When I was a pre-teen/teen, a wise old aunt told me the secret of preserving long-term relationships/marriages: Never let sh!t fester into contempt. Getting mad/irritated/frustrated with the other person is natural, but when contempt sets in, you’ve lost respect, empathy, and other stuff that functions as glue in the relationship. Im really not feeling the repeat guest thing lately.. .A legend like Tarantino was an amazing return ...but every week now, we're getting repeats we really didnt ask for...nothing against Nikki but whats going on? Is he having trouble booking new guests?

So much for getting real guests living in LA and being a liberal.

Of course he’s having trouble getting new high profile guests. Real Time can draw them in pretty well but Club Random is much smaller and good guests don’t have an interest in the podcast yet.
@crucify403 ай бұрын
I think this episode counts as Bill's therapy session. Maybe most Club Random episodes do. It seems too soon for repeat guests when there are so many other interesting people he hasn't talked to. But this episode was all about them. Only thing that would have made it more interesting is if a Gaza protester stormed Club Random.

I'm 8 minutes in and this might be the most boring, vapid, self harm inducing conversation I have ever heard. You two need a near death experience or a person who actually cares about you or something.

He's not trying to be mad at you for no reason. Like you actually hurt him. He's hurt, validate that like whether or not he has reason to be hurt. In your mind he's hurt, and so try to understand what that would feel like. That was on point. A lot of relationships would fair better, if people just had empathy.

I think couples therapy are for codependent narcissists. Just think about all the time spent talking about themselves in a session and then going on a podcast talking about what you talked about in therapy.

Had Quentin Tarantino on not long ago. It was fascinating because he talked endlessly about movies. Nikki Glaser just talks endlessly about herself. I lost interest halfway through.
