@DarkElfPaladin2 жыл бұрын
I've been thinking about this recently. We have seen how obi wan is watching Luke most days, and we know Jedi can sense each other in the force. Luke doesn't have control of the force but he is very strong and I wouldn't be surprised if he could feel Obi Wan's presence even if he didn't know what it was. That means he felt that his whole life and then when obi wan dies suddenly he doesn't.

Thing about it is that she was able to sense Leia had a strong mind but wasn't able to penetrate it. but no red flags went up that a human who was only 10 years old is able to resist a mind probe. I loved this episode (as I did 1-3). When I watched E4 (earlier today) I was really quite anxious and on edge as to what would happen; something I've never felt for any other SW movie or series before (although I did cry repeatedly in Rogue One...). This is a series that depicts the Empire seriously as a grim oppresive entity (as it should be). Last episode we had Vader killing innocent civilians (notably snapping a little boy's neck😲). This episode we're presented the prospect of a 10 year old girl being tortured....😱
@johnw85782 жыл бұрын
Regarding Reva's mind reading ability -- I think she is hiding it from others. Notice that she only uses it when she is alone with a person. Perhaps she does not want the other inquisitors (or Vader) to know about it, OR she can only use it when she is alone with someone (it's weakness; maybe she HAS to be alone or others' thoughts flood it). I think she is hiding it because I think she picked up on Vader's thoughts (how she knows he is Anakin) and that is not healthy for her.

Great reaction! I don’t understand why fans are stressing over why Vader let Obi Wan go in EP 3. His intent is to make Obi Wan suffer. He said this in the episode. Obi Wan won’t suffer if you kill him immediately. Vader is sadistic like that now. He trying to impose further mental and physical suffering on Ben just like he has endured the past 10 years. He’s not pressed for time 😂 I’m also not concerned about Reva’s use of the force to mind read. If she did that with everyone, we’d have no story. This is fiction, not a biography. Every plot doesn’t have to make perfect sense 🤷🏾♂️
@TheWaziu2 жыл бұрын

I also say someone point out in another reaction how even though Vader is this big badass he is still a burn victim and that mental trauma does not leave you. The commentator pointed out that he was a third-degree burn victim and he had to stop the show to get calm down after watching Obi-Wan get burned because it brought back flashbacks for him. There is some controversy regarding whether Lei remembered Obi-Wan Knobi in "A New Hope." She says, "General Kenobi: Years ago, you served my father in the Clone Wars; now he begs you to help him in his struggle against the Empire." That somewhat sounds like she doesn't know him personally because she is referring to his service with her father as if to identify who she is or who her father is - which Knobi would know based on this show. Hilarious!) - Some scenes feel very fan-made whether it’s on the cinematography or budget - Slapping Stormtroopers…🤦♂️ - Obi doesn’t steal Stormtrooper armor LITERALLY ONE OF THE MOST STAR WARS THINGS TO DO - Shaky-cam, no one likes shaky cam - We waited all week for a 33 minute filler episode…WTF? - BONUS: Apparently a writer working on the show revealed he had no idea Kenobi knew Anakin became Vader and thought Kenobi knew Anakin survived the Mustafar battle before having to consult with Pablo Hidalgo (HUGE RED FLAG ON A PERSON WRITING THE MOST IMPORTANT STAR WARS SHOW EVER!)

No. Leia would not speak so casually to an older person due to royal protocol. That would not be fitting for a princess. She showed she knows who Obi-Wan is because she responded to Luke, something like, "Ben's here?". The fact that she called him Ben now ties this series into these two scenes in A New Hope.

I'm not a military strategist, but if you send out a message knowing it might get intercepted, wouldn't you use as vague and undetailed language as possible? Knowing that the recipient will understand the gist of it, even if you don't flesh out your entire relationship. Anyway, we might still get a scene where Ben tells Leia how to contact him if she needs him.
@Ian-Omega2 жыл бұрын
He already has the communicator that Bail contacted him on. Leia could have just called him on that instead of putting the message into R2 but the writer of this show doesn't know Star Wars. He admitted that he never even saw Revenge of The Sith.

I honestly thought that Obi Wan would somehow have a major event like being somehow reunited with Yoda to bring him back into balance with the force before taking on the Inquisitor base. It does feel a little like they are rushing through it a bit. Overall I'm loving the show though, and the moment with him and Leia holding hands, man ..... as a dad... that hit me dead in the feels.

