Yes, such videos are also very useful. Let me just mention that none of your photo editing videos are too long. Time spent watching these videos is time to constructively learn about working with images and their final finish. Also ideas for taking better photos and getting cooler effects. Greetings from Poland from the city of "Fortress Przemyśl".

This collection is not over priced. Consider the time and skill such a project takes. We should reinforce the creativity that makes our creativity possible.

It’s so cheap now. When I first bought NikSoftware 15 odd years ago it cost about $700 😳

A very provocative video. I used to own the Google version of the NIK Collection. I have kept my eye on it but now at $150, it seems too "rich for my blood". However, I love the creative versatility of these plugins. My sense is that you can duplicate any preset if you know what you are doing. But the advantage of presets is they can quickly give you a new vision for your photo with a few clicks so you can more easier pick the look you want. I guess I'll look for discounts for this product before I buy.

I use it all the time. Nice to see how someone else works with it. Film frames have the disadvantage of giving away were they came from. Thanks for another great video.

Dave - that was great! Really do like you're just playing w/ all the options, really made me feel like I was just looking over your shoulder. Yeah, I could have given you directions of encouragement one way or another BUT I really liked the creative choices you made. And you gave me a hands up to enjoy the same journey on my own, thanks my friend........

Analog Efex is fun to play with to create unique photos, something beyond the run of the mill photo. And if you saw my Lensbaby collection you'd know I'm definitely a blur lover.

I love when you wander around the filters and presets to see how they look. I really liked the first motion preset you clicked on. I never really liked the toy camera look. I liked this image without the frame by the way. Thanks for sharing your expertise Dave. As for the price of the upgrade, I took advantage of the sale price and it was well worth it for the filters I use.

I’m keen to try it out. Have you tried changing the blend mode the layers panel in Photoshop ot change the amount of effect added to the image?

I personally am not a big fan of analog efex. I would like to see more of your videos using nik and TK8 together. (I do own both) Also your use of define, viveza, and silver efex. Thanks for the great lessons. I look forward to each one.

Nice video again! I dabbled in Nik before really learning Lightroom, Photoshop with TK8 (the best!) and Topaz Denoise, Sharpen & Gigapixel. Do you think experimenting with the new Nik Collection is a good next step, or perhaps some other platform? Just a hobbyist.

Love the creative videos! I have all the DxO products. In my opinion, they are cheap for what you get. BTW hate the frame you used.

nice presentation. I always pay updates for NIK collection since NIK suite exists but i don't use it anymore. LRC has become so powerful for raw develop with subject and sky masking and with tons of pro presets that if i decide to add artistic effects i select ON1 or NEO/LAI integrated environment. I am fan of upoint but masks and brush with edge dettecion are quite powerful now. creating lot of TIF between NIK modules is tedious. I ask them for years to make a single environment like color efex pro in which they would migrate viveza upoint as filter and Sylver as replacement of existing cep b&w. But they don't. analog efex is another plugin very specialized outside the workflow while we have Orton, frames,... inside ON1. I love sylver but profiles in lightroom have become so powerful with extra dimension using local retouching that they compete with sylver.

I love the Nik collection and use almost all the tools (sharpening not so much) but mostly ColorEfex, SilverEfex, Perspective Efex and HDR Efex. I play with Analog Efex but its just a bit too far out for my tastes. As for costs, it is currently a bargain, including PhotoLab 5 essentials and if you compare the cost of Nik with DxO Viewpoint(which is essentially the same as PerspectiveEfex alone) it becomes a no-brainer. I do wish they had updated the UI of all the tools at once though, this gradual upgrade approach just confuses the toolset usability. But Nik is so powerful and wide reaching you do need to spend a lot of time learning it. I've been using it regularly for 5 years now and still find new features pretty much every month.

Steve I tried it out with the new update on my iMac and the Actions work properly. The actions I made was for the NIK Collection 5. I am not sure what the problem may be. Are you on a Mac or PC?

I am running Mini Mac with M1 chip. The new version of nik is 5.1.0. when I run color efex from TK8 my actions and click on about, it says ver 5.05. This is where I am confused.

That is weird. Like I said, I just installed the new update and it does work on my 2019 iMac running the latest Mac OS and Action from the My Actions Panel.

except that with Photoshop 2022 on a Mac Studio Analog Efex causes PS to crash, whether in the recommended silicon mode or intel mode.
