Mat actually talked about what the line signifies: it's messy at the bottom, signifying his rougher start in the sport then "cleans up" as it makes it's way up as he got better. And the color is meant to signify the leader shorts as you mentioned.

Crazy thing BUT pull the insole out, sprinkle baby powder/gold bond, Insole back in, boom. Squeak gone. I read about this, was skeptical, tried it on my 3’s and it works.

Hey Joel, watched this video, went with your opinion on sizing and went half size up. Received it today and man you were right! These shoes are run shorter than my 4XD's even with the half size up. Glad i watched this first before i ordered! Thanks and keep up the great work!

I like the Metcon 5 better than the Reebok Nano 9, I think Nano 9 design regressed backwards, I have to say that Metcon 5 looks like a Basketball Shoe though, not that its a bad thing but I really prefer the look of 4

Hey, loved the video. Have you had much experience with the heel insert? I've always had some mild trouble with heel slippage and was wondering if that lift would contribute more to that. Also was the lift significant in mechanical advantages while squatting or is it gimmicky? Thank you!

Wayne Leng I prefer the FXM1s more but the Metcon 5 are still good. They’re more flexible and softer, but not quite as responsive.

Looking to try a pair of these. What’s your thoughts on basketball sneakers for CrossFit? A few guys at my gym are recommending them for more ankle support on lifts and tell me the stability/comfort is pretty good. Interested to know your thoughts

I tried Kobe ADs before, they share a lot of things in terms of features but the only thing that would keep me from really using them is the stack height. It's just generally much taller.

Hey Joel question for you. So I went and bought a pair of the 5s today and noticed that the dual density midsole has some big flaws. You can literally feel this difference which is one thing but the pair that I bought I also noticed due to that dual density that is was sticking my arch with that hard density part making it pretty uncomfortable. Have you heard of this or noticed it?

So I managed to get the Matcons. They arrive tomorrow. However I saw your post before I ordered them too late.. just got my normal size. I should have sized up 🤦‍♂️ the retailer I got them from had an exclusive sale by invite only but made it very clear no size changes would be allowed... Argh. I took a look a the sizing chart and it looks like at the bigger sizes the scaling changes a bit, I would go with your normal size.

Size varies, in Nano9s I'm an 8 and metcon 4 a 8.5. I'm guessing once my Metcon5s get in I'll be an 8.5, my guess is the reviewer doesn't have a flat feet.
