Don't call cutting and resizing "cheating, One of the greatest benefits of digital drawing is being able to save time by resizing, without redrawing, I don't understand why that would count as cheating when you are making use of a tool/technique that's there for you.

Exactly. It's like attacking someone for having a car which allows them to get to places faster. I don't even bother responding to such bullshit.

I mostly draw digitally and LOVE being able to move things around and resize if they didn't turn out right, but I also draw traditionally and you don't get that luxury with traditional art so it can be good to not always rely on all the tools that digital programs offer you. It's super convenient and a time saver, yes, but if you get too used to being able to fix your mistakes in that way then you'll find yourself making those mistakes when you're drawing traditionally and will have a much harder time correcting them.

Wacom's pricing is totally insane, they're priced for companies & studios not to mention they have a patent for their battery-less pen tech. I've had wacom tech for ages and it's had problems like any other tablet. Color issues on my 12WX, my Graphire 3 literally shorted out, and every time I've contacted Wacom I got no answer at all. 1 Email to Huion asking a basic question and they get right back to me. Wacom has created this stigma that their tablets are the only ones worth getting. I really think this Huion Tablet is worth it. Nevermind the price, the stuff you get is quality stuff it's just not LUXURY stuff. You don't get the super thin screen, the fancy battery-less pen, but you get a stand that's 500x better than what Wacom has and hasn't been including, a solid 1080p display and a really good set of pens. The screen protector was pretty worthless though, glass isn't going to scratch with the plastic nib and when using the screen protector I got a rainbow effect as the pen wore the texture away making it hard to see the actual screen. If you get this tablet just make sure you clean the glass properly with a microfiber cloth & a bit of water on it to get off any residue.
@breadbotnik7 жыл бұрын
Snotnarok Luckily, lots of Wacoms patents are expiring or have expired, including the battery-less pen tech! I dont remember which manufacturer but I know at least one non Wacom company introduced a tablet with a battery-less pen this year. Think it was Monoprice.

I bought a Huion H610 Pro based on your review of it. It has literally changed EVERYTHING. The sensitivity, quality, and number of keys has dramatically increased my drawing experience. It has an insane 16 software keys that can also be customized, bringing the total buttons to 24! For $79 it has become one of the most efficient purchases I have ever made in my life! For reference, I came from a Wacom Intuos Pen Small. I will never by a low to mid tier Wacom tablet ever again, I am totally a Huion user now. Also, the drawing glove that they included has made a massive difference also! I like the one they gave me, but I ended up purchasing a DokiGlove because it has a better build quality and looks cooler. Just wanted to give my two cents to anyone looking for a tablet and finds the GT-191 to be out of their price range, and also for the reason of providing you feedback for your video reviews

I dont understand the whole dead with the so called "jitter". Its pretty much obvious the slower your hand moves the more it "trembles" , so i dont think if its a huge minus if you get it on a drawing monitor when I can see this problem with traditional inking as well. Also about the alternatives , the biggest issue i see its not how well they work (because they do the same thing as wacoms) but the longevity of the hardware and the driver support. Meaning that with wacom products you can have one of them for more than 4 years , and the alternative's livespan is about 2 years and less if you use them with care
@LisaMichelle984 жыл бұрын
Sorry I'm reacting to your 2 year old comment, but unfortunately jitter is a thing. I have both a cintiq13hd and a surface pro 6. On my cintiq I get a line that only 'jitters' because of me, but the surface produces a line that has some inexplicable weird stuff going on that I didn't do at all. The latter is actual jitter.

I use to draw when I was younger, the old analog way. Then I was fascinated at MS-Paint and CorelDRAW when they first came out. Shows how old I am. But I couldn't, or I should say drawing/painting with a mouse didn't feel right. Mouse drawing feels like pixel or sprite work when you have to get to that micro level where the art is Minecrafty (boxes everywhere). I use to do ANSI art for my best friend's BBS way back in the day of modem dial-ups. I have another friend who let me try his table pad. But drawing on the pad and looking up at a screen was another 'this doesn't feel right' moments. So finally seeing tech up to this level. It may be time to pick up a digital pen and give this a shot. I'm currently looking at this Huion GT190, a Ugee 1910B, and about to look at a review of a Bosto 13" tablet. But this drawing tablet is at the top of the list so far. Have you tried drawing at a flat angle? Do any cables get in the way? In school I use to have my paper on the desk, I'd lay my left arm across the top, lean my head on to that arm and start drawing. I'd have to build a special table or desk in order to get that feeling again. But I always got close to the paper, to get in and see the very tiny details I was drawing. So how is the screen close up or at angles. True I could just zoom in and what not, but I'm still curious. Thanks for making this review. Sketching is fun, but getting to the line work is my favorite stage...painting, not so much. PS, My art teacher liked my drawings and how I usually skipped sketching and went straight to line work with a pen. She taught me sketching and how it opened different venues to my art style.

Thanks for showing this review! It was helpful, considering that I actually currently have a Cintiq 22HD but it has to go to the repair shop at Wacom as there seems to be an issue with the LCD/LCD panel (so aggro since I've only had it for 6yrs!), but when I got told that if the whole LCD panel needs replacing it would cost me $1,100 AUD I was like ".....that's half of how much my Cintiq cost in the first place", so seeing these kind of reviews for alternative options puts my mind at ease that if I can afford to repair my current Cintiq (if it ends up needing the whole LCD panel replaced), that I can save up and buy one of these alternative brands. Honestly I had no idea parallaxing was a thing, until I thought about when I use my cintiq and realised it does have it, but I never noticed cause I thought it was normal? Either way, thanks for the review!

