Those violinists in the orchestra must be thinking, "If only I could play like that! Me too! My God to able to play like that and make it sound so effortless! What a gift indeed!!! LOVE this artist!
@xoma93772 жыл бұрын
There's no music in what he plays, just a heap of strokes, scratches and squeaking; has nothing to do with Belcanto. What's more, the intonation is off in too many passages.

@h. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZu9gZqMl7mZrNk Here is a link to Leonidas Kavakos playing this cadenza - that's the way it should be played.
@xoma93772 жыл бұрын
@h. Some skills and technique are surely there, but listening to this heap of sounds is difficult. If you are a violinist, follow the link above and listen to Leonidas Kavakos playing this cadenza for your enjoyment. Kavakos plays real music, not just a mess of sounds, and plays it in style. That's what make European violinists so different from Asian ones. The latter are workaholics, that's true, they are technicians, they have skills, but most of them do not understand European classical music and can't play it properly, even Ray Chen. For me the real paragons of violinist's performing art, apart from Kavakos, are Anne-Sophie Mutter, Janine Jansen, Leonid Kogan.

@@ts13579_texas_usa of course sauret could play the cadenza lol. Could heifetz play the cadenza ? David Nadien? Of course it would be child’s play and Heifetz was born 1902? When you go back in time you actually find that the violinists were far greater than anybody playing today . it’s just silly to think that someone would write something they cannot play . It’s like saying Rachmaninoff cannot play his piano concertos because he lived so long ago.

The tradition not to applaud after the first movement is absolutely wrong and not necessary. Everyone want to applaud but keep silent only because someone stupid made it stupid tradition. If someone famous like Karajan or Toskanini breaks the bad tradition, perhaps it will stop. Keeping quiet between movements made the classical concerts all the more sleepy and boring.
@TienTran-nm6ms3 жыл бұрын
I completely agree. It's so forced and unnatural. Ruins some pieces. If the music makes the audience want to break out in applause, then the effect is ruined by forced silence. Classical music could be so much more popular if concert culture weren't so inhibited!

No, no, and again no. He has so brilliant technique that he can't resist showing it, no matter what. As if he is so eager to show all he know that cannot insert proper pause between phrases. Constantly with this guy you are sort of kidnapped and tied to a chair. Then he appears with enormous pot full of delicious sausages; then he cuts sausages terribly fast and skillfully, and forcefully feeds you untill you suffocate. He should decide to play music, not just his brilliant technique.
