I think Nina Hagen is absolutely wonderful. Sure, she's often on the outskirts of "commercial" music, but there's sooo much of that already. She's her own unique creation and with a heart of gold. Nina sometimes plays different character parts in some of her songs. Like "Smack Jack" for instance. Sometimes sounding like a gravel voiced man, and other times a high pitched feminine voice. Then she uses her powerful rock voice and also her incredible opera capabilities, all to tell the story like no-one else can. Can you tell I LOVE Nina Hagen? 😆🥰🙏💗

I think she was just too mad for her day and age 😀Too talented and well known for the GDR to just make her disappear into prison, but also too much to handle to have her perform. So off to the West with her... Today she may have either a niche following in some artsy venues, or be a global superstar if the right songs went viral.
