These techniques were a game changer for me. I am so glad you made this video. Mature skin, sin damage and old scarring from acne makes for a less than perfect canvas. The application steps helped smoothen the appearance, cover imperfections and my primer and foundation lasted and did not look patchy or mask like at the end of the day! Thank you so much

Nice to see more videos of sponge use, tried and true. And patting on the powder, it works wonderfully, people don't need to spend that much money on unnecessary brushes

I have really oily skin, so oil to the face is a huge no no. I use St. Ives collagen cream, which is super soft, absorbs well and is hypoallergenic. Then I use a light scrub, so I don't irritate my skin. Then I use a base cream before putting on foundation, etc.

Also I use everything in cream and not powders like blus highlighter etc so my skin kind absorbes it and if I use anything powder it looks soooo bad /cakey even when the fancy Laura mercier products .

So many KZbinrs don't bother tying their hair back or using a hair band when they do their make-up. The brushes get caught in their hair, they're constantly tucking it behind their ears or flicking it out of the way. So they many look a bit of a div while they're applying their make-up (my BFF has hysterics when I wear my rams ears hairband) but there'd be more of an impact to the finished look ...ok, rant over 😄.

I just want to have more energy and not have to worry about fitting into clothes or having back pain. @@theresag.4188 I was able to successfully lose 120 lb about 10 years ago. It stayed off for 3 years and then I went through some traumatic experiences and gained it all back plus more. It's definitely possible but believe me when I tell you it's not about the food and it's not about lack of exercise. It's about what's going on internally within you. Your subconscious mind, your thoughts and how you feel about yourself and how you speak to yourself and what you believe to be the truth about yourself, your emotions and how you cope with your emotions. It's all of that tied into one. Weight loss is very complex. It's not as simple as just counting calories and exercising. But if you do the work, and if I do the work, we can make it happen. This time, I want to do it with Jesus and not on my own. Jesus is the one who can heal us permanently 🙏

I know this a very old comment but... Everyone has texture! Your skin is textured and has hair follicles, pores, lines, bumps, breakouts, oil glands and so on! You aren't ever going to cover it so it's absolutely smooth! The more you work your foundation into the skin, the nicer it looks! I use a brush to pat into my skin and a fluffier brush to buff it out!

use a lot of moisturiser on before, I found this helped a lot and apply this with a beauty blender and make sure when you've applied it your skin is shiny and feels like you've actually got moisturiser on instead of it all being rubbed in/off.

Due to ongoing issue with acne scars and large pores, I have been applying primer, then mixing primer with foundation and applying with hands. Honestly, it goes on super sleek and smooth. With blender i was looking like an orange peel 😖

@@bella-fh2pi thanks, I'll try this. I have the driest oily skin EVER. I've tried Neutrogena and all fancy products. I'ma try a normal moisturizer not for oily skin. My makeup looks dry and horrible and ages me by at least 10 years

Can you make a video about red lipstick on fair skin? I love a good red lip but I feel like it makes my face somehow look harsh...? Anyone? Just me?
@glowingxlights9652

If you have fair complexion with pink undertone, it's best to stick with lipsticks with blue undertones so for example, ABH American Doll, Mac Ruby woo. If you have fair-light complexion with warm undertone it's best to stick with orange-redish undertone shades like, Mac's Russian Doll, Mac's Chilli, and 22 by Kylie Cosmetic.

I had the same problem but like GlowingxLights said, you have to find the right one for your skin tone. Blake’s Red (Rimmel) works amazing for me. I have cool undertones.

Subscribed 😊 this is the first video of yours I've seen but I love how you addressed something that I rarely see addressed, and never have seen explained so well and simply! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've been needing a video like this for years and I had no idea! Question: have you ever tried a silicone makeup sponge? I'd love to hear what your take is on them. I have the kind if sponge you recommended and have been using that type for quite some time, but I just ordered a silicone one the other day to see what it's like. Reason being I'm a bit of a germaphobe and I hate having to constantly wash my sponges only to have them not get all the way clean and the texture gets rougher and I and up replacing them quite often. The silicone sponge appealed to me because first of all, it doesn't absorb your foundation so that you end up using alot less than with a normal sponge that it soaks into, plus they are super durable and easy to clean. I don't have any experience with them as of yet, this is just what I gave heard. If you have an opinion on them I'd love to hear it! Thanks again!

Well... the makeup people tell us we NEED a certain brush for their foundation, it'll never work without that brush. And we buy it. Because they're dying to sell us a $40 brush we don't need. And I fall for it too. Ugh. Definitely trying the beauty blender sponge for everything now.

Thank you girl! I've completely changed my skincare routine and the way I apply my makeup thanks to your tips and it's really working! I've ALWAYS struggled with textured, oily, acne prone skin and it's slowly getting better since I've made these changes. It's a long process, but finally I can see the light! Sooner or later I will invest on Dermalogica skincare as well, it is quite expensive, but since I trust you I'm sure it is woth the money! You are the best! Thank you!!

Wow!!!!! Just what I needed to know. I am struggling with rough textured skin as I’m over 50 and have not taken the best care of my skin the last 10 Years. I am using a three month retinol treatment now to get rid of the buildup of rough skin. I’m using Josie Maran Milk as my moisturizer and getting great results but after I apply makeup I can see every little flaw. Especially after I apply my setting powder. I have setting spray but had no idea how to use it. Thanks for sharing this information!

April Lane it depends on what you're putting on. With the moisturiser, leave it for about ten minutes after you apply it - let your skin absorb it while you have breakfast or do your hair maybe. When you apply primer after that, it shouldn't feel like there's anything in your face (esp since primers are so thin and not always for makeup, its good to just apply them anyway); the foundation would be the first 'layer'. I agree that contouring/blush/highlighting feel like a lot though, esp if you do it every day :-x for an everyday look foundation is usually enough. #mytwocents

Was that a new "ring" on your finger girlfriend? I hope that means good news. Do you think there is a foundation out there that's better for "older" gals like myself? Full coverage I do need. Also the beauty blender. Does it have to be the true beauty blender at $22.00 or will another do. Thank you, I'm a big fan. You put a smile on my face while I just had some back surgery :-)
