Your timeline is correct, it is just that the grand inquisitor is still alive. It makes no sense for Reva to chase Obi Wan and not the grand inquisitor, so they needed a way to take him out of the equation. We know the grand inquisitor surivies until rebels so it would be boring if he was the main one who chased Kenobi because everybody would know that he lives. With Reva chasing Obi Wan it opens up her potential death. So it makes it more interesting story wise, they just needed to take the inquisitor out of the equation somehow. He will be in a bacta tank for the duration of the show probably.

Fun fact: The girl that played the Spice dealer is actually Ewan McGregor's daughter, getting a cameo spot, so when he says's looking for his daughter, it's kinda funny irony. lol That cut at the end made me jump, the music too....I was afraid you guys were gonna talk through it and miss the impact of the quick cut scene! This whole time since Revenge of the Sith....it had never occurred to me that Obi-wan didn't know Anakin was actually saved and alive and now ruling as Darth Vader. I honestly just thought this whole time he knew that. The fact that he was just now discovering the fact that he indeed didn't kill his "brother" is such a heart dropping gut-punch moment for Obi-wan cause of all the guilt he carried as a burden for 10 years thinking that he failed him and that he did kill him! When Bail told Obi-wan "You couldn't save Anakin" we all thought that implied saving him from turning to the dark side, but to Obi-wan it was that he was convinced that that meant he couldn't save Anakin from dying. I mean granted he witnessed him being burnt alive, he probably just assumed he burnt..to death. And now after all these years Obi-wan thought he couldn't force link with Anakin because he just assumed he wasn't alive anymore, but at the end now he thought to call out to him...and Darth Vader now sensed that force link, exposing that Obi-wan is indeed alive, (to quote A New Hope), "sensing something, a presence he has not felt since"..... Such a great first episode!

When they first showed Vader, I believe that was his theme song they played. Most people think the Imperial March is Vader's theme because of its frequent use, but that is just the theme music for the military, it can include and be used for anyone in the Empire. Vader has his own theme that's not frequently used and a part of it kind of sounds like a funeral procession.

The Imperial March is clearly Vader theme throughout the entire saga. You can also hear it at key moments when Anakin is slowly becoming Vader. It's very obvious. The "theme" heard in this episode sequence with Vader in his tank doesn't sound at all like a John Williams original music. It is just some kind of Inception-like music, very trendy and mainstream. The scene is very cool, but using actual Star Wars music would be so much cooler. Even Mandalorian and Boba Fett had better music (as of until now at least)

​@@baronnuuke7821 Disagree, music fit well for a simple ominous end of episode 2 early reveal. Could they have used his iconic theme? Sure. Was it necessary? Nah. Not every moment needs an obvious nostalgia blast music reference to the original. They could save the theme for a better moment (perhaps when they finally meet again or if vader does something badass). This way they rip the band-aid off early so his presence in the show isn't overhyped. They could've easily built him up to be revealed in the finale but thankfully they didn't do that so hopefully we get more Vader screentime.

The grand inquisitor is an utapauan, they have two stomachs. Maul came back from being bisected, so really all the grand inquisitor needs is a bacta tank. there is Dark side force powers to reduce pain and prolong life for a while. Vader even does this in combat when his suit fails him.

Yeah, this "death" is just setting up a fight between the Grand Inquisitor and Reva. Its going to be interesting to see how that comes about. Because the Grand Inquisitor reports directly to Vader. And its unlikely that Reva was given Vader's permission to kill him. Reva probably assumes that if she delivers Obi-Wan (alive or dead) to Vader, that she will be forgiven. But I doubt that Vader is going to let her off the hook that easily.

If I remember correctly in Rogue One Bail Organa sent Leia to contact an "old friend" because he trusted Leia most above anyone else, meanwhile Bail left to Alderran to tell the people to get ready for war. In the hologram Leia made for Obi-Wan it seemed as though she didn't know him but that he, Obi-Wan, had fought with her father in a previous war. I have feeling in the end Obi-Wan is going to place a Jedi mind trick in Leia so she doesn't remember any Jedi. Also, maybe they'll shown Bail and Obi-Wan agreeing not to contact Obi-Wan again until time is right, which leads back to Rogue One and A New Hope. Just some thoughts...can't wait to see how it all comes together.

In empire part of what Yoda says to Luke "This one, a long time have i watched, all his life has he looked away to the future, to the horizon", suggests Yoda has also been keeping an eye on Luke either via Obi wan or through the force in general, so it makes sense he must reach out to Yoda soon. Also makes me think of that scene of young Luke in episode 1 of this series, pretending to be somewhere else.

They literally can't retcon Rebels without breaking the rest of the canon. They wouldn't be able to have Ahsoka going after Thrawn and Ezra in her series without it. Rebels also ties in heavily with Rogue One characters and plotlines and also probably connects with a lot of the upcoming Andor series.

The inquisitors can definitely sense Force powers being used. Vader sensed Luke using them during the first Death Star attack, even though he was using them mostly unconsciously at the time as they were improving his flying skills.

Obi Wan and Leah were so good together. I like the nod to Breaking Bad with the spice lab and Obi Wan pulling a Walter White. The moment that hit me though was at the end when Reva tells Kenobi Anakin’s fate and his reaction. I felt the horror and shock and grief right along with him. Like, can you imagine? If I were him I’d almost prefer for Anakin to be truly dead. When Leah asked if he was ok I was like sweetie you have no idea. And then that final shot!… Both chilling and pitiful. Also I kinda liked Haja. He was delightfully scummy, but a good ally in the end. I love me a good Star Wars scam artist/scoundrel.

