A quick update ... as mentioned in my video, I like all of these cameras with a special interest in the Sony a6000. I mentioned my needs for a camera that can shoot great photos as well as video. Canon fits the bill but Sony introduces some very interesting features. I will post another video soon with additional thoughts on the a6000.

Thanks for the post Alann ... caught you on a couple of other video comments:). I typically stay on-top of comments time permitting. Nonetheless, the D7000 is a solid camera and one that I still own today. It is a camera that I could take into extreme weather and not think twice.

VERY informative video!!! Loved it! I'm getting a Nikon d7000 today off of market place and the video made me feel better about it. I know its an older camara but I'm not rich! Lol. I have a cannon t5 and a cannon sl2 . the sl2 isn't weather resistant and it also feels like a toy with all the plastic. It also is too light and small. I bought a battery grip to have something to hold on to.. I dont mind the weight and really prefer It. It has WiFi and an articulated screen but I can do without that and it also only has 9 focus points of which only one is cross type. Im leaning towards the wildlife so I think the d7000 will be better! What do you think??

Thanks for the post/feedback and glad to be of help!:) I suspect you have the D7000 but now considering I am a couple of weeks late to your post:). It's a great beast of a camera. I have used the D7000 for many years and continue to do so today. It is hefty which I do not mind and prefer in some situations (extra weight helps to steady the camera).

@@RealWorld yes sir!!! Thank you for responding !!!! Ive noticed that when I take a photo and it comes up on live view it always looks yellow!?!?!? Makes me mad, my sl2 doesn't do that and ive checked the white balance and all other settings. Its not real yellow but noticable. Maybe its just a characteristic of the camara... Other than that I love it. I want to get a cannon 80d or 90d do you have any thoughts on those? Im gonna keep the d7000 because it really is something special.. Its really good after 10 years!

Interesting issue regarding the yellow tint - perhaps an issue with the display and the not the image. Nonetheless, regarding the 80D - I like it:). I reviewed the camera a while back ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/aX_Hg6mnYpibnac ) ... a solid camera and one I would use for video (does a good job on photos but great on video).

@@RealWorld To be fair I don't think the D7000 is _that_ hefty. I have small enough hands and it fits them just fine. In fact I did try out a D700 and found that a bit uncomfortable due to its size and weight. When I looked at your video I thought that the D5500 must be tiny if the D7000 looks so big next to it! 😃I would agree that the D7000 is good and solid though.

This is a good/tough question:). Of the cameras you mention only one is has a full sensor - the D750. I have shot with many cameras over the years using both crop and full sensors. Crops are fully capable of taking good/solid shots but full sensors an advantage in low light, depth of field, and overall recover/manipulation of image in post processing. I might lean towards the D750 ( amzn.to/2V2YKwy ), the Sony A7 III ( amzn.to/2Vg7rJ0 ), or the Nikon D850 ( amzn.to/2Ljdx6B ):). Of the three given, I might lean towards the D750 if money is relatively tight, lean towards the D850 if you plan to take landscape shots and produce HUGE prints and have some extra money, or towards the A7 III if you want a mirrorless camera with awesome focus/technology:). After you decide on the body, consider a good lens:).

I have used both and some might say to go with the a6000 because it is smaller. Both are very good in my opinion and I feel the D5600 is not much bigger nor heavier. Might come down to price and future use. The a6000 will overheat when shooting relatively long video clips (longer than 10 mins or so). +michael dangora -- Yes, you have made a great choice!:) I have been shooting for many years and have touched many cameras along the way. The A6000 has a different look and feel to the traditional DSLR users (myself included:)). The more I use the A6000, the more I like it. I have created a few different videos on the A6000 and will post more as time goes on (subscribe to get alerts, etc.).   My first advice ... take your time and read the manual (and ask questions on forums like this). The camera is more than capable of most needs and will treat you well. I have been using it to shoot great picts and video (picts/video of family, tutorials, etc.). If you can understand the relationship between shutter speed, aperture, and ISO, your creativity will flow:). This is not mandatory as you can simply place the A6000 in fully auto or intelligent auto and shoot away, but the camera is capable of much more:). I plan to create a video in the next few days regarding intelligent auto on the a6000 for those who want to know more about it. Hope this helps!:)

Hello and thanks for the comment/question:). If you are not interesting in video, I would go with the Nikon D7000 or D7100. I have been shooting with the D7000 for a handful of years and the camera is a beast. In addition, I suspect you can get one used for a good price. I typically run with the D7000 and the Nikon 18-200 lens which is a great versatile range IMO.

