I ordered an 8 qt. Emeril air fryer/pressure cooker. When I got it, however, I noticed that it didn't have the accessories to air fry. The telephone salesperson didn't mention that the cooker didn't come with the air fryer parts, and most people probably assume that everything comes together as it's advertised on tv. Anyway, my wife soon ordered and paid for the accessories. A few days later she was told they were out of stock. We'll probably send back the pressure cooker and get back our money. That'll be about $25 shipping and handling that we have to pay.

One comment about the dimensions, we replaced our Instant Pot 8Qt with the Emeril Lagasse Pressure Air Fryer in part because the Ninja was so wide that it wouldn't fit the same storage cart. The round, three tier cart from Amazon is super popular and suits the Legasse perfectly. The Ninja is at least 2 inches too wide to fit. When you are short on storage, such considerations are important. . Great video though. 👍

Exactly what I was needing and a nice short video that really gets down to the basics and important differences between the two. Am I correct in understanding there is a slightly newer version of the Ninja Foodi? Does the newer version still have an attached lid? Does the attached lid ever get in the way when you’re cooking with the other lid? Thank you for your video!

I’m on the fence...I like the size of Emeril’s and the fact that you can detach the cord. Not liking that the Foodi has the attached cover, I’m afraid that it will either fall and clamp down on on my hands or I’ll hit my elbow and burn it trying reaching in with that lid so close.

4givenbyf8th Yes, the attached lid is what I’m a bit nervous about. I think the slightly slimmer size of the Emeril will better suit my needs (and storage), as well as being able to detach the cord for storage as I do with other appliances that I put into storage when not in use! But the attached lid might be the decision maker for me, I just feel it would get annoying when using the other lid - annoying in the sense it would be in the way, something for my elbow to knock into and without the detaching cord.... tragedy could follow! I think I’m going to go with the Emeril. I think I’ve decided! Especially since I’m not the only one who finds the attached lid to be a potential hazard! Same here, people don't get it. Especially older Spanish people. I try to explain to them that cooking in Aluminum pots can increase your chances of getting Alzheimer's and Dementia as well of a few other things. When I got to Someone's house to ear in Puerto Rico "while on Vacatio" one of the first things I do is look at what Pat's the dinner was made in. Once I see aluminum pots, I make all kind of excuses. What else can you do, my health comes before their kind hearted gesture that can make me I'll.

Hubby got me Emeril's for Christmas..what a good man! One problem was the lack of accessories! Tho he paid for the extra parts, they were not included....so far I have managed to run the test on the pressure cooker, & it was successful, I didn't blow it up, which honestly was my fear. LOL I admit, the idea of using a pressure cooker has always been intimidating, but so far, so good. I am a bit disappointed in the recipe book that came w/ it because many of the recipes call for the additional accessories that did not come w/ it...so...will work w/ what I have for the time being....other problem I have is the lack of instructions when using items straight from the freezer, which I understand we should e able to do....but so far I have yet to see anything that is informative. Hopefully I'll not destroy my house or my cooker/fryer while I am learning.

01LunaMoonDragon did he order straight from the infomercial? I didn’t pay for any extra accessories and it came with ALL of them. I almost never use my stove or oven anymore. I use that frying basket to steam all the time for veggies or thawing out meat if I’m not going to pressure cook it.

I was thinking that too.. the Instant Pot model also has both lids detachable. But then I watched some videos of people using it and also using air fryers.... and I was wrong. Apparently it is common when air frying to check on how your food is doing, to tell if it's done or needs more time, and most recipes require you to flip/rotate/shake the food. With the standalone air fryers it's easy, you just pull out the basket / put it back in. Similiarly, with the foodie, you just open/tilt up the lid (and it turns off the heating element). However, with the Instant Pot / Emeril's... you have to lift the lid off and hold it outstretched with your arm, while the thing is still 400 degrees and wirring, and its very heavy for a lid (over 6 lb), and then put it down on a special heat resistant silicone cover they give you, otherwise it burns your counter. This is much more effort, takes a lot longer, is more dangerous, and you lose a lot more heat in the process causing your food to start to cool down and stop cooking. This made me think the Foodi design is better.

