The "All new metal" list is basically all new songs that got out during the week from all styles that could be tied to a metal subgenre. I don't think it's really filtered.
@sylvaintremblay3311
@sylvaintremblay3311 Жыл бұрын
Spiritbox and Silent Planet were there in the prior weeks but songs can't stay more than one week. I don't think there's any order either other than groups with more monthly listeners tend to be higher on the list.

Exactly. We all know Spotify makes rubbish's playlists but this isn't meant to be a best songs playlist just a weekly update of what's come out. A misunderstanding here honestly.
@JohnAndJohner
@JohnAndJohner Жыл бұрын
@@RATEDRRYAN1 I mean it is literally called "All" New Metal, not "Good" New Metal. And metal is an incredibly loose term these days. Just look at Sleep Token. They do whatever the hell they want and are still considered metal. It's not strictly fair to judge all these other bands just because they aren't as good or famous as Sleep Token.

1. There is a lot of AI involved, so many of these types of “new” playlists of all genres are just grabbed by AI from artists that are labeled as such by the artists themselves and what type of people listen to it 2. I've always hated Spotify. Chiefly, I hate how you can spend hours curating an epic playlist and then they randomly remove tracks leaving weird phantom holes all over. Also I hate how little they pay the artists who are their bread and butter. I know it's kinda caveman but I mostly still buy either MP3's or even physical CD's (some Japanese music is hard to buy digitally) so I always have the music I want on hand even if I magically find myself somewhere with no signal.

My All New Metal list today (so one day later) on Spotify is nearly completely different, with Sylosis, Cryptopsy, StaticX, Motionless in White, Dying Fetus, Conquer Divide, so pretty good (yes imho at least) for Spotify, then goes downhill, Prong's the Descent is solidly thrashy, then THERE IS OR VERY OWN NIK with Alex Terrible on Obscurity, then downhill again with mostly prog rock, emo stuff and a few solid ones sprinkled in betwen. No Polaris tho. All in all though it's a little better I think. Are those genre-based playlist that are not 'curated for you' algorythmically still randomised between users? Cause I have almost entirely different playlist.

Based on this clips here I can't say that I like most of the songs represented but I think it's a little unfair to say that some of the songs don't make sense being there. Yes, imminence and Spiritbox are missing and there are a bunch of songs on here that don't sound like actually metal but it makes sense that bands like Kvelertak and Taake are here because they both released new albums recently (that both slap btw). Also having bands like that on the playlist actually makes it more diverse than just having core music, though I do still love me some core.

I’m forced to have Apple Music and their Breaking Metal playlist has a few of the better ones from here. They love to load up the ‘core songs on theirs, alongside a lot of power metal haha. Heard the Revnoir song on it and it’s excellent

Taake is actually a sick black metal band, but yeah the production sounds very 90s second wave black metal.

DUDE c'mon, aren't you a bit... I don't know, just very "one metal sound minded?" Aaaaanyways, Soen = ❤️. Also you need a quick Norwegian class 😂😂 Taake and Kvelertak aren't everybody's cup of tea though. But it makes me mighty happy to hear Imminence mentioned 😍 Polaris has crossed my lists for some time now. I actually have a playlist that's from the first week of discover weekly, and release radar is kinda picking up on my taste quirks too. It's not all bad you know 😅

The generic playlists for every genre of music is always crap. That's why you make your own playlist. And when you get bored of that, you scroll down past the playlist and take a look at what the algorithm suggests for you and add what you like. Rinse and repeat until you've gpt a playlist hundreds of songs long.

I doubt you see this Nic, but Parti! is a band formed by the Lead Guitarist of SycAmour, one of my favorite 2010 bands.