This is a good question as they are both very comparable, however I like the heavier weight of the D7100 along with the weather seal which is lacking in the D5500. In addition, the D7100 has more AF points. Nonetheless, if I found a good deal on one vs the other, I would give my vote to the cheaper of the two. The D5500 is a bit cheaper comparing the cost of body to body and retail to retail. If you found a used D7100 cheaper, go for it:). I do not think you will go wrong with either choice.

I know this is an older video, but I'm looking to upgrade my DSLR later this year around Christmas. At first I was looking at the D5600, mainly because you can get the body and the 70-300 lens(along with an 18-55) for under $600, but after watching quite a few videos, I'm now looking at the D7200 which I can get just the body for a little more. Just curious what your personal recommendation would be? Would be used for mostly astrophotography, landscapes, weather, and just general stuff when I go hiking(rivers/waterfalls). I'm planning on getting the Tokina 11-16mm and the Tamron 18-400mm at some point, and I believe they would both be compatible. I believe the 7000 series are weather proofed, which is a feature I'd like, but I'm looking more at performance vs. money since budget is a bit tight as I'm focusing on trying to upgrade my lenses. Edit: Watching your D5600 review now...lol, you have a video for everything, love your channel.

Thanks for the post and glad to be of help!:) Unless you want a rotating touch screen, I might lean towards the 7200 ( amzn.to/2LVTU52 ):). I shot with both the 5000 series and 7000 series over the years and both will take similar resulting images, however the 7000 series has a solid feel. If you pickup the 5600 and then pickup the 7200, I suspect you may feel the same. The D5600 is a great depending on your needs though, but if you want something to withstand the elements, consider the D7200:). The D7200 has a weather seal which makes it water resistant (not waterproof:)). Nonetheless, I have not problems using the 7000 series in the rain, snow, etc.

@@RealWorld Thanks for the reply! After further research I'm definitely looking into the 7000 series, especially after discovering keh.com. I just picked up a sigma 17-70 f 2.8 and the Nikon prime 35(after watching your video) and can't wait to start using them. I'm now considering a D7100 since it has some upgrades over the D7000 and sits at a bit more reasonable price vs. The 7200.

While Sony did a good job with adding additional features (mainly a bunch of AF points which are good for tracking moving subjects), they have an overheating problem. Thanks for the post/question!:) Ahhhhh yes ... I still have my trusty D7000:). Nonetheless, I would lean towards the a6000. The a6000 may not be built the same, but the D7000 has a max ISO of 6000 vs 25600 (you may never needed 25600 but I could see going past 6000:)). There are other benefits like number of auto focus points and faster continuous shots. The biggest downside to the a6000 is battery life (rated at 360 shots which is too bad) and overheating (the camera may overheat when shooting continuous video more than 10 mins or so). You might also consider the D3400 ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/mYC1eoGFlrGGis0 ). The D3400 does not have the same build quality as the D7000 but has a nice solid set of features to get you started in my opinion.

A thing to keep in mind: Photos taken a few years ago will not lose their appeal to you because they are a few years old. Simlilarily, a camera which is a few years old won't suddenly produce pictures that are not pleasant to look at. As he said in the video, you won't know the difference if you're not a professional. Your skill in handling the camera and picking out the scenery makes the photo. Whether you use a camera that is 5 years old or whether you use the most expensive one you can find today.

Is it worth upgrading from nikon d3200 to 5500? Is 5500 really good in low light?
@RealWorld
@RealWorld 7 жыл бұрын
The D5500 has a few notable upgrade worthy considerations ... 1) articulating screen (which can be very helpful at times) 2) higher ISO (25600 vs 6400 in the D3200; higher ISOs enables the camera to capture an image in low light). I like the option to hit 12800 if needed but not certain you will need to reach 25600:). Also note that if you will see more noise in the image with higher ISOs but you will at least have the ability to capture the scene:). 3) Nikon removed the AA filter (this is the anti-aliasing filter which tends to soften images). Is it worthy of an upgrade? ... it is definitely worth considering in my opinion:). If you do upgrade, you can sell your D3200 body making the total upgrade cost less:). Hope this info helps to some extent!:)

