Thanks for the informations. I would hate a flip out screen. I love the way it is on Z8/Z9. It’s more reliable and, most important, it’s in the optical axis! Anyhow, for vlogging it’s more comfortable to use a Z30 or similar. Thinks are not better because other are doing it. Sometimes it’s better just to do your things a bit different. I’m currently using a Z6II. A Z6III with flip screen I wouldn’t buy. That the reason why I never bought the Zf. Greetings from Germany Stephan

I have been keeping regular 3 monthly records of the DPReview Got/Have/Wanted figures for the last 3 or 4 years. I know its not 100% and it is biased towards full frame - not so many APSC-users. But it does give an idea of what serious photographers (DPReview members?) are using For the last few quarters Nikon has been ahead of Canon in new "Gots" and the quarter just gone Nikon amazed me and were ahead of Sony. Its all due to the Z8 and Z9. Even the Z6 and Z6ii totals are good. Also The two Japanese retailers that Camera Conspiracies reports on have had Nikon in the top tens quite a few times lately. Whereas 2 years ago you would be lucky to see one Nikon in the top ten. But of course that's just Japan and its all mirrorless cameras.

Nice overview Frames! We sure hope this is true and that the Z6III is imminent - this is a camera that Nikon needs in the lineup - but I also believe they need the entry level better covered as well - a Z5II would be most welcome - something to compete head to head with the R8 but of course it would be much superior with full sized battery, IBIS and 2 card slots. I think they should simply put out the Zf internals in a Z6II (Z5) body with a flip screen and call it a day for $1600. Still, getting an Expeed 7 camera in the mid line is likewise critical and the Z6III should be a real killer to shock the market at the sub $2500 price point - only time will tell, but hopefully this means weeks now - we all feel like we've ben waiting years... -PD

im not sure if I missed you mentioning this but that top plate where its printed Z 6 iii is recessed . the top plate on my Z8 isn't . I dont remember on my Z6ii if it was but seems to be an obvious thing in that leaked photo and no one has mentioned the recessed top plate.

1. New financial year has started 2. 33mp makes no sense with 3 45mp sensor & implies Sony as the source 3. Flip out screens although I prefer them are for everyone the xt5 as I remember dropped the flip out from the xt4. 4. If this photo is genuine more leaks no doubt will come very soon

with 33 megapixels, you’re definitely getting your required 24 megapixels. But with 24mp, those who need a little more won’t be served. So I disagree. Xt series are street and travel camera hyper focused on photography. Going forward, a 2k usd FF camera won’t be a photo first camera.

End of last year the Z8 was offered for 3.7k. If Z6III will be 3k, I wait for the next Z8 deal.
