Je suis un français de 44 ans, j'ai découvert cette artiste à l'âge de 10 ans dans une émission TV présentée par Frédéric Mitterrand (neveu du Président de la République française et ex-ministre de la Culture) sur Antenne 2 sans rien capter... parce qu'on ne comprends pas grand chose à cette âge là. Par contre, on ressent les choses sans aucun à priori ! Et ce que j'ai ressenti à travers l'écran ce soir-là, c'est la particularité de Nina, sa présence vocale et son charisme. Bref, on a beau la critiquer outre-Rhin en la traitant de personne provocatrice, folle et droguée... il y a un moment où il faut être intellectuellement honnête ! C'est une femme qui vit pour son Art et qui le transmet et le partage avec tout le monde ! C'est unique et précieux parce qu'il n'y en a peu dans le monde du "show business" qui arrive à réaliser ce pari fou ! Comme disait l'écrivain Michel Sollers, il y a deux sortes d'artistes : ceux qui connaissent le succès (commercial) et ceux qui ont la notoriété (artistique). Nina appartient clairement à cette seconde catégorie et c'est la plus importante ! J'ose espérer qu'elle recevra le jour de sa disparition des hommages nationales car, au-delà de son talent musical intact, son engagement et ses actions politiques pour les droits des minorités religieuses et sexuelles sont profondément louables et véritables (comme Wolf Biermann, son ex-beau père d'ailleurs). Grâce à eux, nous sentons notre esprit et notre âme grandir et pour cela, je vous remercie vivement du fond du cœur, chère madame Hagen ! 😊❤

This is probably one of her absolute best concerts. I was only 15 at the time, but I so wish I had travelled to Germany to see it, I did not live that far away. My top four artists are from that time, Nina Hagen, Kate Bush, Siouxsie Sioux and Patti Smith, all women. I think it is restrictive to call Nina "Queen of Punk", the music on this concert is more similar to Genesis and 70s rock than Sex pistols. I regard her more as a sort of cross genre entertainer, and a phenomenon as such!

Cette musique n´a le moindre rapport avec un cliché punk. Les éléments épiques et le genre cabaret, opéra déclamés avec l´accent berlinois, font apercevoir leur origine continentale mème traditionelle. Ainsi remarquables sont les rimes, particulièrement adaptées à cet (ancien) accent prolétarien. C´est une classe largement au dessus du pop.