Hi Joshua and great question!:) For many years I have shot with the Nikon D7000. I find the camera to be a solid and a very likable beast!:). I have used the camera is many situations (both indoor and out). Nonetheless, if I had to pick one based on your needs, I would consider the a6000. In low light situations sensor size and resolution can make a difference. All four cameras share a similar sensor but differ in resolution (the A7000 has 16mb vs the a6000 with 24mb). I feel the a6000 does a slightly better job in low light compared to the D7000 (note: I also fee the 70D and D5500 are slightly better as well). The a6000 is different in many ways compared to the others. The mirrorless format along with Sony's technology offers many advantages. With that stated I still reach for my D7000:). Why? The form factor:). I have grown accustom to the larger body, view finder, and much longer battery life (compared to the a6000). If these few items are of little concern, the a6000 is a great choice. The small form factor is a positive on many fronts as well ... much easier to maneuver and great for street photography. The pull-away screen is a great for low angle shots along with many other features (focus peaking, focus tracking, high-speed burst, etc.). Hope this helps!:)

Not a problem and glad to help:). Regarding the quality of image when using a Nikon lens on a Sony camera - the quality will not be impacted and should be fine. Using a lens adapter is a great solution to leveraging lenses from another manufacture (here is a relatively cheap adapter for Nikon to Sony - amzn.to/2e5bjXb). One note - you will lose auto focus capabilities but be prepared to use manual focus:). If you do not mind manual focus, the whole world of lenses will open up ... you can leverage just about any/old lens on the Sony. Sony's focus peaking is a HUGE help when using manual focus.

Hello and thank you for the question ... these two cameras are very similar with one main difference - the D5500 has a touch-screen (image quality is the same). If it were me and depending on costs (if they were the same costs), I would go for the D5500. The D5300 has the 70-300 providing a bit more reach, but I value the touch-screen more:). In addition, the D5500 has a slightly better battery rating (820 shots vs 600). If the D5300 is considerably cheaper (perhaps you found a used one), I would strongly consider the D5300. +jas77450 -- thanks for the comment:). A majority of the Sony lenses are manual zoom which I like:). The motorized version is in their 16-50mm lens which comes with some kits. If you get/have this lens, you will hear the zoom on the built-in mic. This is not a problem if you use an off camera mic. Nonetheless, I ended up getting the 18-55 which is non-motorized which is a good lens IMO.

Thanks for the post/feedback and glad to be of help!:) I know many people in a similar situation. I might suggest the Sony a6000 (this is the most affordable and will do a good job in my opinion - amzn.to/2M1HaZr ) or the a6300 or the a6500. The a6000 in full auto might fit your needs at a relatively affordable price as well. The camera has the ability to do more if you ever want to dive into the world of photography. If not, you can stay in full auto and let the camera do the rest.

Hello there, thanks for all the good info. So I recently bought a Nikon D3400 for personal use, wanting to take decent pix of my family instead of paying someone $100 or so every few months. I was wondering your thoughts on this, is this a good choice? I don't mind paying a little extra for a decent one, and eventually I will want to learn how to edit and maybe get into doing photography for others. Thanks.

Hello and welcome to the channel!:) Thanks for the feedback and question as well. I recently released my review of the D3400 which can be found here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mYC1eoGFlrGGis0 ... In addition, I will release my review on the Canon T6i in the next hour or two as well (another option for an entry level DSLR):). Good glass is an important consideration as well. I would suggest taking a look at the Nikon fixed 50mm 1.8 lens ... this is a good/solid portrait lens at a relatively low cost IMO. You can always use the lens on a different Nikon body down the road if you like. Since releasing my review on the D3400, I have taken many questions from people starting out which is great. This has motivated me to release more videos on next steps - a series of how to vids, etc.

Hello and thanks for the question:). I have been using the D7000 for many years and really enjoy the camera. There are three parts to a good image ... 1 - the body, 2 - the lens, 3 - the photographer. The most important of the three is the photographer followed by the lens and then by the body IMO. I also feel shooting in raw is a good choice. Both cameras feature the same sensor but the a6000 has a larger resolution. The a6000 may shoot slightly better images IMO, but I feel the results are relatively negligible. Ultimately, I enjoy the feel of the D7000:). Hope this helps to some extent:).

RealWorld Thanks, when I update I go for the D7200 and I do astrophotography and landscape, that's why I need to upload the pixels ... for the price, it seemed good option the a6000 since for street photography is much less voluminous. But I must decide on a body for everything, if I could go for the Fuji X-T2 or sony a7 but it is very expensive for me, in addition to their lenses. Thanks again, as you have the advantage of having both and tested.

