Ninety Nine Sheep is not Enough

Christianity has turned many of Jesus' sayings and parables upsidedown calling evil good and good evil. Take the Lost Sheep Parable as an example. Jesus looks for a single lost sheep until He finds it, yet traditional Christianity has so narrowed the way to salvation that scarcely a single sheep is saved. Found out the truth in this wonderful parable. Ninety nine is not enough for Jesus. He must have all He paid for!

Yes, it's amazing how much hate there is in the church towards a God who never fails. The church really loves a god who fails miserably? Perhaps that is because their image of god is in their own image.

What makes you think only one thief went with Him? Also see if you can find some articles on line and translations that word it this way: I say to you TODAY, you will be with me in paradise. You see, where one puts the comma changes the meaning. In the Greek there is no punctuation. Translators have to decide where to put the punctuation.

I believe it to mean 'this day' when Jesus enters His kingdom. Jesus enters His kingdom when He returns to set it up from Israel

as in Adam all die. so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming... but the rest of the dead lived not 'til after the thousand years were finished. so the "rest of the dead" will also be "made alive" (in Christ) could you spend eternity in heaven while billions of unelect spend eternity in torment? I couldn't. I won't.

@davidbrucemusicvideo There is an article on the tentmaker ministries site that is entitled "God "might" save the world." If you google that title and tentmaker, it will probably come it and deals specifically with the word "might' as in God might save the world. It's kind of a long article but I think it handles your concern. let me know what you think.

Isn't it possible or even likely that John 17:2 is actually referring to only the elect. The elect being those saved before His second coming.

Actually I think it is pretty clear in the context that John 17:2 is referring to the elect. Read verses: 2,6,9,24 Verse 9 says, "I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me." Please let's not ignore the context. The doctrine you teach may be correct, but we need to use the right scriptures exegetically to teach the true doctrine.

@dwellceller The context is "little ones" who haven't really gotten "religious" or indoctrinated to be disciples or "churchians" yet. Mat 18:14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish. Unless you become as "little ones" you'll have a hard time seeing God loves you because you will trust in your own righteousness. Become as a little kid coming to a loving dad. That's hard for some of us. But there's your place to come to trust.

@dwellceller The parable is part of a trilogy of parables in Lk 15 about finding what was lost. The sermon was delivered to the "publicans and sinners"(V.1). I refer you to Isaiah 53:6 "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned-every one-to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all." Jesus' constant theme was that he came to save "that" which was lost. What was lost? All mankind. He saved "that" which was lost, not "many" or "some of" which was lost. All.

they, like all those who die unsaved, will suffer the fate of the wicked. but... every knee shall bow & every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord, to the glory of God. Does God love everybody? Does God WANT all to repent? Did Jesus die for everyone's sins? I think God's got it covered : )

@dwellceller We are all lost sheep. We get lied to by Satan, the father of lies. We become wise in our own eyes. We must have the eyes of a little child to see the kingdom and God's love for us. Children are more faithful than adults because they still have innocence. The evils in the world harden us to where it is hard to believe in a loving God anymore. From God's point of view, you ARE innocent, you ARE His, you ARE loved. Open your heart to His forgiveness/love. Reject the lies in yr head.

Non-elects are not Jesus' sheep and will spend eternity in torment. Jesus sacrificed Himself for ONLY His sheep (God's elect) therefore none of them will be lost.
