Thanks Konstantin. I've had no joy in connecting my Z6II to my iPhone, so inspired by your video, I deleted Snapbridge and re-installed it. Then, I was able to connect both the Z6 and my D850! :-) Please keep the videos coming - and stay safe.

How is z2 Vs any DSLRs you have?.
@ShaneBaker3 жыл бұрын
@@harishchavdampagbaips3597 hi. A bit early to say - and I'd add that I bought the Z6II as an addition to the D850, rather than a replacement. I was after something lighter, that produced smaller files and would allow me to get my head around the new mirrorless technology. In that respect, it's doing what I wanted. :-) That said, I feel I'm on a steep learning curve when it comes to the many, many options for focussing. :-) To try to answer your question, I'd say that the files it produces aren't up to the D850 standard, but they're still very good. I've had a D70, D300 and D800 as well as the D850, and I'd rank it above all but the D850.

Thanks Kon. On my phone screen (Google Pixel 3a XL), this video flickered quite a bit in the shots of the back of the D850.

Hi David, not sure, we found a flick at 2:43 but nothing else. Wonder if it happened during the video rendering. 🤔
@DixonLu3 жыл бұрын
@@graysofwestminster I tried it also on my computer. Between 1:27 through 2:42, it seems every time a menu item on the D850 is selected, the screen flickers or blanks out. The effect is sort of like on some mirrorless camera during continuous shooting, the screen blacks out for a fraction of a second. But it may just be my eyes being overly sensitive.

Excellent video explanation. Short and to the point. Thanks. My Z6 and snapbridge have difficulty keeping a connection. Since snapbridge first come out (2016) , I have spent hours on updates, reinstallations, and there is no joy at all. I would like to mentioned that I've been with Nikon for decades and have been trying to discover a way to send photos to my clients minutes. Is there a cable that will allow a quick transfer to iOS? In the past i would use a card reader connected to my smartphone but in this era of everything wireless it is disappointing that Nikon hasn't sorted this. Sony seems to have sorted it. Any help would be appreciated.

So, should you use WIFI in combined with BT ? The SnapBridge APP sucks . It disconnects way too fast . I can not get it work for downloading firmware using my iPhone XR for my Z6II . Was trying to update the FTZ .

Will it work as a video monitor? I'm thinking of getting a Z6 and trying to come up with solutions for the screen not flipping around. The phone would be more convenient than a dedicated monitor if it is reliable enough.

Thank you Konstantin for this tutorial and to be honest I have not used this yet because I did think that all pictures were automatically downloaded, I will have a play with this today now that you have explained this better. Do you know how much of the camera battery this uses having it running in the background?
@graysofwestminster3 жыл бұрын
Dear Stephen, I prefer not to use automatic connection as you don't want to end with a flat battery for the next shoot. While battery usage is small it all adds up if you have a lot of images to transfer (automatic transfer). Personally I have "Airplane mode" activated at all times for piece of mind unless I need to connect to Snabridge or use wireless trigger.

I run into trouble with BT vs WiFi. Is it better to use Bluetooth? Why does SnapBridge allow both options? Why does the D850/Z7 offer the WiFi option?

I bought my D850 in 2018 and have never been able to get it to work with SnapBridge. I've re-installed the app several times and it is always the same. I connect with Bluetooth and try to download images from the camera. The phone says I have to enable WiFi to do this (or remotely control the camera). So I set this up and my D850 appears in the WiFi window on the phone but there is no connection. Then I find the bluetooth connection has been lost so I start again, and again, and again...... Then I give up.

Have the same issues, Snapbridge was a bag of spanners when it first came out, and still is even though I have the latest version 2.7.1 and latest firm ware on both my D500 and Z6II still cant get it to work, like you Graham have now given up on it and deleted off my phone and sent to trash bin where it belongs.

I use a D850 with firmware 1.3.1 and latest snapbridge on an Iphone reinstalled. When I have connected, the mobile app instantly goes back to "connect to camera". Nikon does a very poor job making this smooth and painless. I will not waste more on this. Good video by the way :-), unfortunately I have no luck.

All camera makers treat apps as an afterthought (they usually don't have dedicated app engineers). Having used apps from Nikon, Panasonic, Fujifilm, Olympus, only the Panasonic's UI made sense, most of the time. Others were incomprehensible or convoluted.

I just purchased the Nikon Z7ii, and I expect WAY more functionality than this app offers. There is close to no functions in this garbage app. I am expecting to access full menu functionality - You should be able to put the camera on a stand and do absolutely anything without touching the camera. Also it should be possible to taylor the app so YOU can pick the functions / settings you use the most, instead of the minuscule, random selection this app offers. Also; No one needs your tiny jpegs btw. Now I have to look for a third party app to do what Nikon should have offered. Been a Nikon fan for a long time, please don't drop the ball on your customers feet here Nikon.