Hello, i am gonna buy a camera in few days, and dont know wich one to take d5300 or d7000. D5300 has better lenses. Im interested in shooting landscapes/astrophotography, cars and city life. Please can you suggest something for me? D7000 atm have org lenses and nikor 50mm 1.8f. D5300 have Nikor 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR. Price are almost the same for both (both are used). D5300 made 4282 pictures, D7000 have 120k+ .

I would lean towards the D5300 (keep in mind that I have shot with the D7000 for many years and still have it:)). Nikon rates the shutter life of the D7000 at 150k shots and the D5300 at 100k shots. This is a rough gauge and many cameras will not have issues going past the given number as this is just a general benchmark. Nonetheless, the D5300 offers more features/benefits in my opinion (higher resolution, articulating screen, higher ISO, etc.).

Sony a6000 are the best option in my opinion but you also need some extra batterie/batteries for it if you are professional. The main disadvantage for me is that it does not have autofocus in the body (so called "screwdriver" here in Ukraine), which means that I will not get autofocus using Minolta or Sony A mount lenses with a simple cheap adapter from Minolta A/Sony A to Sony E mount. But even in this case, there is a way out - LA-EA5 (all trough it's quite expensive but useful )

Hi sir, I am am thinking of buying my first DSLR and interested in the Nikon D5600. However, with the same price I found that I can get a new D7100. The D7100 looks more solid and seems like it can bring me a long way, but the D5600 seems to be easier to learn ( as I said earlier, this is my first DSLR).IMO the D5600 is better for a starter like me, but the D7100 is equally as tempting. Can you give your opinion on this? Great video by the way.

Thanks for the post/feedback/question!:) Ahhhhh yes, I like the 7000 series and owned the D7000 for many years (still use it:)). You are correct with your observation regarding solid build/feel compared to the D5600. Nonetheless, both the 7100 and 5600 share the same size sensor and resolution, however the D7100 is weather sealed, the D5600 has a higher ISO (native - 25,600 vs 6,400), the D5600 has an articulating touch screen which is nice. If given the choice and knowing this is your first DSLR, I might lean towards the D5600. Keep in mind the D5600 is a couple of years newer and will typically hold it's value if you choose to sell and upgrade at some point:).

Thanks for the comment/question. I have been down a similar path and selected the Sony A6000 for video. I also like the Canon 70D but the A6000 brings a small body factor and mirrorless technology to the forefront. My only real challenge with the A6000 is the non-articulating screen (the screen does not face forward). I created a physical mirror as a hack to self view video (take a look at my channel to see the video). Yes, you can use the Sony app to take stills but the app cannot take video and causes a significant drain on the battery:).

This is a toss-up ... they both share the same sensor size and both have pros and cons. If given the choice, I would lean towards the D5600:). I actually have the D5600 and will create a video review in the near future. One of the greater benefits to the D5600 over the A68 is the lack of the AA filter. The AA (anti-aliasing) filter tends to make images soft and many photographers like it removed. This is not a huge deal but something to consider in my opinion:).

+clearevil -- Thanks for the comment. After having used a handful of different cameras, I still favor the Nikon simply because I am more familiar with all the controls, menus, etc. Nonetheless, Sony has my attention as I continue to put the a6000 through various paces. I am really starting to like this camera although it has a completely different feel compare to traditional DSLRs. I recently picked up the 18-200 OSS e mount lens which is very nice.

While travelling, i don't want my friends to be waiting for me for so long while I do my thing. Thanks for the post/feedback and welcome to the channel!:) Both cameras share a similar sized sensor and resolution, but I would lean towards to the D5500:). Some would say the A6000 is a bit smaller, but I find both to be similar after the lenses are added. The D5500 has a much better battery life (820 shots vs 360), does not overheat when shooting relatively long videos (the Sony will overheat when shooting a single clip longer than 10-12 mins), has a nice fully articulating touch screen, and lacks the AA filter (anti-aliasing filter which tends to make images soft).

From a clarity perspective I would give the edge to the Nikon D5500. Nikon removed the AA filter from the D5500 whereas Canon did not in their 750d (same for the 700d). The AA filter is also known as a low pass filter which tends to make images a bit softer. Most photographers prefer a camera without the AA filter ... this is not huge but something worth noting. Regarding user friendly - this is more preference based. You will have a slight learning curve on both, but I do not feel either is too difficult.

