World first Nikon Z6II quarantine review. Incredibly accurate AF and massive buffer, I am getting over 110 NEF frames to a burst with autofocus.
Watch as I have to improvise my real world test with me as the subject replicating backlit, low contrast, low light and pocket wizards, just like my action rig set-up on a Bond film.
I am no reviewer as you can see but I am a full time photographer working on some of the biggest Action movies ever!
I need fast accurate focus in low contrast low light and a buffer that can keep up with me.
From my initial tests from my quarantine facility the Z6ii delivers on both.
There are a bundle of new additions to this camera and every question we had regarding the initial Z release has been addressed!
Nikon listened!
The Z6II may look the same but under the hood it's a completely different animal, streamlined and turbo boosted with the dual Expeed 6 processors!
I Am in Love...

Of course, that's why I started this channel to help photographers with questions. It's mainly about photographer interviews and you will find lots of helpful info here. When it looked like we wouldn't work for a year I started it to give us all a bit of purpose, myself included. Let me know what you think.

Great review Jas, was waiting for this one from you! Think I'm gonna take the plunge on it! Just wondering if you know how the sensor readout speeds on it are, just thinking about the banding under lights etc - closer step towards the A9 capabilities?! Thanks again!

Great test and good to see you doing well in quarantine. I can't wait for my Z6ii to arrive, but then we go into lockdown again on Thursday here in the UK so I'll end up spending all my time shooting my puppy and wishing I had a longer lens to try catching the Red Kites Flying overhead.

Wow! It doesn't look like the ISO you used was that high! If you hadn't mentioned there was heavy backlighting, I wouldn't have thought there was at all. That's amazing, because backlighting drives me nuts on set, LOL! Thanks for the samples!

@@JasinBoland I also appreciate your message of support and the offer for others to reach out to you during these isolating times. It's already been a lonely road still working one's way up in this 'solo' field. But now with this situation when the work is even more scarce for many stills photogs, frustration can set in, leaving some wondering if they can ever make it in. Thank you!

Hey Jasin, thanks for the video! I’m eagerly awaiting my Z 6II to show up like many here too. I recently just came across another video of someone showing the noise that shows up on the LCD display in very low light conditions - something that he said didn’t happen on his Z 6. He did a comparison to show it. Wondering if you’ve experienced this with your copy. Seems to happen when viewing the LCD in very low light and pushing the iso up, the display shows lots of noise which didn’t happen on the original Z 6. Hoping that’s not the case.

Hi Jason: This has really been helpful for me, but I am curious to know why you have chosen the Z6ii over the Z7ii. Is it just a matter of megapixels?
@JasinBoland
@JasinBoland 2 жыл бұрын
I use them both but mostly the 7II I only use for poster shoots or when super high res is needed.

@@JasinBoland Thanks Jason - I have been using my Aquatech Blimps for a long time, but as you know they do get heavy. I just got caught a little in not wanting to change what I know, but I am looking forward to moving into mirrorless and having more capable technology at hand + the drop in weight. Happy Wednesday

Does the shutter remain open when camera is off, I heard issues with dust issues?

I have been on the Z system since the very first day of release and have never heard of this issue. Of course if you change lenses in the middle of a dust storm every camera will attract some bunnies.

Why? I just bought 2 Z6ii.I actually do these little tests for me, these are the things I want to know about a camera or a lens, but since Covid I wasn’t sure how long it would be before I would work again so when I did my own tests I just shared them with Nikon like minded shooters to make up their own minds. I’m only here to pass on my observations, I am a working photographer shooting 300 days a year. I’m not a KZbin entertainer I don’t get paid by KZbin or Brands or Stores or am I trying to sell you anything and I certainly wouldn’t put my career where I do get paid over an Ambassadorship or endorsement Loads of great photographer interviews on my channel if you ever have time to look. Same thing I started them during Covid to entertain myself and share the stories of amazing unknown photographers for free for people like yourself.

Normally I would agree and take a brand ambassador's recommendation with a grain of salt, but if you've ever heard Jasin talk about camera gear before and how he shoots in the field you would realize that he only talks about real world scenarios and the unbiased capabilities of equipment. He has built a solid reputation over many years as a pro, and his work speaks for itself. I encourage you to look at more of his videos or attend his workshops and make up your own mind as I did, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised how genuine and inspirational he is :)
