D759-user here. Sort of D610+. Love the smaller body, compared to the big D800(E)/D810. Still a vaulable tool, both the D610 and D750 in 2024.

Z8, ZF, Z5, D750, D700, D610 (plus D7000, D71000) owner here... My D610 is my go to outdoor portrait camera, I think it has the most organically natural skin tone Rendering of all the cameras I own, it's warm and pleasing, best of all I got it for just $220 for just under 70k clicks

I’ll chime in that I recently took a workshop with a World Press Photo award winner (4x), a raft of other awards as well. This photographer is still using a D610. It’s the most beat up camera I think I’ve ever seen. If it’s still good enough for him… it ought to still be good enough for anyone.

Yes it's pretty good - This mere mortal here was using it for street photography this past weekend. It's RAW files are very flexible. 🙂

I used to have this camera. I switched from a D700 because I wanted a higher resolution for prints. I loved the camera a lot! Am I the only one who thinks that D600 was the start of a cheaper line of full frame cameras from Nikon and when the oil issue appeared they wanted to distance themselves from it so they made the planned (I’m imagining) D650 into a D750 instead? Like to me it seems obvious that the D750 was not originally to be a D750 because it’s a camera in the same class as D600 and D7000, not D700 or D800 or D500. Maybe I’ve spent too much thinking about this ancient history haha.

You are not entirely wrong. The D750 is a direct upgrade to the D610 while the D800 setues us a different camera. In addition to my D610 I also have a D7100. Aside from sensor size they are nearly identical, with same control arrangement. Same for the D750.

@@jimrinaldi8357 Glad Im not the only one who sees it. Nikon messed up their naming convention because of the oil issue, is my theory.

Yes I reckon the D600 was Nikon's first shot a full frame for the consumer market, but having said that I think it was about £2000 when it was release - so not cheap by any means. I think that was 2012 whereas the12MP 700 was £3000 when that came out in 2008.