@RealWorld
@RealWorld 8 жыл бұрын
Hello and great question!:) I have experienced many cameras over the years and similar to other photographers, I have a few favorites:). Nonetheless, I suspect most if not all cameras have their pitfalls to some degree. If you are relatively new to the APS-C sensor world and want to stay in a given price range, I would strongly consider the a6000. If you are coming from the DSLR world, prepare for change:). I shot with DSLRs for many years and once I got my hands on the a6000, I was not certain what to think. The form factor was different/small; the battery was not nearly as long; the view finder was digital; BUT the camera offered various outstanding features (outstanding burst mode, great focus tracking, focus peaking, lighter compared to heavier DSLRs, etc.). Since Sony has released new versions with questionable modifications, I might suggest finding a used a6000. I am not a big fan of the 16-50mm power zoom lens, so I would search for a used 18-55 manual zoom as well and/or a fixed 50mm (which is a great portrait lens IMO). Hope this info helps!:)

Interesting comparison!:) Comparing mirrorless (a6000) to mirrored (D7100) is an ongoing debate. The a6000 and D7100 share the same sensor size and resolution, however they are fundamentally different. The a6000 is small/compact compared to the D71000 and packs a nice punch regarding features. Nonetheless, the D7100 is a workhorse. If it were me, I would lean towards the D7100, but I do not feel you would go wrong either way ... they both take great picts in my opinion:).

+doodyaviv -- thanks for the comment/question!:) If you are more focused on video, go for the Canon 70D without question IMO:). I have shot both and really like the feel of the D7000 but Nikon struggles with video specific to auto focus. The 70D can leverage STM lenses which are awesome. STM lenses make auto focus a breeze for the 70D not to mention the touch-screen which is nice. When trying to auto focus with the D7000, the camera hunts for any given auto focus point. I have shot other videos using my D7000, but they were challenging:).

Hi Selina and thank you for the question:). I have taken lots of street photos with my Nikon equipment (d7000) and have also used the Sony a5100 and the a6000 to do the same. If I had to choose from your list, I would go with the a6000 for a few reasons ... 1 - the a6000 is less expensive compared to the a6300 simply because the a6300 is newer (look for a used, refurb, or open box item); 2 - low profile - when taking street photos, I like to maintain a somewhat low profile (street photos are about capturing unscripted moments); 3 - the articulating screen is a nice feature to take low angle shots. The other cameras mentioned are good but a6000 and a6300 are mirorless and in a different class in terms of form factor. One additional note to consider with the a6000 and a6300 is battery life:) ... they burn through batteries relative quick which is not a huge deal IMO (simply carry an extra battery or two just in case:)).

When you speak about cameras and videos I think you should meantion the video quality these cameras can produce. To me 1080 60p is a must have. Unfortunately almost no Canon cameras are able to shoot 60 frames per second.
@RealWorld
@RealWorld 8 жыл бұрын
hello and thx for the comment!:) You make a good point regarding video quality. If you plan to leverage a DSLR for video, consider the video quality. I typically only leverage 60+ fps to high speed or slow motion effects. I know some people that love to use 60 for everything, but the human eye has been conditioned to 24 fps b/c of the film industry dating back many years when actual film was expensive:). 24 fps was deemed the slowest frame rate a human could view and still retain fluid motion (within reason). Fortunately, we do not leverage traditional film and so the reasoning for frame rate has changed. 24 fps is no longer needed to save on cost, it is only needed/used to maintain a cinematic look and feel. At some point generations from now, the standard might be 60 or greater. I have shot 120 and 240 to capture awesome slow motion (water droplets falling, etc.). Nonetheless, thanks for the comment!:)
@dejffjed

RealWorld Well, the best way for a amateur filmmaker to make money is to shoot a short clips. Mayit be song videos, sport promos, product selling videos, whatever... Having the option of 60fps slowed down to 25fps comes handy in all these cases. You can gain some extra stabilization as well. You can slow down a video portrait of a footballer just before he kicks the ball or make video look smoother if the camera moves too fast. It just gives you more freedom. What I find totally useless is 4K resolution... When I was to decide what camera to buy I was considering Nikon D7000 first cut my friend offered me his old piece. I don't have much funds so that's why. Then I switched to D3300 (because of 1080 60p), then I made my final decision and bought Nikon D5500 as you can take great photos with it and use it as a film camera. Btw I forgot to say thanks for your review. ;)

hello thanks for the question!:) If given these choices, I would go with the t6i. I like the d5500 for photos but I feel the auto focus mechanism recording vids hunts too much which can be very frustrating. I like the a6000 as well for both photo and video, but if you plan to record lengthy videos, you may experience overheating issues (I am working on another video to resolve this issue:)). In addition, the a6000 does not have a rotating screen, so if you shoot any vids with self-composition, you might get frustrated by the experience (I did create a mirror hack to help self compose shots). I do not think the t6i is the best for photos, but I feel it would be the best for vids!:). Hope this helps!:)

