I noticed with Snapbridge it only lets you take 1 photo with the Self Timer. Is there anyway to set the actual Nikon camera to interval timer (so I can take multiple photos) and then use the snap bridge app as the remote?
@Shutterbug1013 жыл бұрын
According to Nikon, if your camera has the interval timer, you should be able to set it up and use the shutter release feature through the app to trigger it

@@Shutterbug101 at 3'28'' in your video - display options for download, the option to filter by/select only protected or rated images does not appear in my app. for me who work with hard news photography, this would be a very important and usable tool, as it makes it much faster to download photos that are already pre-selected in the camera with a star rate or protect, but my app has been updated, as has the camera's firmware, and these options just don't appear to me.

How does the camera's wifi and bluetooth affect battery drain when using Snapbridge?
@Shutterbug1013 жыл бұрын
Great question! The wifi can definitely drain the battery as on top of using the display, it is now feeding a signal to your smart device. So I would recommend turning off the wifi (or turning on airplane mode) when you do not plan on using the wifi to preserve battery. It will also affect the battery on your smart device so keep extra batteries or battery packs on hand!

Hi, thank you for the video!!! Most of my shooting will be far away from any home wifi, for example up in the mountains where there is no internet. Would I be best to just leave everything on blutooth??? Thanks Rich
@Shutterbug1013 жыл бұрын
When using the wifi feature, the wifi signal is coming from your camera directly, so your actually better off being in the middle of nowhere! You could easily use wifi or Bluetooth.

Hello, thanks for the helpful video. After I connected my phone and camera together and when I chose the remote photography option, my camera says “connected to smart device” and the camera won’t show anything else, like it won’t show what my lens is showing. When I look at my phone, the screen from my camera is just plain black. I don’t know how to fix this, do you possibly know what I’m doing wrong? Sorry this is a bit hard to explain so if you don’t have an answer I completely understand.
@kaleighp77233 жыл бұрын
Also, the app says it cannot start remote photography because the live view is active or my camera is in shooting mode. So when I don’t have my camera in live view, the picture taking screen on my phone says “LV off” so it’s like they want me to turn it on.
@Shutterbug1013 жыл бұрын
Which model do you have? That is definitely an odd occurrence. It is normal for the camera screen to go black and the display to be on your smart device instead but your saying your device says it can’t because it’s on live view?
@kaleighp77233 жыл бұрын
@@Shutterbug101 thanks for answering! I have the Nikon D3500. When I’m on the SnapBridge app and when I’m on the Remote Photography option the screen will show an option to take pictures but the screen is black when it really should be showing what my camera can record and take pictures of. It also says on the screen “LV off” (live view) but when I try to turn on my live view a message pops up saying I can’t use remote photography when my live view is on or when I’m in shooting mode on my camera.
@Shutterbug1013 жыл бұрын
It is true that you can't use the live view on the camera while using the remote mode. Upon asking my Nikon representative, it looks like the D3500 model doesn't support the live view during remote option in Snapbridge. So what you would need to do is set your camera up on a tripod and compose your shot before accessing remote mode to trigger the shutter.

@Shutterbug1013 жыл бұрын
When your camera is connected, you can access app options in the app>adjust your location accuracy. You can also access your Auto Link options from there and turn on all options to ensure it is actively geotagging photos and saving power where it can since it will be using more battery power in your phone and camera than usual.

This review did completely miss the point! What makes SnapBridge so great is its Blutooth feature: it connects via Blutooth, stays connected in the background all the time and actually CONTROLS both the camera and smartphone Wifi in a completley automated way - so you never have to switch Wifi settings on your phone yourself! SnapBridge switches to Wifi only when doing remote LiveView or download, and uses Blutooth otherwise - to then sync clock, GPS and camera roll between camera and smartphone in the background w/o any user intervention! I.e., you shoot with your Nikon and then immediately share the photo to IG or WA via your smartphone's camera roll.
@Shutterbug1013 жыл бұрын
That is correct, however, you need to get it connected and introduced to your phone first. Most people have a hard time getting it set up initially and then give up which is why I made this video. These apps can do a lot once you get them connected.

Five ***** training! Nikon makes great camera hardware! However, they need to do something about the infuriatingly frustrating and obtuse user interfaces in all their application software. This particular software is a POS, which is a great example until I found your video. I have had all of the pro-level cameras, starting with the D1. I found your training only because moving from the D3sx and D850 to the Z8 and need GPS data. Maybe someone in Nikon's marketing department will read this...
