NINJA vs COSORI - Which air fryer cooks faster?

Does the Ninja dual zone cook food faster because it has a higher wattage or are the manufacturers just blinding us with big numbers? In this video I do some real-world testing to find out how much power the Cosori & Ninja air fryer use when cooking and whether more power means a faster cook!

Just wanted to say that your videos are probably the best quality I have seen on KZbin. They are like BBC's Click and The Gadget show. Really excellent quality and informative!

Emily that means such a lot, thank you for the kind comment. Strangely Spencer Kelly is actually an old colleague of mine!

Isn't the Ninja saying with "both" drawers runing it is 2470w but Cosori are only saying that one drawer is 1750w. That is why you're getting half wattage on your meter with the Ninja. Good video though. BTW i'm still using my Ninja to make toast 🙂

Yes, that would make total sense. Weird that the Cosori is not the same though!

Thanks Clara - if/when our oven gives up the ghost its an air fryer as a replacement for sure. My wifes a vegiterian and I'm a confirmed meat eater so a dual basket would be ideal. Our stumbling block is space! Our 1950's kitchen is too small and lacks worktop space ... oh well maybe soon eh😃😃

Thank you for making a video specifically for my question. We have since decided on the Cosori. At the moment, we're still a bit disappointed that everything takes quite a long time (sometimes twice as long as the Air Fryer indication on the food packaging). Let's see if we'll still be happy with it.

H’mmm… twice as long doesn’t sound right! What sort of things have you experienced that with?

So far we have tried, for example, sweet potato fries, chicken nuggets, and breaded mini schnitzels. They all came directly from the freezer. Instead of the specified 11 minutes, they were in the air fryer for 22 minutes plus preheating and they still weren't crispy.

Is true that the cosori display is becoming full of scratches extremely fast?

Perhaps electricity works differently around you, but I can tell you that in Canada, no small appliance can be sold with such a high wattage, simply because the absolute maximum you can suck out of a standard 15 Amp 120 Volt circuit is a theoretical 1875W... and no one builds machines that would deliberately push a circuit breaker close to jumping. So I can tell you that my Ninja 10 qt (the one with the larger baskets compared to the 8 qt) uses up several hundred watts less than even 1875W (even 1700 is a fire hazard in older houses with outdated wiring)... and I guess if the current was 240V it would be a different story (I suspect this is the explanation, because I hear that Europe has a lot of places with 240V running on every outlet for even the smallest tasks). But only large appliances use 240V here. So I guess my point is this (if you're still reading): if you are going to be talking about Watts, you should make absolutely sure that whoever watches your video knows upfront whether or not your devices specs and ratings are applicable to the country they live in. Sadly, this video will make very little sense to a North American (or Japanese) audience.

I’m a British channel talking about British appliances where our voltage is 240v, you can’t buy these models (with the UK spec) outside the UK.