Thanks for the question!:) This is tough since the a6000 is mirrorless. I like them both but know that the feel to each is different. The a6000 is smaller and highly more feature rich in my opinion. Unfortunately, the a6000 tends to overheat when shooting any continuous video for more than 10 mins roughly. In addition, the screen does not fully articulate forward which is a downer for selfies, etc. The 750d is a more tradition DSLR which is fully capable, will not overheat, has a touch screen which fully articulates, etc. If I were you, I might base the final decision on cost ... take the lower price:).

Both share the same size sensor and have the same resolution, however I would lean towards the D5500. I have shot with both and currently us the a5100 to record videos (the a5100 overheats after about 10 mins of continuous recording (this is a common problem with various Sony cameras). I like the mirrorless concept on the a5100 but I prefer the slightly larger size and dependability of the D5500. The D5500 also has a much better battery life (820 shots vs 400), external mic port, and no AA filter (making for slightly sharper images).

Stills is important to me as well, however, as you've said, I'm probably gonna get the same quality photos with all of these cameras. As for video - you've mentioned the A6000 doesn't have the focus hunting effect which makes this $600 camera the best dslr with video shooting abilities that I can get for this price. I'm still thinking about A5100 and the Nikon d3300, however I'm afraid the Nikon won't be as good for videos because of all the focusing limitations (noise + hunting). The canon with STM is way out of my budget ): Thanks again!!

Thanks for the comment!:) The Sony a6000 should continue to drop in price as the a6100 takes hold (look used for some great deals). The Nikon d3300 takes great video but the focus hunting is bad IMO. Since there is no hunting with the a6000 nor the STM canon lenses, I would go with either for video. I may soon post a video I took with the Sony a5100 of the Indy 500 qualifications - the camera did a nice job:).

if i have $850 which camera good for me?
@RealWorld
@RealWorld 7 жыл бұрын
Hello and thanks for the question:). This might depend on your needs/purpose of the camera. In short, I would consider a used Nikon D5500 which I suspect you could get for less than $850. Nikon recently released the D5600 which is very similar to the D5500 for a few minor exceptions.

+RedZeds -- thanks for the comment:). You are correct and I discovered this fact after the video:). I created another video discussing various lenses which can be found here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWilonlviL-oeJo ... I talk about the non-motorized lens. In short, I really like it!:) The powered lens is nice as well simply because it is smaller but the motor sound is not my favorite (although not too bad):).

+RealWorld I have heard that Nikon uses Sony sensors so I can imagine that the a6000 would be amazing as well! The D7000 is amazing especially for the price, I've heard mixed reviews about the d7100 however. Do you know much about the d7100 and do you think it would be worth it to get one over the other?
@RealWorld
@RealWorld 8 жыл бұрын
+CyanSupernatural -- thanks for the comment:). I have heard the same regarding the sensor. If I did not already have the D7000 and were looking for a DSLR, I would consider the D7100. If I were in the same situation and on a relatively tight budget, I would not hesitate on the D7000. I feel they are very similar with a few exceptions (24mp vs 16mp, video frame rate, and more focus points). 24mp will grab a bit more detail although I never really had issues at 16mp (same applies to focus points). Video is interesting though. I am going to create another video discussing frame rates. I have recently created videos at 24, 30, and 60 for testing and there is a noticeable difference in the look and feel:).

Awesome, I would interested in watching that video! I have seen some gorgeous footage shot from the D7000 but I wonder if it is outdated compared to the recent additions and more frame rates.
@RealWorld
@RealWorld 8 жыл бұрын
+Matthew Rowberry -- I will have the frame rate video posted today along with a few samples using the Sony a6000 shooting at 24, 30, and 60fps. I did notice something interesting which might warrant a separate video ... I see a sharper image when recording with the D7000 using my fixed 50 @f2 manual focus compared to the a6000 using the Sony fixed 50 @f2 manual focus (also tried w/ auto). The image from the Sony appears to be softer - not necessarily bad, but considerable softer IMO. I am not certain if the results is due to the lens, camera body, settings, etc. I plan to research in more detail soon.
