I just found you Ms. Nikol and I am so so thrilled. You have been the first woman to realize the need and desire for women of all ages, who want to look their best yet have no idea how to go about it. I’m a breast cancer survivor. I had MANY careers so now it was time for me to do exactly what you are doing, only with women who are currently in the hospital undergoing treatment. I had everything planned out, when my oncologist said “ I don’t think you have been out of this insidious illness long enough to help others as you are healing yourself.” My doctor must have had a premonition, because my ADORED, BELOVED HUSBAND suddenly passed away from Covid, and I am trying so hard to heal myself as well as my 3 young adult children. This horrific nightmare happened without any warning. My husband and I had dinner, he felt like he was getting sick and 4 hours later I heard someone call me a widow. I really didn’t want to go into so much information, however YOU have brought me so much happiness and joy I wanted you to know how grateful I am. You have given me hope, and a purpose to get up and make up and greet the day. Thank you from my heart. Please never stop sending your positivity to women,because look what it has done for me. From my heart, Thank you sweet Nikol.

Here's something to try for lower lashes. Take a tissue or a square of bathroom tissue. Place it under your lower lashes and hold it there. Apply mascara just like you usually do to top lashes. Just brush away. The wand will hit that tissue paper and product will not get on your skin. If you want to separate your lashes, use an old toothbrush. The spread-out bristles will act as a comb to remove excess mascara, and separate your lashes. So easy and fast. Also works on eyebrows to soften harsh pencil lines.
@deniseatthelake2 жыл бұрын
Great idea, BUT how do you keep the mascara from smearing on the skin under the lower lash line? I use waterproof mascara but the oils from the makeup and eye cream , which I need, make the mascara bleed onto my skin. I've tried brushing powder under my lower lash line but it doesn't seem to do much.
@granjmy2 жыл бұрын
@@deniseatthelake I wish I could tell you. I use waterproof mascara too. Maybe carry wood toothpicks with a tiny bi of cotton wrapped around the length. The narrow width of the toothpick would allow you to get the cotton-wrapped side of it right up next to your lash line. NOT the pointed end. Just the side. The cotton would wipe away the smears and absorb the oils. Or maybe try those oil-blotting tissues before the mascara starts running?

That's a great thing - but not me! My makeup routine is a snap! We don't have to do the same thing to get the look we want, it doesn't have to be time consuming but the older we get, yes, it is going to take a little extra time for hair and makeup but I am totally worth it. I ran out of foundation and the guy who cuts my hair for the past 20 years plus covid, I was out of a haircut, etc. Of course, it crossed/crosses my mind. Now, my guy is back, I have my basic foundation and uh, no. I am very glad that whenever I go out the time was spent to look the best I feel. Being single at age 65, I remember neighbors telling me to "wear your foundation in the summer" when I was like 12 - and I haven't forgotten. My mom always kept a lipstick by the front door mirror and would tell my sisters to put on lipstick before they went out. My mom ALways put on lipstick and a flick of mascara when she went out. The white hair can stay, the slop water grey gets box color. I am completely worth it! I feel better, I look better, I enjoy the compliments and I bet you will, too. Please, don't get me wrong! I'm not knocking you or your decision. It's just where I'm at. And thank you for your comment, it helped ME 🥰

And not to mention the years make up takes off me I am always feeling i could blend in with others OR I can stand out with bigger eyes and some attractive pouty lips... When I did make up in a salon years ago, I had my own little mascara trick. When applying the mascara after curling your lashes, make sure the tip of the mascara wand isn't all glooped up. Take the tip and vertically brush along the tips of your upper lashes to get them coated. It's an easy way to pick out the longest lashes, pay special attention to the outside lashes. After that go back and start at the base of your lashes on apply your mascara as usual. The reason for doing this is that you can never get the tips as long when you skip this step and just apply from the base to the ends. If you like some more pop, you can put a layer on the tops of your lashes before doing your mascara as usual.

My hands to shake, due to TBI (traumatic brain injury.) and tried Selena Gomez’s mascara hack and ultimately, I tweaked the application method, so that it would work for me and I was quite happy, that even I was able to do this! Because mascara and I have a love-hate relationship, and I am obsessed with makeup, and this technique is like a *chef’s kiss* for me. First, I made sure my hands were cleaned. Instead of closing the tweezers, I coated both sides of each leg and I rested the heal of my palm against my jaw, for leverage and with light pressure, I ended up with 100% coverage on my bottom lashes, in one pass… it was the easiest and fastest application, that I have ever accomplished. Seriously. Because of my tremor, I use very little mascara along my upper lashes. Or, I ask my sister to help me. Thank you, so much, Nikol! For sharing this hack, it is very appreciated! ~ Cassandra

I'm a makeup artist & specialize in makeup for the older woman. I've always thought mascara on bottom lashes drew down the face (all those little arrows pointing down) and looked phony. Spider eyes I called them. But this subtle amount just on the outer third of the lower lashes looked nice, I must admit.
@r.p.89062 жыл бұрын
I agree. Anything going down pulls the face down and emphasizes gravity. I would not do this on a 50 yo woman. It looks great on a young woman. The idea is to lift up. Eyebrows also need to go up. Crease needs to be up. Everything needs to go up after 50.