Is it possible that Reva's true talent lies, not in mind reading, but as an Empath. Perhaps she's an extension of Vader's thoughts & feeling. When she saved herself from being choked to death by Vader by saying "I let them go." It's what Vader did in the last episode. It would explain the unexplained obsession with Obi Wan, and her matching ruthlessness. She dresses almost like him, too. She doesn't seem to have the ability to mind read (except maybe for weak, or non-force users), but her talents might be of feeling their thoughts. Like a human lie-detector. Ask the right questions, and she feels whether she's spot--on, or not. She couldn't receive anything from Leia, because even at a young age, Leia is strong with the force. And, Leia is also, somewhat of an empath herself.
@generalgrievous6962 жыл бұрын
That can't be it because she was able to pull direct information from the fake Jedi guys mind in the second episode of the series it's just an inconsistency. And for instance we know that this ability to pull information from minds works on individuals who are for sensitive because Darth Vader was able to extract information from Luke's mind in their final duel that he had a twin sister and later on kylo Ren used that ability as well. The problem we have with this is that The Inquisitor didn't stop to ask why why is a 10 year old human able to resist the talent that she was honed and using on others especially when humans are not shown to have that innate ability without training against force users and especially not among non force sensitive humans it should have put a red flag in her mind right away Leah needed to be tested to see if she was force sensitive and reported to Darth Vader
@angie-tq4ew2 жыл бұрын
@@generalgrievous696 True. But, again, I'm thinking she's just a vessel - an imperfect one, perhaps, but none of these characters are perfect in their abilities. Not even Vader. Again, she didn't ask the right questions, but it's because of the fault in the character, not necessarily of the writing.

I think Leia doesn't make her message to Ben in ANH personal, because she didn't want to risk if it fell into someone else's hands that they would have that info and use it against them both. Remember, Leia is really smart, AND grew up in both royalty and the rebellion. She's not going to send out a personal message in the hopes that R2 would even find Ben.

By the beginning of Episode III Obi-Wan was the greatest practitioner of Soresu in the history of the Jedi Order. Yoda and Mace Windu themselves said so. Soresu is grounded in defensive technique ie parrying blows and deflecting blaster bolts. So Obi at his worst is still better at blocking blaster fire than most others at their best.

I'm so glad to hear you say that you're going to reserve your complete opinion to the last episode, because it's a six episode series. If they wanted everything to happen at once they would have made a movie. Love you guys! PS it shocked me to hear Reeva mention Obi-Wan to Leia too, because I thought she only knew him as Ben. Knowing him only as Ben would have filled a little bit of a hole in the continuity between this series and New Hope.

When you mentioned the call back to Obi-Wan sneaking around the Death Star in A New Hope, I wanted to smack myself in the forehead! I always seem to associate Ewan with the Prequels when he is on stage. But you are so right. There were many call backs to A New Hope in this episode. And I also agree that the actress playing Leia is wonderful! I get so mad when I hear that there are some people complaining about her. It feels like there is always this small, but very vocal, segment of the Star Wars fandom that brings so much negativity with them due to the specific lens that they view Star Wars through. And anything that deviates from that lens is going to cause huge complaints. I just hope the creators see that the larger fandom is more positive about the stories as a whole. I haven’t read a tremendous amount of the Star Wars tie-in novels. There are just so many of them! But two that I did read were Bloodlines and Leia: Princess of Alderaan. Both novels are written by Claudia Gray, and I highly recommend them. Bloodlines explores Leia time as a Senator, after her son Ben has joined Luke for training. And Leia: Princess of Alderaan explores her late teen years, as she begins to realize her parents involvement with the Rebellion. For anyone interested in more character development for Leia, these books are a rich reward. And Claudia Gray is a great storyteller.

I havent yet watched this episode but i am replying on your intro points.. You have to remember that Hatred and Anger is a trait of the Sith, Look at the battle between Maul and Qui Gon when the wall seperates them... Maul fuels his hatred to be ready to attack pacing like a lion back and fourth ,where despite being revved up Qui Gon Sits and attempts to calm himself... and thats the difference.. Vader made his fortress on Mustafa because what place living there would daily remember you of you fate, Anakin as a person died there,burnt in this place,left to die by his mentor...which is why he has that hatred... and Palpatine brought him back hence his loyalty to the Emporer.
@patsysoto16862 жыл бұрын
If you remember, even Darth Vader had no knowledge of Leia's force abilities, and he was the one who tortured her on the Death Star... Leia's force abilities were very subtle... which made her a very good senator, and as a child we see how she would use those abilities in the future...
