And, writing 090523, I'm quite you have not been disppointed. What disappoints me is the narrow minded Bowerman committee. Here they have the greatest collegiate distance runner since Jenny Simpson (who was the first and ONLY woman distance runner to win The Bowerman) and you couldn't even select her to be a finalist. Just looking at her collegiate records: she holds the indoor 1500, mile and 3000 and the outdoor 5000. OK, so please tell us what any woman distance runner has to do to make Bowerman finalist. What? WHAT?

Congrats to to both Katelyn Tuohy, and Liam Anderson on their wins!!! I wanted to respond to Liam's comment about NXN having greater competition over Foot Locker. I'll agree, that is probably the case for this particular year, but certainly is not always the case. That being said, my real concern is why there are two different championship races in the same sport to begin with. It makes no sense to me. Both the runners and the fans get cheated out of witnessessing ALL of the BEST competitors at the same starting line. Ok...end of rant...haha!!
@3-piece1295 жыл бұрын
I think there's multiple reasons why: shoe companies (Nike/NB) want to have their share of the cut by sponsoring the races, a way for athletes to avoid each other, different course terrains for different runners to choose. Isn't Foot Locker a more exclusive race - less runners?
@hannahgilheany18994 жыл бұрын
yeah footlocker is regional teams not school teams and it’s only 40 runners (10 form each region)

One last comment to you Emma. I've watched a gazillion interviews with runners from all of the various running websites. Not trying to sound like an ass, but some of the individuals who are actually conducting the interview, ask some pretty stupid questions. Again, not trying to be a jerk. That being said, I have to say...you actually ask some very good questions. Additionally, you have a great way of interacting with these young athletes. Thus , you're able to pull more personality out of them VS. someone asking some generic questions in a robotic manner. A prime example of this would be when you were interviewing Katelyn Tuohy. I have witnessed multiple interviews with this young lady, and I have to say that she comes off as being somewhat bored...probably because she is. Who wouldn't be when you're asked the same questions over and over again. Here you were able to joke around and relate to here. In the end, she appeared to be more relaxed, was able to crack some jokes and show her true personality. And I have to say, she actually has a pretty good sense of humor. Back to you though....excellent job getting these young adults to provide some fantastic interviews! ****This could very well be a hidden(not so hidden...haha) talent of yours....wink wink! Think about it girl....you really are pretty good at it. No bullshit! I dont just throw out compliments that aren't true.

I would have loved for you to ask Katelyn her rationale for running NXN instead of the Footlocker Championship. Obviously she would be very competitive at the Footlocker, and I think she might find better competition for herself. I'm new to following cross country, so maybe she has already addressed this elsewhere, but I would like to know. Thanks for the video.
