Excuse me please, my time machine went the wrong direction, for a moment I thought I'd landed in 1967's San Francisco because "If you′re going to San Francisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair" (Scott McKenzie). 1967, btw, was the year I was born. My favorite Nina Hagen song still is "Du hast den Farbfilm vergessen, mein Michael": "You forgot the color film, my Michael, now nobody believes us how nice it was here" (1974). Two years later, in 1976, she was extradited from the GDR, the former socialist state of eastern Germany, and rumor has it that the "Michael" in that song referred to Michael Schalck-Golodkowski, their minister for Foreign Trade back then who had forgotten to order color films from the west while their only factory for them had shut down due to maintenance or so. In the song itself, Michael is her boyfriend who forgot the color film and only could take pictures of her and the beach they were at in black and white. Nina made it to some fame in West Germany as a punk rock lady, and even in France, which astounded me because the French, like the U.S. Americans, are known for refusing to learn other languages because they're having issues with speaking their own one correctly.
