floor is a really strong woman with a developed strong voice, lungs of large volume, which allows her to keep an even sound, both to sing quietly and to sing very loudly and much more intensely than Tarja, making her performance more dynamic and interesting, she is able to sing very long phrases in one breath . In these senses, Tarja is not even close to Floor. It's nothing personal, you can love them both, I'm just trying to analyze technically objectively.

@@sasailicc 'look easy' - is for another reason, it's because she doesn't try to sing too loudly or intensely, which would require her to be in better physical shape and have more stored energy. Floor, too, could not have strained too much, but then, unlike her loud cry, it would not have given such a vivid expressiveness of experiences, emotions and involvement, for which I appreciate her performances. Take for example Wacken 2013: Ever Dream. How much despair in that cry of Floor, how intense was the sound at the end! It looked like a cry from the heart. But you also see quiet, soulful fragments of singing. However, the performance of this song by Tarja, when compared, looks somehow formal and monotonous, there are no those hysterical notes demonstrating, as it were, suffering, there is no increase in either intensity or tonality at the end of the song, the whole song is performed in the same style at medium volume, like a news announcer from TV - is boring!

Different opinion, I think that Tarja just doesn't have the variety as Floor has. She is "only" a Opera singer! There is nothing wrong with that it only makes her more restricted! Her stage performance is nothing compares to Floor's stage performance. Why do you think that Floor is so popular all over the world! She put Nightwish to the next level. Don't get me wrong I like Tarja very much but she is overal not at the same level as Floor is.

I have been watching this band for years now, and still, Floor is my favourite. She just sounds amazing in my opinion, and everywhere I go, literally when I go to vacation, this is the song that I always come back to. Both of their voice is a blessing from god. ​@@user-tl2id4li7n насколько понимаю, Туомас менял вокалисток потому, что ему хотелось вокал попроще, чем у Тарьи, попопсовее. У Аннет оказалось слишком попроще, правда, сейчас она мне больше нравится, чем Тарья и Найтвишь отдельно. А Флор может дать и сильнее вокал. А я Нихтфиш забросил после их музыкальных экспериментов - после Вишмастера ещё один-два альбома и всё - дальше пошло неинтересное гониво. Самая круть была 2ой и 3ий альбомы - где-то так - а дальше пошло на спад или даже, наверно, Туомас начал искать другой стиль - они ушли от power-metal и стали больше скатываться в какую-то невнятную готику.

Well, this is a pointless debate. The song is in different keys: for Tarja they play in C Minor, for Floor they play in B flat minor. So it is tottaly different. And not only, Tarjia makes a lyric performance and Floor a more pop/rock performance (to me much more emotional...) It is not about quality (both are great singers), but about styles...

Guys... Tarjas Version is the studio one, not a real live version (just a live vid overlayed with studio audio)! Keep that in mind when comparing this. To properly compare their voices, we would need a studio version or a live version of both Tarja and Floor, not mix one with the other!

Mme.Tenebrae in this time tarja was very drivven by perfection, the live version was almost like the studioversion, you can only hear sometimes the Accent :D

Katharina Weiler No, this one IS the studio version layered over the live video. It is exactly the same. Usually, Tarja varies during her concerts, and you can clearly hear when she's singing live, this is not live.

+I'mAries666 Floor's Version was NOT in higher pitch. Actually it was in lower pitch. The live version, which performed by Floor, was a whole step lower than the original in tone, ( the original version starts with Cm, while the live version starts with Bbm), that's why she was able to sing the last part perfectly while Tarja had to lower the note to complete the song. I think Floor did a really good job with this song, but Tarja's version is classic.
