Finally Emppu but not with his metal guitar this time, just with his metal detector. Even his hobbies have something to do with metal. This man is a metal legend.

What I like about antiques and treasures is knowing that many people before me touched that object. Like an old book. Many emotions touched that book. Back in my hometown in Brazil I used to go to used book stores and visit family and friends homes to see their antique furniture. I lost that hobby for many years, until I went to Finland in 2018. I regained that hobby and mostly important the interest in that hobby, searching for Finnish antiques and old books in Finnish. In all my trips to Finland since, I have the joy of visiting used bookstores, antiques stores, and flea markets. You can find interesting things even in small cities like Lappeenranta. Most of the time I don't even buy anything, but by just seeing and touching objects brings me a lot of joy. And that all happened because of Nightwish. I am eternally grateful for Nightwish for bringing Finland, my beloved Finland, back to me. The long lost treasure of my old soul.

That's indeed a different episode, with yet another facet to discover from some of the band members. However, I'd like to hear more about the album itself, the recording process, I don't know, these episodes are super short and abstract!
@user-fx4ww6tb3r2 ай бұрын
They covered their process quite extensively in the EFMB making off. If they've done everything the same way and filmed that you would complain about how you know that stuff already.

Tuomas, that should be made by archaeologyst. It's not a hobby
@SilverCreek242 ай бұрын
Archaeologists don't have the time or the funds to search random sites with metal detectors. They need to be sure that something big and important can be found there. If a hobbyist finds something that deserves to be looked into, then they will arrange a wider search. I don't think they want to waste their funds for a couple of old coins. :) I think it was great that the band put the important message in the beginning of the video.
@chimalmadanza85482 ай бұрын
@@SilverCreek24 You are Not archaeologist. Don't say stupid things. The presence of an old coin as you call It, may be a sign of the need of a wide research. Or can be trash. Tomas takes artifacts out of context. But i'm Not going to teach you.
@SilverCreek242 ай бұрын
@@chimalmadanza8548 Here in Finland the money is tight in archaeology. When they excavated the oldest church in the country it was partly funded by selling postcards and t-shirts, and the rest came from private donations. Nobody's gonna fund a search that's based on finding one single coin in the forest. It would be nice if they did, but unfortunately it's unrealistic. Throughout time people have been dropping coins when they move from one place to another. :)
@Fidel_L.Bousquet19702 ай бұрын
Mmmm... sorry, I don't want to be "that guy", but this kind of hobby can be really damaging to actually study and learning about the past. When archeologists find ancient objects they don't just "unbury" them. You need to study, analyze and very carefully manage every single object. You need to study the surroundings, why the objects are ther,e how, are there any other objects, how are they placed, who they belonged to... A metal detector and a schnapps bottle are not the best tools to actually learn about the past, this is borderline vandalism. Leave the archeology to the professionals who know what they are doing.
@benbermusics2 ай бұрын
Good remark but did you see the announcement at the beginning? It doesn't have to be so black/white. In many countries, there is a peaceful coexistence or even collaboration between scientists and hobbyists. An archeologist is always limited in time and means. He has to start from leads and needs purpose and funds. No room for much trial and error there. Provided that the metal detecting hobbyist doesn't excavate entire areas he can be a great asset. He can show his finds and have scientists take over in a structural, scientific way. The hobbyist being the sniffer. Both parties can be happy. Ever watched Digging for Britain? Great stuff!

When are we going to address how this album sounds horrible, if the single is anything to go by? When?!
@DeepeningTheListening2 ай бұрын
Why are you watching a making of an album you don't like? 😄
@SamBrockmann2 ай бұрын
@DeepeningTheListening , because, as a disappointed fan, I am allowed to express my opinion. I know, on the whole, the Nightwish fanbase thinks that Tuomas drops turds in the toilet and the turds are Nightwish masterpieces. But that's not what a turd is; no one likes turds. (That's why indoor plumbing jas existed for millenia.) And the single was a musical turd. I want to know if they're going to be doing proper mixing, so we don't get more turds like the single.

@sicksixsixsix27 , no. You're exactly the kind of jackass to which I was referring. You 🤡. No one owes Nightwish (or any other band) "respect". Bands earn our respect.