6:30 I'm so glad Temuera Morrison gets to play live action clone troopers again. So awesome! Heartbreaking too because Obi-Wan was looking at a man he fought alongside with... an army of brothers. And then he got hunted by them and watched them kill the Jedi. But it was nice to see him help the man out despite the clones being used as the emperor's tools. Was watching this a few times now and all I can think wow, Ewan McGreggor took it up a notch as Obi-wan. Smits had more dialog in his one episode than he did in most of the prequel trilogy combined. And I had zero trouble buying into that girl as 10 year old Princess Leia. Then there were the easter eggs, such as Temura Morrison's cameo as the clone war veteran. That bounty hunter droid I remember seeing on ESB. I love that they're doing the slow burn with this series, because it's making the payoffs hit that much water. Can't wait to see the next episode.

They could have also been pulling everyone's leg about the Grand Inquisitor identity and he might not actually be the same one from Rebels. Possibly? Idk, I am torn two ways on this. They shot that bit in a way that just screams he is toast. At least from my studies of film, that is the impression that it appears they intended to deliver. My only other guess is the Grand Inquisitor will be MIA healing for several episodes to make way for Vader. But, in the context of the story, it would make way mor sense that Reva wnt for a kill, not just to injur because if/when he did recover, it would mean (probably) her exicution. It's a very very strange situation.

Yes! The Grand Inquisitor died in Rebels. But, that character was voiced by Jason Isaacs. Everyone is wondering why Jason Isaacs did not reprise his role in live action here. He may go through some sort of transformation to be revealed as Jason Isaacs later, perhaps in another Star Wars live action programming.

Grand Inquisitor is alive in Rebels, and Rebels takes place 5 years after Kenobi. We could find out next episode how he lived. Also, in the Vader comics, Vader never wanted anyone to find out he was Anakin Skywalker. If anyone found out, or got close to finding out, he would immediately kill them without hesitation. Reva now needs to run from Vader, and I don’t think she realizes the risk in doing something like that. She may have thought all the other inquisitors knew, but no. She’s the only one (that we know of). Not only does Obi-Wan have a target on his back, Reva now has a massive target in her back because she knows it’s Anakin.

The line from A New Hope is "I haven't GONE by that name since before you were born" which isn't a lie. He introduces himself as Ben, even if others call him Obi-Wan. Being called something doesn't mean you are going by it. Don't Dead Name people, yo! :P

I personally think the part where Kenobi is telling Leia about his friend who died could be referring to Duchess Satine Kryze of Mandalore and not Padme, if Leia was anything like her parents it would be more towards Anakin as he was the rebellious one who never listened and was very much out doing his own thing against the wishes of the Jedi Council. Luke on the other hand is more passive and passionate towards life much like his mother Padme, perhaps growing up on a farm fueled his curiosity to explore the stars as he had more freedoms to his surrounding environment unlike Leia on the other hand who was always keep under a watchful eye, surrounded by a class of people that spoke diplomacies pretty much every day.

You have to keep in mind that Kenobi hasn't likely used a Jedi ability in around 10 years. It doesn't matter how good you are at something, not doing it in 10 years makes you rusty as rusty gets.

Such a great series so far! The grand inquisitor is most likely alive. Obi wan knew Anakin was Vader but thought he died after he left him burning on the side of the hill on Mustafar. As for the whole name issue Alec Guinness’s line states that he hasn’t heard the name Obi wan in a long time which is true because in his solitude on Tatooine I’m sure he’s loses track of how long he’s been there. Plus after giving Luke to his family he would go by Ben just to help conceal his identity. Somebody said that the kids would be a threat to Vader or something but they have it wrong. According to the comics of the past few years Vader only knew about his son after A New Hope which also coincides with Empire Strikes Back. Wouldn’t find out about Leia until Return of the Jedi. Truth is the Skywalker children were a threat to the Emperor not Vader. “The Emperor knew as I knew, If Anakin were to have any offspring they would be a threat to him.” Meaning they could turn Anakin back to the light and help overthrow the Emperor. He was always so concerned about losing his power which is why he was secretly conducting experiments to clone himself just so he wouldn’t lose his power and continue to rule the galaxy.

As far as the grand inquisitor thing goes I don't buy him being dead because, as you said, he's still alive further down the timeline. Guessing the other inquisitors find him and he gets healed somehow whether that's with cybernetics or a force power. Overall loving the show!!

Leia doesn’t know his name is Obi Wan Kenobi. He is just “Jedi Ben” for her, and I think it will stay like that. So in EPIV she adresses him like she doesn’t know him (although for us it will have a different meaning from now). Also, this explains why she named her son Ben, after the man who saved her life. The bounty hunter droid in "Obi-Wan" looks like 4-LOM ("Empire Strikes Back") but the director of "Obi-Wan" has confirmed it isn't 4-LOM. She said its name is 1-JAC. In Star Wars we've seen people survive getting shot in the gut, cut in half, get burned after being dismembered, and fall into the belly of a beast (just to name a few) so it's safe to assume the Grand Inquisitor survived.
