You are wildly intelligent. As someone who doesn't know anything about the actual physiology of singing, you explained it very well. Not gonna lie though, thank you for saying you're Finnish because I don't know any Finnish people here in New York so my first reaction was..."Well, that's a weird Russian dialect I've never heard before."

A very informative and fun video! 😀 Perennial Live at Wacken would be a good next video. You will notice that Tatiana can look very different in all of her videos. Also, since I saw that a comment indicated that you are Finnish, so here is the link to a brilliant Finnish band "POETS OF THE FALL" with a classically trained singer live at the Alexander Theatre along with 3 or 4 female violin and cello musicians and his own acoustic band ..10 musicians in all in a bare concert hall. Brilliant!! Link to the song "Rebirth": kzbin.info/www/bejne/fp3XqYCXrN-ZpNk

The thing about her growls and screams that amazes me is that she still has such precise pitch and dynamics control that she can make her vocal inflections more audible so that the lyrics are intelligible. I've never heard another metal singer that had this kind of pitch control while growling. Tati is amazing. The Blessed Beast.

You summoned us?! Jinjer fans will be here momentarily (well, if not here already and I'm late to the party 🎉). Welcome to the beautiful world of Jinjer, I honestly believe there is no one else like them in music nowadays. Personally haven't been so excited about a new band since the grunge years in the 90s. It's easy to get caught in Tatiana's vocal skills that are of the charts indeed, but don't underestimate the rest of the guys, all of them are freaking geniuses. Fun facts, Tatiana has no formal vocal training and the drummer is a classical trained pianist. Oh, and don't expect the next song you'll listen from them to sound anywhere close to Pisces, they have no two songs alike. Thank you for the subtitles, in all fairness would have watched the video anyway, hoping to get a glimpse of a word that may sound familiar every now and then 🙃

This has probably already been said but, Tatiana stated that she isn't classically trained and she just learned it from practicing. She also never warms up her voice before she sings. I loved the fact that you pointed out that she has great diction when she growls. She is one of the few with that register of growl that you can understand. Randy Blithe from Lamb Of God also has a very similar growl. Tatiana I believe developed hers from his. She has many influences that range from pop, metal, rock, hip-hop, etc. The rest of the band are also some of the most talented musicians that I enjoy listening to. In my opinion they make music that other musicians enjoy. You should react to Judgment and Punishment vocal 1 take from Tatiana. It's one of my favorite songs from this band. I also really enjoyed your video.

And I like the sound of your speech pretty much. Adorable. PS if you'd be interestend to investigate more of Tatiana's abilities - the best choice for every vocal coach is Judgment and Punishment (one take vocal performace). If you wish to see more of Tatiana's abilities, there are two videos I highly recommend : first, the one-take video of Tatiana recording the vocals for Judgement and Punishment (a good one for assessing vocal technique, because the camera stays on Tati the whole time); and, second, Jinjer's performance of Perennial live at Wacken 2019 (it's the last song of their set, and demonstrates Tati's stamina and her ability to rapidly switch between her different vocal styles).

I have just started going through your videos and it finally clicked that you are from Finland and many of my favorite bands are from your country. I’m American, but the majority of what I listen to is from Europe. It all started with searching for Melodic Death Metal and, even though it’s birthplace is Sweden, most my favorite bands in that genre are Finnish. I love anything from Tuomas Saukkonen (Before the Dawn, The Final Harvest, Black Sun Aeon, Dawn of Solace, and Wolfheart), Insomnium, Mors Principiun Est, Norther (with Petri Lindroos but don’t care for Ensiferum), and Omnium Gatherum. There are other bands I listen to from there, but it’s 3:30 in the morning and I need to pass out. However, it’s nice seeing someone experience Tatiana for the first time. It’s one of those life changing moments because everyone reacts the same way: “That can’t be coming from her. This has to be fake. Oh, wait, it’s real!” You are one smart cookie because you already knew something was off when you were being wooed by a tiny and pretty ladies soft and beautiful voice. I used to think Angela Gossow was the Queen of Metal, but when she stepped down and made Alissa White-Gluz her replacement, I started listening to Jinjer and Tatiana took the title. Angela didn’t use clean vocals and nobody could match her growl…until Tatiana showed the world you could scream and growl like a demon, but sing like an angel. Also. I’m really enjoying reading the subtitles because I would rather see and hear you excited and just speaking freely without trying to think of the words in English. Great breakdown/reaction and I’ll keep going through your channel. I’m looking forward to see what else you check out.

Wow, what a trip. Your Johnny Cash 'Hurt' (one of my favourite songs) reaction popped up in my feed and I really enjoyed your analysis so I thought I'd check out bands/artists that I knew nothing about and thought I'd give Jinjer a listen. I've got to admit my reaction when she transitioned into the growl was much like yours, 'where the hell did that come from, an angelic voice switches to Regan Macneil from the film The Exorcist in a seemingly effortless transition'. Your analysis of Hi Ren is the most intelligent and informative I've seen. Love how you mix music theory with the mechanics of the voice. I know I'm a bit late to the Anna party but hey, better late than never. Subscribed.

I am most and foremost a heavy music fan but was Dimashed 2 years ago, so it was funny to see your Dimash reaction and now this one to Tatiana. If you want a good suggestion, another female fronted band with a great versatile singer is Spiritbox. Courtney's voice is more versatile and rich i think and her screams are a bit easier to understand. A great introduction song to them is Blessed be or Rules of nine. If you wish to jump a bit further, try Falling in Reverse. I'm not a vampire (revamped) is such a modern day epic it's definitely worth a listen to. Finally on the Dimash train, you have also Diana Ankudinova, she is 16 and has a mesmerizing voice. Love your reactions, this one was so genuine, thank you 😊

Hello Anna. You blushed the most lovely shade of red when she did her first growl. I had to laugh but more so, I had to sub. I mean you did a great job breaking down what she is doing in this song. I don’t pretend to understand the enigma called Tatiana nor do I understand how the entire band is so on point. Very much appreciation. Hope you listen to Perennial live at Wacken 2019 next. It’s of course a live performance and I think you’d enjoy it. The band has a multitude of playing styles and her voice adapts to each one. She’s a fantastic lyricist as well. Thanks again!

