The man is a two-time MVP and was en route to a third consecutive without a finals appearance before he lost it down the stretch. I don't get this idea that he's underrated or overlooked. Jokic stans act like he deserves a parade every time he shows he's a superstar level player, he's good and everyone acknowledges it.

It’s because the way the game went, the lakers for 36 minutes had absolutely 0 answer for jokic, we’re down 20+, then almost completely shut down jokic and came back and almost won. The nuggets escaped an almost historically bad collapse which is why the lakers are getting so much credit

Some facts about Jokic the playoff performer. He's the #1 leading playoff ppg scorer among centers in league history. More playoff ppg than Wilt. More than Kareem. Think about that. He's top ten in playoff ppg all time among all players regardless of position. He's top 20 in playoff assists and rebounds per game. He's top 30 in playoff shooting percentage. Essentially he's one of the greatest playoff performers in league history. So no one should be surprised what he's doing in this years' playoffs. That there are still doubters now is unbelievable.

Actually agree with Mad Dog here, G1 was Lakers best chance to win on the road. I don’t think LA can beat Denver 3 games in a row which means best case scenario it’s a 2-2 tie heading back to Denver for G5….. chances are the Lakers will get worn down by then. The silver lining here is the comeback in G1… the pick and roll with LbJ put Denver in foul trouble and slowed the game down, that’s LA’s recipe to keep themselves fresh throughout the series.

The Lakers played really well in the 2nd half, but the Nuggets nearly giving up the lead and still winning showed me a lot. It’s just Game 1 so I don’t expect to see such an offensive display as adjustments are made. I got Denver, but it’s going to be real close because the stars came to play which is great for all of us.

This is the first time I’ve ever really agreed with Mad Dog and his old man takes. First of all the Lakers shot 45% from 3 that’s not happening again. Second Jokic only took 2 shots in the 4th because he was trying to get a rhythm going for his guys cuz Aaron Gordon couldn’t throw it in the ocean despite him being wide open. Third AD dropped 40 pts and 10 boards. Hasn’t history shown that AD is capable of that but he is also capable of 9 pts and 7 boards. So instead of this narrative that the Nuggets won’t play like that again the narrative should be that the Lakers won’t play that great either. Reeves will not hit those shots. Hachimura will probably foul out trying to guard Jokic and the Nuggets have the best home record. Lakers aren’t winning in Denver. They better hope that AD’s bad game is in game 2 cuz if it’s in Game 3 down 2-0 Lakers are screwed.

Poeple under rate Jokic because he's not flashy, period. He's reserved, he's calculated, he's workman-like. The total opposite of what people consider to be a star. If he was a high flying, 360 dunking, tongue wagging guy from the 'hood with half his stats, Steven A and most other people would call him the second coming of Jordan. But a plain, serious white guy from Serbia with no tattoos and no dunks, who averages a triple double and leads his team to victories? Nah, no so much.