R.P., totally agree with you. Up is the only way to go. I’m 60, and can honestly get away with saying I’m 45. Even the smallest amount of mascara on lower lashes isn’t good for ME. I also do my bottom waterline with a light pink pencil, and it opens my eyes up and makes my face look younger. I’m fighting it every step of the way. ☮️♥️💐

Although my hair is still mostly dark, my lashes are fine and short and largely disappear. I most definitely use mascara on the lower lashes-- when I use much makeup at all, which is generally only for dance events and performances. It doesn't "draw down the face" when applied judiciously, and it doesn't look phony when it's just enough to make the lashes visible. Perhaps you are thinking of the way women look when they really cake the mascara on?

I just discovered her a few weeks ago & so far have ord frownies, (husb even ord some for his forehead) & ord eye shadow primer. Who knew there was such a thing. 🤷🏻♀️ Also love her tips on adding mascara to lower lashes. Lastly, her hair is the best I have seen on U-tube & I appreciate her secret to obtaining volume using Velcro rollers. Look forward to watching more. ❤

Really prefer the French skin care products! The French women are much more into skin care, and not so much into makeup. I’ve been using French skin care for long time, my skin is so much better, and haven’t always done as much makeup as I did when I was younger. However, I do love your eye makeups and cheek colors a lot💓

Soooo, I tried the lower lash hack. I wasn't too interested in trying it bc I thought it sounded weird, and harder than just using a light hand with the mascara I use on my lower lashes (which has a teeny tiny brush). Silly me. Easy peasy and WOW! My lashes are light blond and if I'm putting mascara on the bottom I feel like I need to do some kind of lining as well, I've just never been able to do the light piecy thing because the blond lashes left uncovered just look odd. This works like a dream! Might sound weird but you can intentionally clump some together and then individually coat just a few! This is a long explanation but for all the redheads and light eyelashed gals, ifykyk, try this! You'll be amazed! I know Selena has dark eyelashes, as do you Nikol - but I think she discovered, and you shared, a lower lash hack that could save the world!! Ok not really, but wouldn't that be nice 😀

I miss the simple days back in the 80's and 90;s when make up was simple and not so complicated...with so many items we now "so called need". Greetings Nikol! First time watcher here. I LOVED this video. Love the Anthelios face sunscreen, especially the invisible finish one (worth every penny!). I also love you for reinforcing how important brushes are for doing your makeup. I freely admit that for years I didn't get brushes - just thought they were a cash grab, after all, your products usually give you neat little brushes. Problem is, they just DON'T work. Period. So I've finally thrown mine out and invested in great brushes. Keep up the great work - you're a beautiful woman with great presence in your videos. Cheers from Canada!

Before I get into the main reasons im commenting today, I wanted to thank Nikol for spreading her beauty knowledge, the detailed explanations and examples she provided and to commend her on her confidence for sinply having the guts to film herself and post it. it's way harder than it looks, so im high fiving her for that alone. What im about to say next goes out to all of the women who felt it necessary to be passive-aggressive, hide-behind- your-keyboard bitch commentators. First, no one cares that you don't wear make-up; this tutorial is for those of us WHO DO enjoy applying make-up, whether we need it or not. Personally, I can't stand crocheting, so why the hell would i ever watch a video on it, then proceed to comment about how much I dislike knitting? It's a waste of my time and frankly, NO ONE GIVES A F$&K! Second of all, to negatively comment on Nikol's skin was another mean-girl move that bothered me to all hell. THIS ISN'T A SKINCARE TUTORIAL, so who cares what her skin looks like? THAT'S NOT WHAT WE ARE HERE FOR!!! Besides, what good is that gonna do, to be rude as shit for no good reason? i bet all of you made these comments because, no matter how much or how well you apply your make-up, you end up looking like crap regardless. Keep your nastiness to yourself! Last time i checked, purposely being hurtful and the au natural look didnt go together

It's so true though, I cannot understand why or what drives a perito comment on something they aren't even to? Why even watch something you're not interested in? Could it be that they like are trying to rage bait? They get their kicks off of upsetting people? 🤷🥴
@kimberlymarie3651 Жыл бұрын
I understand what you were saying and agreed with you until you lowered yourself to their level and attacked them by saying they're probably all ugly and no amount of makeup could make them pretty; which made your comment just as bad as theirs.
@jenniferking7548 Жыл бұрын
Girl look at you, telling people they look like "crap" you go.... putting people down is the best🙄
@heathermjordan-durant8684 Жыл бұрын
Would you have called someone ugly if they hadn't said it first? Intentions matter. There is a different intent when someone is defending someone innocent. Then just coming out and saying unkind things for absolutely no reason other than to be mean. While it's never right. If we are going to judge someone, I feel we should look at the reasons why. The intent. No one is perfect. Including Nikol. This channel is about celebrating the good. While keeping negativity as little as possible considering that imperfect people cannot perfectly do anything 100% of the time. So what causes someone who doesn't do make up to watch this type of video? Is it to purposely try to hurt others? I did see MVP. So are there a group of people who work at giving the lowest blows while trying to make others look they are wrong somehow? And the person who succeeded would be a most valuable player? 🥴🤷🤔😒 Who knows

I think Nikol's videos are well thought out and nicely delivered. I noticed her skin is not perfect, neither is mine! So? She is still a beautiful lady. She is informative and her presentations are quite enjoyable to watch. I see nothing to criticize. Glad she shares her knowledge and experience!

As far as my lower lashes, I use Maybelline Lash Discovery...tiny wand...great for lower lashes.