Love Jinjer :) Great reaction. It never gets old watching people react to this song :) And thanks for the English subs. I love watching vocal coaches react to Jinjer and Tatiana's vocal ability. It's interesting what each coach points out and with different perspectives. I like your commentary. I've seen a lot of these videos for this song from vocal coaches and you added some new things and reinforced other things. I like that you pointed out the excellence of the musicians and how that must make it great for Tatiana. Eugene, Roman, and Vlad create a great platform for Tatiana's vocals. It's just an awesome combination. This song is all about the duality of Pisces and it has personal application for Tatiana and Eugene (he's the bassists - he helped write some of it - they are both Pisces). Tatiana said it's a very personal song as well as I Speak Astronomy. Definitely don't overlook their lyrics. They are poetic, deep, and meaningful. Tatiana puts a lot of effort into them (she writes the lyrics and vocal lines - with some exceptions). Considering English is her third language, that makes it even more impressive. The band is: Tatiana - vocals Eugene - bassist Roman - guitarist Vlad - drummer As other people have suggested for next songs: Perennial: Live at Wacken Open Air 2019 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKnMZJxvrN-EeM0&ab_channel=NapalmRecords. Has some great soaring long notes and vocal switching between styles. One of my favorite songs. Judgement (& Punishment): Tatiana Shmayluk - One Take Vocal Performance - kzbin.info/www/bejne/h2bVmJJsaLibp8k&ab_channel=JinjerMetalBand. A great video to see her up close and it's a one take, so that's impressive as well. Great switching between vocal styles in this video. Another favorite :) I Speak Astronomy: Official Video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/gXvSgXydnJZqi5Y&ab_channel=NapalmRecords, Live in Melbourne 2020 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHmvoKiOgM-HhLM&ab_channel=NapalmRecords. The official video is really cool. The Live in Melbourne version is the best live version I've seen (great audio). This is an awesome song and has some long high belts and soft singing with a couple extreme vocal lines. There are so many other songs that are awesome (I honestly love all their songs), but this is a good start. They have a few songs that are all clean vocals and no extreme vocals, Bad Water (grungy/bluesy), Beggar's Dance (outro to King of Everything LP - jazzy), Prologue (intro to King of Everything LP - sort of an ominous vibe to it), liannereP (outro to Macro - sort of ambient/electronica using some of the mellower parts of Perennial). Bad Water is the only one that has a live video and music video. The other three just have audio only videos with the album cover art (not great from a reaction perspective, but great to check out on your own). Really lets you see the musical flexibility of the whole band. They don't fit into any genre. Bad Water (no extreme vocals): Official Live Video (Kiev 2017) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6qlqp1re56NoLM&ab_channel=NapalmRecords, Official Music Video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXayfn13rsaJba8&ab_channel=JinjerMetalBand Prologue (no extreme vocals - album intro): Official audio w/album cover art - kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWeYdGCHhbSLgpI&ab_channel=Jinjer-Topic Beggar's Dance (no extreme vocals - album outro): Official audio w/album cover art - kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2SmZ2yqpJiInMk&ab_channel=Jinjer-Topic liannereP (album outro - great pseudo ambient sound - no extreme vocals): Official audio w/album cover art - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mGnGY4CurNmnr5I&ab_channel=Jinjer-Topic And for some songs that have some heavy extreme vocals in them: Who is Gonna Be the One: Live at Atlas 2017 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2fVp2innp1gbtU&ab_channel=NapalmRecords. Awesome performance. Love this song. Pit of Consciousness: Official Music Video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZeWZmabqt6FpNE&ab_channel=NapalmRecords, Live in Kiev 2019 (great quality) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHbLqaiEqq2KotU&ab_channel=NapalmRecords. Another of my top Jinjer songs and both videos are great. Home Back: Official Video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqXCepKdndKLf7M&ab_channel=NapalmRecords. A very personal song about war and their own experience with the war that broke out in eastern Ukraine where they are from in 2014. They had to leave their home. Retrospection: Official Music Video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZmVqoKbl8h4hK8&ab_channel=NapalmRecords. An awesome song dedicated to their parents and friends that helped them get to where they are in life and their fans. A very personal song for them. Much more to say about this, but I'll put that in the comments of the video if you react to it.

I have seen so many reactions to this song; everything from the most ignorant Americans who literally thought the name of this song was “Pieces” to adept vocal coaches who stopped the song so many times they probably analyzed All of the pieces of “Pisces”. Your video was the most entertaining of them all by Far - and I learned more about singing and vocals in this video than any tutorial ever. I took guitar lessons for months but I have never heard an instrument explained so well as you have in this video - I am not exaggerating. I have to say honestly that many bands like Jinjer, Immortal, Eluveitie, The Beatles, Borknagar, Tyr, and Arch Enemy have inspired me to pursue music More. But this is the first time a vocal coach has inspired me take my own voice more seriously and sing professionally. Do you conduct vocal coaching lessons online?

I love your native tongue, and I love you too. You guys are like native Americans of Europe! Nightwish, Apocalyptica, Amorphis, damn. I've dated one Finnish lady and she was all right up there... And there too. Good, surprised reaction, that's why I am here for. Keep up the good work, Madame.