I've seen comments that the Emeril pressure fryer pots are different, depending on where you buy the unit. If bought through the TV infomercial number or the As Seen On TV web site - you'll get the stainless steel inner pot. Those that have bought through Amazon or other stores have said they got a pot with a black non-stick coating. Something to check out when buying. Verify which you'll be getting.

I just got the Emeril because the Foodi is just too big, with its hinged lid, for my British counter top. However, having never pressure cooked before I need some decent recipes and the Emeril seems a bit lacking in recipe books. Could you please tell me, would the recipes for the Foodi work just as well in the Emeril or are there special unique programmes the Foodi uses?

Thanks for a great video. I'm still trying to decide. I like that Emeril also does Sous Vide. Being able to remove the lids is also a plus for me, as is the stainless vs. coated inner pot. What's still holding me up from buying Emeril is the lack of proper description of what comes with the darn thing. There seem to be various packaging options out there, and I don't want to buy one and then find out I have to spend more money just to also order the proper rack/basket I need. I couldn't care less about a ladle and measuring cup that comes with some of the options.

You don’t have one less lid- there are TWO for both units because one is to fry; one is for pressure cooking. Surely you can understand why a lid with a “burner” intending to crisp and fry; wouldn’t be used under high pressure with steam (water) splashing all over the “burner”? That would be a serious fire and safety hazard... one lid for “frying”; one lid for pressurized cooking...

Stainless is much more durable than aluminum. A drop to the floor wont do much to stainless but Aluminum can dent so badly you cant get back in.

Ninja Foodi is far supperior to EG's There are so many things missing on Emeril's. They use the double rack in the TV commercial but it doesn't come with it. The finish on the pot is horrible and there is no smaller insert. I got my daughter a Ninja for Christmas and I could kick myself for getting the Emeril one. At Costco it was cheaper than the Emeril one since you have to pay extra shipping for the air fryer lid!!!!

My Emeril Lagassie Pressure airfiyer get burnt plastic smell when I use the Airfryer mode. Especially from that silver portion (squarish shape) on top of the airfryer lid. That's the area I pin pointed to have strong plastic smell. I really love this item, but even after few months of use and cleaning I'm not able to get rid of that smell. I tried everything possible, cleaning it, nothing helped. Its been months now and still I get the bad smell whenever I switch ON. Even when it's OFF, the silver shinny square portion on the top of the airfyer lid has that same plastic smell. Any idea how to get rid of that? Or does your airfyer lid smell plastic burnt in that silver area? I have a Ninja Foodi and it doesn't have any smell from day 1. Even though I like Emeril.

But the same type of cord is used for various electronics such as computers, electric kettles, game consoles, etc. When properly utilized, they are meant to stay *securely* attached, as loose cords are an electrical hazard. A true breakaway cable, which is what you seem to be suggesting is being used, isn’t normally used in high wattage appliances. Besides, is it really wise to have it placed in a manner where there would even be a chance of somebody tripping over the cable? Anything could happen, I know, but I would hope most people would have the sense to not use a potentially explosive appliance where anyone could stumble into its cord. ;)

Although both cookers are great, there are definitely ➕ ➖. I love the wideness of the Ninja Foodi than Emeril's. I dont like the coated inner pot because no matter how careful you are, that coating will release at some point. That's the issue I had with my Power Pressure Cooker XL. So a stainless steel or porcelain enamel coating coating is ideal. Love the attached lid only because I have a small kitchen and not enough space for storage. Also Emeril's cooker takes too long to come up to pressure and overpriced. I've had my eye on the NuWave Duet only because it has a grill. Great review; Happy Cooking! 🥄🍴🍛