Hey! could you make a video on your history on drawing? (I want to get into drawing, just wanted to get some motivation from you and your beginings :p)
@virtuosyc7 жыл бұрын
This guy isn't toooo super good in drawing since you can clearly see that he lacks in fundamentals. If you want to seriously learn how to properly draw, you have to willing to sit your ass down and do sometimes really boring excercises and actually study how to draw. It's always best to start with the fundamentals: form, proportion, composition, anatomy, gesture, perspective, value and colour. To give you something to work with I suggest you either watch some videos on youtube and look up videos explaining the fundamentals (for instance "Proko" is a good channel about proportion and anatomy) or you type "drawabox"in google, this is also a very good way to learn as a beginner and get reinforcement. You don't have to get discouraged, every artist has to learn from the laws of nature at first and be able to reproduce and convey their imagination as a drawing, it works much like a language. Once you get the hang of it and stick to it and you don't have to strive for perfection when learning, be courageous enough to fail several times and recognize what you're doing wrong and soon you will understand that NihongoGamer honestly hasn't that much to teach to someone who wants to create art. I wish you good luck

I don't think "I'd had" is correct... maybe "if ONLY I had this SOONER", assuming you want to keep the click-baity-ness to the title.

It is correct.

Yes it is say I had had. Rather ironic of you to tell me to learn English. "Had had" is the past perfect form of have.
@Freddy-hz8cn7 жыл бұрын
"I'd had" is correct. It's like any other phrase using "I'd" such as "I'd done" or "I'd seen", but the verb is had.

Would the screen protector make it easier to get smoother curves? I'm guessing it's difficult to achieve on a glossy surface.

I remember the first time I used a Quantel Paintbox back in the late 80's, that was a brilliant piece of tech and how far things have moved on nowadays in size, performance and especially cost!!!

my research with Huion is a mixed bag. Reviewers say it's good for its price then I see comments where they say there are issues like bad screen, weird pen etc. But one thing I found consistent with them was their CS are quick to respond with issues.

Uuggh this review is soooo in-depth it makes me want to buy the tablet--I mean, I'm pretty happy with my current Wacom Intuos CTH-490 (although it's a bit hard to get a various line weight because of the pressure sensitivity), but damn this is so tempting and would absolutely speed up my comic inking process and saves a lot of time... gotta save up some money...! your review is always great, though, thank you!

Thank you for the review! About the jitter, I think it's because the hand naturally shakes a bit (with a lot of practice or talent it don't), it doesn't really matter which tablet you use. For perfect line art I would recommend to use adobe illustrator or a similar vector based program.

currently im using the wacom cintiq 13 hd and one of my main problems is the small size, i dont like drawing this way (its not bad or anything but it s nor my kinda style) one thing that buggs me rly hard is that the only 75% accurate colours , and now i see your huion tablet has the same amount of color accuracy and is the size i d have loved to have it... considering the equal amount of money u need to spend on both tablets i would never reccomend the wacom 13 hd, and also i think im gonna buy this huion thank you :)

OK, so I went to the Huion website, and saw some other tablet monitor options. Of all of them, which one is the way to go for $500? Or do you actually recommend the Kamvas GT-191?

Love your videos. WHAT DRAWING APP ARE YOU USING?? I just kickstarted my side project/hobby of webtooning life as a teacher! I've been sketching by hand, then scanning, then cleaning up with photoshop, then adding shades on it using an older hand-me-down wacom bamboo. I'd like to start dabbling in digital drawing, and suddenly I stumbled on you!

Hi! I have a few questions. I'm confused by connecting the computer to the tablet. Why do you have to do that? Is there a disc input on the tablet? Is there bottons on the tablet? Like the undo button and etc I really want to know before I get this tablet
@NihongoGamer5 жыл бұрын
it's a 'pen display tablet' which is a category of monitor that you can draw on. it doesn't have a computer built-in like an iPad 'tablet' :) If you need a tablet that has a computer built-in to run windows software you need a 'tablet PC' like the wacom mobilestudio pro or a surface pro. This huion tablet in the video just connects to your existing Mac/PC and shows whatever you'd normally see on your computer screen.

Great video, thanks! Is this still one of the better budget options? Is there anything newer that has surpassed this? They seem to get better every year. I use a 22" Cintiq at my workplaces usually, and need something from home but can't justify paying thousands.

Lucky you for those who lives in countries like US... or perhaps Japan or other countries where you can buy this Ugee or Huion (or other brands) close to their original prices... because in my country, I have to buy 600-ish USD Ugee 21 at the same price as Cintiq 13HD Touch... so that means it's over 800USD, or even perhaps close to 1,000USD mark...

Is this a tablet all on it's own, like can you upload your drawings / animations from the tablet itself, or do you need to connect it to another device? I do not own a PC of any kind so I've been leaning towards the mobile studio pro because it's a computer tablet hybrid but if this thing can upload animations and drawings from the tablet itself, at a cheaper price, I'm so ready to buy it. Heck, I just might still buy it even if it can't do that considering how cheap it is.
